[chottala.com] War crimes trial will 'vanish into thin air': Mojaheed Brags

[The  Ali Ahsan Mohammed Mojaheed  was the Chief of Al-Bodor Death Squad in 1971
......Jamaate Islami was one of the main accessory to genocide committed under the
occupation regime  ...Ali Ahsan Mohammed Mojaheed should be taken to remand
immediately and questioned about his role as the Al-bodor organizer and the
day-to-day killing missions .... Jamaate Islami has already destroyed many evidences of
it's 1971-crimes against humanity, crimes against Bangladesh and seditious conspiracy
against the emergence of Bangladesh. His actvities and speeches amount to omnibus
obstruction-of-justice ... ... He should not be allowed to do so. :

War crimes trial will 'vanish into thin air': Mojaheed

Mon, May 31st, 2010 5:12 pm BdST

Dhaka, May 31 (bdnews24.com)-- The government's move to hold war crimes trial will disappear without trace, Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammed Mojaheed has said.

"War crimes trial is a falsehood. We don't take it seriously. God willing, it will be vanished into the thin air," he told a press briefing at the party's Moghbazar headquarters on Monday.

The leader of the party that directly opposed the nation's freedom struggle in 1971 claimed that people did not endorse the issue of war crimes trial.

He also said it was nothing but a conspiracy of the Awami League with its local and foreign cohorts.

Mojaheed faces charges of committing crimes against humanity as the chief of Al-Badr militia that collaborated with Pakistan army during the nation's war of independence from Pakistan in 1971.

Asked to comment on the allocation of funds in the upcoming budget for the trial, Mojaheed said his party do not attach any importance to the initiative.

On the security measures arranged on its own by Indian High Commission in Dhaka, the Jamaat leader said: "Plots are on-going to bring foreign soldiers into the country.

"This is a planned conspiracy of colonialism. They (the government) want to make the country an ineffective state," Mojaheed said.

Asked about status of the opposition four-party alliance, he said not only BNP and Jamaat, the entire nation will unite against the government.

[chottala.com] 10 activists killed as Israel Navy opens fire on Gaza aid flotilla

Report: At least 10 activists killed as Israel Navy opens fire on Gaza aid flotilla

Over 60 pro-Palestinian campaigners wounded after aid convoy sailing for Gaza Strip ignored Israel's order to turn back, Turkish news reports. IDF confirms two commandos also wounded.

Israel Navy troops opened fire on pro-Palestinian activists aboard a six-ship aid flotilla sailing for the Gaza Strip, killing at least 10 and wounding several others after the convoy ignored orders to turn back, Turkey's NTV reported early Monday.

NTV said between 10 and 15 people were killed, with over 60 wounded.

The IDF also confirmed that two navy commandos had been wounded in fight, which apparently broke out after activists tried to sieze their weapons.

According to the army, commandos who stormed the Turkish ferry Marmara, the largest vessel in the convoy, encountered violent resistance from activists armed with sticks and knives.

Elite troops from Shayetet 13, a naval commando unit, boarded the protest boats at around 4:00 A.M.

Earlier Monday, Al Jazeera reported that the Gaza aid flotilla had changed course to avoid a confrontation with Israeli warships.

The Israeli naval vessels reportedly made contact earlier with the six-ship flotilla, which is carrying 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid and supplies to Gaza.

The Israeli navy was operating under the assumption that the activists manning the boats would not heed their calls to turn around, and Israeli troops were prepared to board the ships and steer them away from the Gaza shores and toward the Israeli port city of Ashdod.

Huwaida Arraf, one of the flotilla organizers, said the six-ship flotilla began the journey from international waters off the coast of Cyprus Sunday afternoon after two days of delays. According to organizers, the flotilla was expected to reach Gaza, about 250 miles (400 kilometers) away, on Monday afternoon, and two more ships would follow in a second wave.

The flotilla was fully prepared for the different scenarios that might arise, and organizers were hopeful that Israeli authorities would do what's right and not stop the convoy, one of the organizers said.

"We fully intend to go to Gaza regardless of any intimidation or threats of violence against us," Arraf said. "They are going to have to forcefully stop us."

After nightfall, three Israeli navy missile boats left their base in Haifa, steaming out to sea to confront the activists' ships.

