[chottala.com] Is the Police will stop the harassment of women Prisoner! [1 Attachment]

[Attachment(s) from Association of Development Agencies in Bangladesh (ADAB) CTG included below]

Dear All,

Last 23rd July the picture is published in local newspaper in Chittagong. The police members are harassing the women prisoners and caught by roof. Usually police carry of them to shown court without any vehicle and foot. This is not realistic and violating human rights of women prisoners. This is unexpected by the police force during the elected democratic government.

We are protesting to stop these types of human rights violations and should protect rights of women prisoners. I am sure our Government and Police force must think about it.

[chottala.com] Why push the Biharis onto Bangladesh?

Attention dina khan,

We came to know from the history there were so many scientific thesis written in Urdu. There is no question of revengeful attitude in my writing. In spite of their activities in 1971 still few lacs of Biharis staying there for the last 39 years in the middle of full of Bengali people without any untoward incidents or revengeful activities. Bengali people initially did not have any conflict with the Biharis. The conflict of Bangalee Bihari started in 1971 when Biharis instead of taking side with the Bengalis with whom they used to stay for 25 years they accepted Pakistanis as their friends and  initiated all sorts of atrocities against Bengalis by taking active parts along with their Pakistani associates.

I don't know why I am unable to clear that the creation of Pakistan was on the basis of religion only, not on language.

Before 1947 many iron men from our Bengal joined hand in hand with M.A. Jinnah and took active part in the creation of Pakistan on the agreement to create a separate home land for the Muslims in India. According to that they tried and were successful in creating Pakistan as a separate land for the Muslims.

There was no agreement and no mention anywhere, the creation of Pakistan for Urdu only when there was movement for the creation of Pakistan going on. Why possessing this wrong idea, India was divided into two - Pakistan for Urdu language and India for Hindi language.

It was only due to M.A. Jinnah who later on without giving any value to our Bengali language took the opportunity of our sincerity to enforce most unwanted Urdu language on our shoulder and by telling Urdu and Urdu only will be the state language of Pakistan, igniting the volcano producing an eruption creating a big explosion of our language movement which results ultimately the creation of Bangladesh in 1971. How they thought our Bengali people would accept their foolish dictatorial proposal.

From our Bangladesh side there was no objection if West Pakistani people accept Urdu as their state language but in our the then East Pakistan how they thought and were dared enough to force Urdu language over  us and subsequently objecting our own Bengali language in our own Bengal? Was it possible where the majority of us as son of the soil used to speak in Bengali by being born and brought up with our own ancestral Bengali language? How it was possible we would start again everything by accepting Urdu from the beginning as our new language? Sorry to say it was not possble.

Bengali people never objected for the Biharis who entered in our small Bangladesh to speak in their own Urdu language nor bothered for it. The problem started when M.A. Jinnah tried to enforce the Urdu over our  Bengal to accept it as state language. Really very strange to think even.

We can sacrifice our small land of Bangladesh to share with those large influx of Biharis as they were our same Muslim community but in concern of language no compromise, as that was the language of our heart.

That was the only reason by attacking our Bengali language these Biharis lost their all stronghold of their foot step in Bangladesh and have nowhere, got no place moving from one place to another as vagabond refugees.

Biharis who supported and favoured Pakistan against us during our liberation war in 1971 after repeated claim by them for the last 39 years as they are Pakistani, Pakistan refused to accept them. On the other hand it is not possible for our Bangladesh to be converted again into Pakistan as it is already finished now.

The question is now why to push those "Urdu Wala Biharis" onto Bangladesh as their most intimate "Mouch Wala Khan of Pakistan" refused to accept them?  After staying for 25 years, Pakistan could not be a good friend of Bengalis how the Biharis thought those Pakistanis will be a good friend of them. What more we can do for them now? There is no other alternative except feeling pity for those poor Biharis.

Dowllah.

