[chottala.com] Pakistan may collapse in six months

'Pakistan may collapse in six months'
United News of Bangladesh . Dhaka

The Pakistani state could collapse within six months if immediate steps are not taken to remedy the situation, warned a top adviser to the US Central Command in an interview with Washington Post.
David Kilcullen, who advises CENTCOM commander General David H Petraeus on the war on terror, urged US policy makers to focus their attention on Pakistan as a failure there could have devastating consequences for the entire international community.
In the interview published in Washington Post on Sunday, Kilcullen, who is credited with the success of the US troop surge strategy in Iraq, warned that if Pakistan went out of control, it would 'dwarf' all the crises in the world today. 'Pakistan…hands down. No doubt,' he said when asked to name the central front in the war against terror.
Asked to explain why he thought Pakistan was so important, Kilcullen said: 'Pakistan has 173 million people, 100 nuclear weapons, an army bigger than the US Army, and al-Qaeda headquarters sitting right there in the two-thirds of the country that the government doesn't control.'
He claimed that the Pakistani military, police and intelligence service did not follow the civilian government; they were essentially a rogue state within a state. 'Were now reaching the point where within one to six months we could see the collapse of the Pakistani state, also because of the global financial crisis, which just exacerbates all these problems,' he said.
'The collapse of Pakistan, al-Qaeda acquiring nuclear weapons, an extremist takeover — that would dwarf everything we've seen in the war on terror today.' Kilcullen, an Australian anthropologist who advises governments on Muslim militancy throughout the West, disagreed with the suggestion that it was important to kill or capture Osama bin laden.
He discussed two possible scenarios for catching the al-Qaeda leader. Scenario one is, American commandos shoot their way into some valley in Pakistan and kill bin Laden. This, Kilcullen said, would not end the war on terror and would make bin Laden a martyr. The second scenario: a tribal raiding party captures bin Laden, puts him on television and says, 'You are a traitor to Islam and you have killed more Muslims than you have killed infidels, and we're now going to deal with you.'
They could either then try and execute the guy in accordance with their own laws or hand him over to the International Criminal Court. 'If that happened, that would be the end of the al-Qaeda myth,' said Kilcullen.
He said that three lessons learned in Iraq could also apply to Afghanistan. The first one is to protect the population. 'Unless people feel safe, they won't be willing to engage in unarmed politics,' he argued.
The second lesson is to focus on getting the population on America's side and making them self-defending. And then a third lesson is to make a long-term commitment.
Kilcullen said that the Obama administration's policy of reaching out to moderate elements of the Taliban also had several pitfalls. 'If the Taliban sees that we're negotiating for a stay of execution or to stave off defeat, that's going to harden their resolve,' he warns. 'I'm all for negotiating, but I think the chances of achieving a mass wave of people turning against the Taliban are somewhat lower in Afghanistan than they were in Iraq.'

    Blitz Exclusive

United Nations [UN] has been asked to send back members of Bangladesh Armed Forces and police from the United Nations Peace Keeping Forces [UNPKF].

According to information, one Susan Ramgopalan sent letters to the Secretary General and other officials of United Nations on March 15, 2009 titled `Islamist inside UN Peace Keeping Force', where she referring to the recent statement by Bangladeshi Commerce Minister, Lt. Col. [Retired] Faruk Khan, requested the UN Secretary General to send back all the participating members of Bangladesh Armed Forces and Police in the UNPKF for possible militancy connections.

In the letter, Susan Ramgopalan said, "It has come to my attention that one of the front ranking leaders in Bangladesh's ruling party, Awami League, member of the Cabinet and Member of Parliament, Lt. Col. Faruk Khan recently told reporters that Islamist militants like Jamiatul Mujuhidin (JMB) has penetrated into country's border security forces.

"It is noteworthy that officers of border security forces are deputed from country's armed forces. Under such authoritative statement from a senior member of the Bangladesh government, it is greatly assumed that there are unknown number of Islamist militants even within the other disciplined forces, including army and police.

"United Nations had been welcoming members of Bangladesh Armed Forces and Police for quite some time. But, after the latest statement from the government side, the question of security of continuing services of such elements with militancy ties would not only jeopardize the safety and security of the countries of their activities, but it may even give the militancy linked members of Bangladesh Armed Forces and Police in staging various forms of sabotaging activities in the foreign countries.

"Under such situation, further recruitment of Bangladeshi forces both from army and police should be stopped while an immediate scrutiny should begin to identify the militancy linked members of Bangladesh Armed Forces and Police inside United Nations Peace Keeping Forces and be immediately expelled from such sensitive task."

It is also learnt that, anti-Bangladesh quarters are actively trying to press forward the issue of militant connection of Bangladesh Armed Forces, Police and other disciplined forces, with the motive of tarnishing the image of the country. They [vested quarters] get specific prove in favor of their allegation, as the Commerce Minister in Bangladesh has repeatedly told this matter to the media as well as some other ministers are also echoing the same information.

"This is a dangerous trend, which will project Bangladesh as a Taliban state to the international community", said a counter-terrorism experts commenting on the statement of the commerce minister and other members of the present government.

Re: [chottala.com] BREAKING NEWS> Water Crisis in Bangladesh.

    Very Easy

    It requires only "Intention"

Intention is required in leadership for changing the thought in learning good thing for knowing good idea in making good plan.

Intention is required in leadership for providing nation wide quality creative education in all level for creating the educated creative people for executing the plan.

So you require: "Intention & Leadership".

It is not difficult at all.

You change your thought, make idea & you can change Bangladesh. Average eighty millions people of Bangladesh are working every day. If they change their thought & make some idea, they can implement these programs very easily.

The Government of Bangladesh & the elected Political leaders are needed to be some honest active quality persons for making the idea & the plan with good intention of implementation the plan.

At every year in Bangladesh the old road developing works & the new roads constructing works are being done by the local elected councils.

But they have no any good idea or constructive good plan.

These construction works can be done after making some good thoughtful idea & plan so that the execution of the rivers canal beels jeels & ponds digging plan & roads making works plan will be very easy & very profitable.

First of all it is required to think for making the idea & plan to make the country’s transport system most of the places where it is possible roads transport & water transport side by side any distance of the country so that by digging the rivers & canals all the mud can be placed both sides of the rivers & canals for building the high raise roads for catching the flood & the rain waters & the roads can be used for bus car or trains transportations & the rivers can be used as water transportations.  For protecting the rivers & roads trees can be planted on both sides of the rivers & the roads.  The waters of the rivers can be used for agricultural irrigation purposes fish cultivation & other requirements. The country’s cities, markets, industry & other commercial areas will be on the road sides & on the rivers sides through out the country.

The Authority of Bangladesh Government & the political leaders of Bangladesh are needed to make good plan to know to learn how to catch the flood water & the rain water for facing the requirements to the people of Bangladesh. They should learn to know that Bangladesh is a Water Resource Country

Only they are now required to learn for earning the technical knowledge how to catch the flood water & the rain water for using the water in the whole year for fulfillment of the CountryÃÆ'¢â‚¬â„¢s water requirements.

In this purpose for catching the flood water & the rain water the Government of Bangladesh can dig the rivers canals beels jeels & ponds through out the country.

They can make high roads on both sides of the rivers, canals, beels, jeels, ponds & near the sea side for protecting the water.

They can make high roads throughout the country for keeping the water inside the land of the country.

They also can plant trees both sides of the roads for protecting the roads & can cultivate fish in the rivers canals, jeels beels ponds & can use the rivers & the roads for transport services.