Two hours later, Israel Radio broadcast a recording of one of the missile boats warning the flotilla not to approach Gaza.

"If you ignore this order and enter the blockaded area, the Israeli navy will be forced to take all the necessary measures in order to enforce this blockade," the radio message continued.

The flotilla, which includes three cargo ships and three passenger ships, is trying to draw attention to Israel's three-year blockade of the Gaza Strip. The boats are carrying items that Israel bars from reaching Gaza, like cement and other building materials.

The activists said they also were carrying hundreds of electric-powered wheelchairs, prefabricated homes and water purifiers.

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said that after a security check, permitted humanitarian aid confiscated from the boats will be transferred to Gaza through authorized channels. However, Israel would not transfer items it has banned from Gaza under its blockade rules. Palmor said that for example, cement would be allowed only if it is tied to a specific project.

This is the ninth time that the Free Gaza movement has tried to ship in humanitarian aid to Gaza since August 2008.

Israel has let ships through five times, but has blocked them from entering Gaza waters since a three-week military offensive against Gaza's Hamas rulers in January 2009. The flotilla bound for Gaza is the largest to date.

Some 700 pro-Palestinian activists are on the boats, including 1976 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Corrigan Maguire of Northern Ireland, European legislators and an elderly Holocaust survivor.

The mission has experienced repeated delays, both due to mechanical problems and a decision by Cyprus to bar any boat from sailing from its shore to Gaza. The ban forced a group of European lawmakers to depart from the breakaway Turkish Cypriot northern part of the island late Saturday.

Israel and Egypt imposed the blockade on Gaza after Hamas militants violently seized control of the seaside territory in June 2007.

Israel says the measures are needed to prevent Hamas, which has fired thousands of rockets at Israel, from building up its arsenal. But United Nations officials and international aid groups say the blockade has been counterproductive, failing to weaken the Islamic militant group while devastating the local economy.

Israel rejects claims of a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, saying it allows more than enough food and medicine into the territory. The Israelis also point to the bustling smuggling industry along Gaza's southern border with Egypt, which has managed to bring consumer goods, gasoline and livestock into the seaside strip.

Israel has condemned the flotilla as a provocation and vowed to block it from reaching Gaza.

Israeli military officials said they hope to resolve the situation peacefully but are prepared for all scenarios. Naval commandos have been training for days in anticipation of the standoff. Military officials, speaking on condition of anonymity under official guidelines, said the forces would likely take over the boats under the cover of darkness.

Palmor said foreigners on the ships would be sent back to their countries. Activists who did not willingly agree to be deported would be detained. A special detention facility has been set up in Ashdod.

[chottala.com] Albodor: Killers and traitors of 1971 must never go unpunished !

Yes, I am singling out the main organizers of Al-Bodor death squads
of 1971.

What's your  problem with that?

Are you trying to mix up issues so that the Go-Azam-Nizami-Mujahidi
et. el gang can get leeway from their criminal acts performed
under religious masks. Jamaat-e-Islami was directly involved in crimes
agaist humanity, crimes against Bangladesh and seditious conspiracy.
in 1971  Jamaat also misguided and misled many of our young
men who were engaged in anti-people violence in the cover of religion.

If you are so much concerned about the contemporay "law & order"
issues then you should open a different discussion thread
on that topic... Please, keep issues seperated.

In any case,  Albodor: Killers and traitors of 1971 must never go

Albodor: Killers and traitors of 1971 must never go unpunished !

It is an open secret that Jamaat's 1971 crimes were organized
crimes in the name of Islam and saving Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Lest we forget, Jamaat's  Al-Badar and it killing missions were
"political phenomena" that may repeat under  different lebash,
unless the people of Bangladesh is constantly on the guard.
Thus, it is an utmost necessity to increase public awareness on
Jamaat's crimes of 1971.

Let everyone know what has happened in 1971; Jamaat's
anti-people role must always be exposed.

Everyone must know that Jamaat's student wing Islami Chattro Sangha's
hand was tainted with so much of Bangladeshi blood that when it
resurfaced in late 70s, it had a new name Islami Chattro Sibir.

Again, we must  always differentiate between the Gestapo killers 1971
like the Jamaat's Al-bodors wing and ordinary supporters
of Pakistan. . These traitors and the killers should never go unpunished.

