Re: [chottala.com] Re: : BNP and Jamat's Hortal.

Mr. Abid Bahar needs to read the history from 1948 to 1971 to make comments about Sk. Mujib. The birth of Bangladesh was the outcome of political process and movement. It just didn't come in one day after the announcement from Major Zia. Thank you.

"Father of the Nation" debate continues

Mujib was not made the father of the nation by a referendum. It was the AL and Mujib's personal manipulation ( on record) that led to call him the "father". In the mean time the"Father of the Nation" debate continues also for the following reasons:

(1) Mujib was an absentee leader during the war time, also questions about his and his family's unexpected protection by the Pakistan army during the war while ordinary people going through a genocide were not answered even yet.

(2) Mujib's declaration of independence remained questionable. It is widely believed that due to his unwilling to declare the independence that some AL members in Chittagong looked for Zia to declare independence.

(3) After independence his role as a failed, abusive leader killing his opponents in great numbers but his generosity to his cadres to commit crimes, and corruption leading Bangladesh up to a "man made famine' to be branded as the "bottomless basket case" is recorded in history.

(4) He killed the infant democracy in Bangladesh by establishing the BKSAL one leader one party fascist system for which he was accused of being killed.

(5) He is the founder of Chatro League and cadre politics in Bangladesh which is gradually ruining Bangladesh.

True, he is not the symbol of a democratic leader. No doubt, Mujib's 7th March speech has helped in causing a civil war later on led by other heroes like Osmani, Tajuddin, Bhasani, Zia to the liberation war. An absentee leader as Mujib during the war and abusive after the liberation shouldn't be glorified as the "father of the nation" of course if it is not to mislead the nation. The notion of the father of a nation has the implication that he and his family and his party owns the country. It is good to know that some democratic nations do not have any father of their nation.

Finally, just for giving a great speech later on turns a leader turns into a dictator should in no way qualify Mujib to be the father of an emerging democratic leader, and the debate about Mujib, the AL's "father of the Nation" continues.

'Mujib Coat' should be compulsory for judges.

History repeats itself and never forgive the wrongdoers."
Finally, I can agree with you at least on one point! People, who killed democratic leaders got their days in the court and got fair justice. Some rats are still hiding in their holes but they will face the music soon or later. Anybody wants to repeat the same history, they should know what to expect! Good day!

In fact there is no peaceful Hortal in Bangladesh. Even HotalsalledbyAwai League was bloody. Blaming BNP and Jamat won't do any good.
We hae to se the route cause of ths Hortlas. If we can remove the cause Hortal's won't be necessar. Brutal Police Force  and ruling party thugs can't
stop the Hortals that's the reality. All Police Forces serve as government repressive force. Almost 25,000 opposition political activists now in prison
and charged for arson, looting and other so called crimes includingth top leadership of the opoition BNP. All such arrests were one according to the
order of te Pime Minister. Shge ibasically responsible for current politica situation in the country. She can resolve the issue if she agrees for a caretaker
admninistration who will conduct a free and fair election for the nation. Why she is adment to conduct the next general election under her rule?
What's the motive ? Does she fear that a free and fair election will ruion her party's chance to regain power.
If she  thinks that, people of Bangladesh wants electon under a political government why not resolving that very important ise i a referendum ?
People didn't gave a mandate to the Rubber stamp Parliament to do whatever they believe right for the nation.
Major issues affecting the nation should be resolved by referendum ?

The hartal witnessed some incidents of vandalism, arson, cocktail explosion and detention at different city points including Dhaka University area, Kakrail, Farmgate, Mirpur and Jatrabari also in Narayanganj. See below-