Mr. Dowllah
You are talking for revenging
I am asking for lawful administration based on justice of law for humanity & human right.
It is very clear though Pakistan was created based on the theory of 2 nations the cause is religion
But historical causes of division were behind that reasons are still for continuing the problems in the subcontinent
Though Mr. Jinnah was blamed he was the responsible person for division of India logically it could not be said only Mr. Jinnah was responsible.
He was the initial member of Congress later he joined to ML.
On analyzing it is clear that the historical backgrounds divisions of India are the main causes. Once on train travel Calcuta to Delhi I heard people in train gossiped that Urdu is language of Muslim & Hindi for Hindu.
So it is looked India has no language problem all other local languages people have taken Hindi their national language & Harmony of Geo Political cultural is there..
Though for Bengali language Bangladesh is liberated still in Bangladesh Bengali language is used only in domestic in drama in cinema & in political talking for illiterate people.
It can not be used for earning medical knowledge or engineering knowledge or technical knowledge or official & administrative knowledge even it is not used for prestigious talking & in religion prayer.

It is the Language limited in Rabindra & Nazrul Sangith now in Natak of Homayan Ahmed & fun of Naslima Nasrin.
No authority still is thinking or taking perfect action for making it a media of knowledge earning language. People think wasting of time for using this language.
However
Bangladesh Administration is needed to think how can be established lawful Administration & social justice for humanity & human right

[chottala.com] BBC: Israel to use Hitler shot for PR

Israel to use Hitler shot for PR

Adolf Hitler and Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin al-Husseini, 1941
The Mufti allied himself with the Nazis

Israeli embassies are being instructed to use for public relations purposes an infamous photograph of Adolf Hitler meeting a top Palestinian cleric.

Far-right Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has personally requested that the photo be sent to missions around the world, a senior official said.

The 1941 shot shows the Nazi leader meeting the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.

The US is pressuring Israel to end a Jewish building project at a hotel once owned by the cleric, Amin al-Husseini.

AFP news agency quoted an Israeli official as saying the move by Mr Lieberman was linked to the row over the Shepherd Hotel.

"It is important that the world know the facts," a spokesperson for Mr Lieberman told the BBC, without giving further detail.

Shepherd Hotel, East Jerusalem

Haj Amin al-Husseini was a Palestinian nationalist leader who led violent campaigns against Jewish immigrants and the British authorities in what was then British-ruled Palestine in the 1920s and 1930s.

He fled the territory in 1937, but continued his campaign to oppose British plans to set up a Jewish State in Palestine, allying himself with the Nazis during World War II. He died in Lebanon in 1974.

The meeting with Hitler took place in November 1941 in Berlin, during which Husseini asked Hitler unsuccessfully to back Arab independence and publicly oppose the future creation of Israel.

Last week US officials reportedly summoned Israel's ambassador to Washington and requested a stop to the project to build 20 apartments at the Shepherd Hotel site in Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood.

It was bought in 1985 by American Jewish millionaire Irving Moskowitz.

The site is in East Jerusalem, which Israel has occupied since 1967.

It has annexed the occupied territory and declared all Jerusalem Israel's eternal capital in a move that has not been recognised by the international community.

Palestinians hope to establish their capital in East Jerusalem, as part of a two-state peace deal with the Israelis.

They say Israel uses settlement and demolition orders to try to force them from the area.

[chottala.com] Israel's Laying propaganda out in the open !

C

Writer: When `Newsweek' put a certain document into the public domain last week, it was to expose it as part of a clear strategy to manipulate and deceive
Published: 19/07/2009 at 09:10 AM

Once in a while, the US media comes up with stories that restore my faith in American journalism. Last week, Newsweek broke the story of the ``Global Language Dictionary'' created by the Israel Project, a document designed to help those visionary leaders who are on the front lines of fighting the media war for Israel.

The dictionary is a listing of 25 rules for effective communication ``with many specific words and phrases to help you communicate effectively in support of Israel''. Now widely available on the internet, the document should be a must-read for spinmeisters, political analysts and others who need to learn how to lie convincingly and get paid handsomely.