[chottala.com] Easy way to identify war criminals -1

War throughout Bangladesh  continued upto Dec 3 the day when India declared fullfledged war against Pakistan after their first attack on India.

Nobody can deny the torture and attrocities done by the so called Muslim soldiers of Pakistan in collaboration with Jamaat, Razakar, Al-Badar, Al-Shams and migrated Biharis from India against Bengalis in the then East Pakistan as they did that throughout Bangladesh during the whole period of nine months. I feel very sad as our Bihari brothers after leaving everythings in India migrated to East Pakistan for a happy home suffered a lot and still suffering because of their supports and collaboration with the Pakistani armies who ultimately left them in uncertainty.

East Bengal People got a good reward of their overwhelming support of creating Pakistan in 1947. Did they get that type of supports from their own West Pakistani brothers for the creation of Pakistan at that time.

In 1971 the people of East Pakistan voted for their great leader Bangabandhu Sk. Mujibur Rahman. That was not their faults of voting Sk. Mujib in a democratic way for which the people suffered a lot.

After a long 25 years a leader of East Pakistan Bangabandhu Sk. Mujibur Rahman won with majority seats in a democratic process in the whole of Pakistan. But instead of giving power to the majority leader, whether it was wise for Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to raise a question like Sk. Mujib got majority seats in East Pakistan and he himself got majority seats in West Pakistan. Indirectly was it not a clear indication of separation of East Pakistan from the West? Whether that was the only reason for which East Pakistani Bengali people suffered a lots of attrocities in........

1)  Villages after villages

2)  Cities after cities

3)  Mohallas after mohallas

4)  By burning the houses of the civilians by the Pakistani armies as because they voted for Sk.

      Mujib.

5)  Raping innocent Muslim women of their own religion in their same Eastern part of Pakistan.

6)  What types of Muslims they were  doing behurmati to their own Muslim women in their own

     Pakistan.

.

Whether it is justified to tell it was not a war and actual war started between India and Pakistan on Dec 3 after the declaration of war by India? Then what was that which continued from March 26 up to Dec 3, 1971 under dfferent sector commanders?

Dowllah.

Hasina pledges to rid country of corruption

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina spells out future plans in JS

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Thursday promised in parliament to free Bangladesh from corruption, misrule and militancy to build up the country as an abode of peace and plenty in South Asia, reports UNB.
"Bangladesh was once synonymous with a land of militancy and terrorism. Today, that bad name has been removed. Bangladesh is now the land of peace and promise, and it has been possible after Awami League''s return to power," she said.
Winding up the thanksgiving motion on the President''s New Year address to the House, the Prime Minister said her government has been working for the welfare of the people by discarding the politics of meanness and vendetta practiced by the previous government.
"Awami League works for the people with liberal attitude to establish a developed and digital Bangladesh," she told the House amidst the thumping of desks by treasury- bench members to hail her vision.
In her one-hour statement, the Prime Minister gave a pen picture of activities done in the first year of her government and spelt out future plans in accordance with her party''s election manifesto.
On the current power and gas crises, Hasina frankly admitted that the public life has been rendered miserable by severe shortage of electricity and gas.
However, she deplored that the BNP-Jamaat regime and the immediate-past caretaker government didn''t produce a single megawatt of electricity in their seven years of rule though the demand was on the rise.
"The people would not have suffered so much if the previous government could produce some amount of electricity. Now the buck is passed to us," she said.
To overcome the crisis urgently, the Prime Minister said that her government is taking initiative to explore gas and buy a three-dimensional rig so Bangladesh can survey and explore gas. "But it is indeed a time-consuming matter."
Hasina said 700MW electricity has been added to the national grid and another quantum of 800 megawatts will be added in the near future. Besides, she said, the government is taking initiatives for harnessing solar energy, nuclear and clean energy. The Prime Minister mentioned certain daunting challenges like BDR mutiny and global economic meltdown she had to face at the very outset of her rule.
She made a dig into the role of her political opponent, incumbent opposition leader Khaleda Zia, who she said had been missing for three days from her cantonment residence since the carnage while some people were in pleasure.
"What the opposition leader expected out of this incident?" she questioned.
The Prime Minister said it could easily be understood who were behind the BDR mutiny when some people tried to fish in the troubled waters.
Bitterly criticizing the BNP politics, Hasina said they shed crocodile tears for the slain army officers. She questioned: "Who started bloodbath with the blood of army officers?"
Recalling the hanging of hundreds of army officers by the Zia government, she said, "Ziaur Rahman did it to consolidate his power."
Responding to BNP criticism about the last parliamentary elections, the Prime Minister made a flashback on the events that led to the 1/11 episode and the sufferings she had to experience in jail under the army-backed caretaker government.
Hasina claimed that the December 29, 2008 election was the fairest vote after 1975 when the people cast their vote freely and elected a government of their choice.
On her election pledges, the Prime Minister said her government brought down the prices of essentials, including rice, flour and soybean oil. "If BNP could return to power, people would have to buy rice at Tk 80 per kg."
She said her government has raised pay on the one hand and reduced the inflation on the other so people could lead their life without much hardship.
Despite recession, she said, remittances increased 24.4 percent while foreign reserve exceeded US$ 10-billion mark.
On the much-talked- about business syndicate, the Prime Minister said, "We know the prices are increased through syndication. They have thousands of crores of Taka in their hands and doing manipulation on the market to tarnish the image of Awami League."
On whitening money by top BNP leaders, Hasina wondered how a country could develop if a Prime Minister (Khaleda) and her family whitened black money. She urged the Finance Minister to publish a white paper showing who whitened how much in the past.
As part of her government mission to alleviate poverty, the Prime Minister said, the present government focused on ensuring social-safety net for which Tk 7,500 crore has been allocated in the budget.
Hasina also reiterated the government'' s infrastructure- development plans, including construction of a deep-sea port, development of Chittagong and Mongla seaports, bridges, including Padma Bridge and Teesta bridge, and the dredging of all rivers.

