[chottala.com] Islam and Modernization of Bangladesh: an obsession?

Aslam:

There is no need to be overly jealous about Peers (pirs?), they may not be the only facet of Islam.

Even in America, there are existence of cults; watch carefully recent "Mormon saga". No society is perfect. Humans are empathetically different and have 'magical behavior'!

Personally I disavow  those  quaky pirs,  they are indeed living in mythical age!

Islam and Modernization of Bangladesh

Here is an example of how the Religion-traders in the name of
Islam is putting road blocks in natural social changes and progress
in Bangladesh: The so-called religious (Pir)  stalwart the Pir
of Chormonai declared the Television as "Saitan's Box"
and instructed his followers not to watch TV. Interestingly
enough, although these "Islamist" do not watch TV inpublic,
they always invite the TV reporters to publicise their
news widely.
