Dear Mr. Aslam: Assalamualikum. I did not write the postings to be praised. I usually do not response most of the mails. However, Dr. Nuran Nabi's posting caught my attention. The only reason I responded to his posting is that I was really wanted to know how he felt as a living Freedom fighter when he saw a poor little girl name Felani was hanging on the wired fence in India Bangladesh border. I didn't want to divert anything and do not mind if you or anyone in these forum do protest to Sarmila Bose's event. As I told earlier, God Forbid, IMAGINE that's your daughter or sister is hanging just like that. Pls close your eyes and think before you respond to my mail. Mr. Aslam, in the future, pls read my mail line by line before jumping into any conclusion. And pls try to understand what I'm saying in the mail not "what you think I'm saying" in my writings. I also noticed previously, you make assumptions in other people writings. If you read my postings, you will always find, I respond to someone on his/her posting as what he/she wrote. Not trying to find his/her underlying msg or trying to guess if the person serving certain ideological interest. One thing I was though well by my parents, "Honesty is the best policy". Again, I did not said anywhere in my mail that Pakistani army didn't kill or raped our people. They were and still are one of the worse nation in this planet. And i'm glad that we were able to get rid of them. Waht they did is inhumane and they are still paying for it by not having any peace over the lst 40 years. What I said that the number 3 million was a slip of tongue by Bongobondhu. I also said, I want war criminal to be tried. Mr. Aslam I'm not an Indian basher either, in fact, I admire India as we can learn many good things from them. India is doing what India is supposed to do. Nation and people are no different. We always look after our own interest. India is lookijg after her interest and Bangladesh would do the same if Bangladesh is as big and strong as India. It is us, Bangladesh, who is allowing others to push us, humiliate us, and kill us by being very divisive, illogical, and unpatriotic. In your lifetime, you will never see a BJP government is trying ex-Congress government official for helping Shanti bahni in the CHT Hill tract or vice-versa. That's what make India is India and Bangladesh is Bangladesh. We need to have a comprehensive policy, when it's come to national security, national economy, and national interest. Anyhow, I better stop now or else I will be going on and on. Mr. Aslam, there are many people like me in Bangladesh and around the globe, who are called independent. We do not sell our soul to any party but to our consciousness. We vote based on the candidate's merit and personality. Not because he a Democrat/Republican or Liberal/Conservative, or AL/BNP/JAMAAT/JP/COMMUNIST. People like me vote BNP candidate in MP election and AL candidate in Mayoral election from same constituencies and vise-versa. You and my Father-in-law faced the bullet in the forefront and my late father fought the war in a different way. I wish I was born at that time to do the same. I understand your sentiment towards 1971. What i don't understand is that in this forum, i do not see you or any other Freedom fighters are crying for Felani or thousands of innocent Bangladeshis are killed by Indian border force. I guess you and some of the Freedom fighters fought the war against Pakistan not for Bangladesh. If you fought for Bangladesh, than i should have seen your anger against the Felani killer just the way you showed your anger towards Pakistani murderers. Also, in our 1971 war, 3 million people didn't die. The mentioned number was a slip of tongue by Bongobondhu. And people are Bangladesh can't even talk about it as they might be labeled as Razakar. As a generation after 1970, I'm just tired of seeing Bangladeshis keep talking about old enemy and being mum of new enemy. FYI, as you are, I also want the trial of 1971 war criminals. But I don't think our neighboring country want this issue to be resolved as this the only way to keep Bangladesh divided and let us in fighting. See, people like you and me, living in different countries, from completely different generations, still wasting our time to argue over something which should have been solved 40 years ago.