Motiur Rahman Nizami is still in in the facebook. [up until this moment !!!]
Whereas as the Facebook has an extremely bad cartoon of the Prophet
Muhammad (sm) ...many Muslims are boycotting Facebook, whereas,
Nizami, who organized Albodor in the name of Islam is still enjoying
his membership of Facebook. Please verify:

Un-necessary Provocation To Muslims :: Face book Has Acted Irresponsibly
Agence France-Presse . Johannesburg has reported that South African newspaper on Friday published a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammed on a thera- pist’s couch, angering Muslims and raising fears of protests during next month’s World Cup. It all started with publication by Facebook an extremely bad cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad (sm). The weekly Mail & Guardian ran the cartoon after the South African Council of Muslim Theologians failed in a midnight bid to get a court order stopping publication, the newspaper said on its website.  The image, drawn by renowned cartoonist Jonathan Shapiro, depicts the prophet on a therapist’s couch lamenting, ‘Other prophets have followers with a sense of humour!’ ‘I consider the newspaper court victory a triumph of freedom of speech. The cartoon was an assertion of freedom of speech, which we enjoy in this country,’ said Shapiro, who works under the name Zapiro. ‘I was hoping this time around a cartoon like this could get into the paper without any kind of protests,’ he told AFP.  The newspaper said the Council of Muslim Theologians had raised the spectre of a violent backlash during the World Cup, which kicks off June 11, in arguments before the court requesting an injunction against the cartoon.  The paper said it received a flood of angry calls Friday, including death threats against Zapiro. ‘You’ve got to watch your back’ and ‘This will cost him his life’ were some of the remarks made,’ the paper said.  It said the image was a response to the controversy surrounding an ‘Everybody Draw Muhammad Day’ campaign on Facebook, which called on political cartoonists and others to break the Muslim taboo on images of the prophet.  The campaign recalled the deadly riots that followed a 2006 controversy surrounding a Danish newspaper’s publication of a series of Mohammed cartoons. Shapiro said he did not expect his cartoon to spark protests and anger among the Muslim community

We are shocked at the behavior of all the worshippers of unbridled freedom whose job has become not so much to fight for real freedom but to hurt others and create social turmoil. In the first place the Face book has done an evil and blasphemous act.  The news papers, the courts, the facebook, the cartoonist all are responsible for all these. These people are enemies of decency and peace, they are worshippers of sex, indecency in the name of unbridled freedom ..Their talk of freedom, democracy and secularism are all meant to hurt religious and decent people. We condemn this whole-heartedly.
