ব্যাপারটাই বুঝলাম না ! বাংলাদেশে আসার আগে এই দলকে নিয়ে পাকিস্তানি খেলোয়াড় , মিডিয়া সহ অন্যরা খুবই আশাবাদী ছিল। বাংলাদেশকে সহজেই হারিয়ে দেবে এমন হুংকার দিয়েছিল। শোচনীয়ভাবে সিরিজ হারিয়ে ওদের কথার সুর পাল্টে গেছে। এখন ড্রামা কুইনের মত বলছে এটা একটা নতুন দল। এদের আরো সময় দেওয়া উচিত। বাংলাদেশ অনেক পরিনত দল। অথচ এই পাকিস্তানের প্রাক্তন খেলোয়াড় বাসিত আলী এক সময় কটাক্ষ করে বলেছিল "প্লিজ তোমরা ক্রিকেট খেইলনা , ক্রিকেটে তোমাদের মানায়না" ! আর ধারাভাস্যে রমিজ রাজা এই সেদিনও বাংলাদেশকে হেয় করে কথা বলেছে।
আজ যদি স্বাধীন না হতাম কয়টা বাঙালি পাকিস্তান টিমে জায়গা পেতো ? সাকিব-মাশরাফিদের মফস্বলে থেকে ক্রিকেটের বদলে 'ডান্ডা গুলি' খেলতে হত ! আর যারা চ্যান্স পেত তাদেরকে রকিবুল হাসানের মত 'পানি টেনেই' সময় কাটাতে হত।
তাই হে প্রানের স্বাধীনতা , ক্রিকেটে তুমি বাংলাদেশকে করেছ সারা বিশ্বে মহীয়ান।