The fact that the US media put this document into the public domain is to its credit. Many of us who started in journalism in the 1970s drew tremendous inspiration from the country's gung-ho media which ended a war in Vietnam and brought down a president for lying to the people who elected him.

Today is the era of embedded US journalists and media management _ people who help start unjust wars and then seek to justify and nourish them. These people are far more dangerous than terrorists because they are the real mind-benders, hidden persuaders and scheming manipulators.

The ``Global Language Dictionary'' is a scary, dangerous document. The mind-benders will see it as being a great piece of work, a blueprint for furthering the objective of obfuscation and propaganda. The real fact-finders will see it as major part of the formidable, polished and highly sophisticated arsenal they face in getting the public to sift fact from fiction.

The foreword to the dictionary quotes its main writer, Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi, founder and president of the Israel Project, thus: ``On behalf of our board and team, we offer this guide to visionary leaders who are on the front lines of fighting the media war for Israel. We want you to succeed in winning the hearts and minds of the public.

``We know that when you achieve your mission that you are helping both Israel and our global Jewish family. Thus, we offer these words with our sincerest wishes for your every success. May your words help bring peace and security to Israel and the Jewish people!''

Well, very interestingly, the first instruction for attaining peace and security for Israel and the Jewish people is to tell the public what it wants to hear (and never mind if it is not really true). I quote: ``The first step to winning trust and friends for Israel is showing that you care about peace for both Israelis and Palestinians and, in particular, a better future for every child. Indeed, the sequence of your conversation is critical and you must start with empathy for both sides first.

``Open your conversation with strong proven messages such as: `Israel is committed to a better future for everyone _ Israelis and Palestinians alike. Israel wants the pain and suffering to end, and is committed to working with the Palestinians toward a peaceful diplomatic solution where both sides can have a better future. Let this be a time of hope and opportunity for both the Israeli and the Palestinian people.' ''

The dictionary urges Israel's advocates to use empathy. It says: ``Even the toughest questions can be turned around if you are willing to accept the notion that the other side has at least some validity. If you begin your response with `I understand and I sympathise with those who...'', you are already building the credibility you will need for your audience to empathise and agree with you.

``Indeed, if the heart of your commu nications is a chorus of finger pointing of `Israel is right, they are wrong', then you will lose more support for Israel than you will gain. Some people who already support Israel may nod their heads and say `way to go', but people who are not already supportive of Israel will be turned off.''

More such exhortations were offered, such as making the claim: ``Israelis and Palestinians deserve a better future. Remind your audience that Israel wants peace. Then focus on shared values. Once you have done this you will have built enough support for you to say what Israel really wants: for the Palestinians to end the violence and the culture of hate so that fences and checkpoints are no longer needed and both sides can live in peace. And for Iran-backed terrorists in Gaza to stop shooting rockets into Israel so that both sides can have a better future.''

Another part of the document lists some of the key buzzwords. It says, ``The language of Israel is the language of America: `democracy', `freedom', `security' and `peace'. These four words are at the core of the American political, economic, social and cultural systems, and they should be repeated as often as possible because they resonate with virtually every American. This is not rhetoric. It is fact. Despite the non-stop coverage of Israel in the press, the positive news about Israel remains untold.''

By any account, it is a remarkable document, a full-fledged strategy for fighting a military war. It lists strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, as well as target markets, strategies and direct messages.

But at the end of the day, the list of do's and dont's is designed to help its advocates lie _ lie more convincingly and professionally, and say things they don't necessarily mean or agree with. It is a roadmap for seeking out ``soft targets'' who can be fooled into believing the lies, and then crafting the lies to win them over.

When Newsweek put this ``dictionary'' into the public domain as a legitimate journalistic story, the objective was not to publicise the document but to expose it as incontrovertible proof that the entire Israeli communications platform is part of a clear strategy to manipulate and deceive. That's the real story. If the US media can continue this in the style that it was once well known for, the truth will prevail, the world will indeed be a better-informed place, and peace and security will reign for everyone, not just Israel and the Jewish people.
