Why do call Dr. Ivy  a rebel & revolted Awami League candidate ?
There is no official  party nomination in Corporation election .....
As such there can't be any rebel candidate as you are trying to
 insinuate .......

You are calling her corrupt too ?
Are you trying to express your hidden personal vendetta  against
Dr. Selina Hayet Ivy from your good old New Zealand days....?
Surely, you want to put her in deep problem.?
The prime minister has expressed her pleasure over Selina Hayat Ivy
becoming the first lady mayor in the country.
Sheikh Hasina spoke about her delight that Ivy had been elected
Narayanganj mayor at Monday's cabinet meeting  ....

BTW, where do you find any decision of Sheikh Hasina to support
Shamim Osman?

Through your current post you are directly and indirectly
 helping Jamat-BNP !!!!!!!

PS: Please do not mix up issues and put everything in one basket !

Thanks for your patience.

Dear respected Dr. Abdul Mannan Sir,

There is a big propaganda war between (mainly against Awami League supported candidate Mr. Shamim Osman (a dedicated and tested Bangabandhu supporter) and (in favour of) rebel & revolted Awami League candidate (who is also politically-personally opportunist and corrupt too) Dr. Ivy

Sir, we want your thoughtful writing on the following issues,

--------------------------------------

Our most of the TV & printing media:

(A) Are portraying a candidate in NCC election, who is, both politically and financially insincere person         to          a very honest and sincere person

We know and already have seen in many news of Ivy's politically and financially dishonesty & hypocrisy

(B) And on the other hand most of the TV & printing media are portraying a lesser terror and a lesser bad person to a worst terror and most bad person!

My question, to most of the TV & printing media, are:

·         Tarek,

·         Pintu,

·         Khoka,

·         Joinal Abedin Farukh,

·         VP Joinal,

·         Falu,

·         Mirza Abbas,

·         Eleias Ali,

·         Mirza Khokon,

·         Annie,

·         Harris Chou,

·         Taher,

·         Muzahedi,

·         Mahmudur Rahman,

·         Tuku,

·         Babar,

·         Khondakar Toimur (Of Nrayangonj)

·         David (Of Nrayangonj)

·         Zakir Khan (Of Nrayangonj)           and I can cite many many more

Are above people not bigger and worst SONTRASEE – corrupt – God father - culprit than our Shamim Osman and few other Bangabandhu - Sheikh Hasina followers who was colored as SONTRASEE or God father by those people and media?

The same people and those media who portrayed and used to tell:

·         Bangabandhu is a USA agent

·         Begum Mujib is a "commission agent and 10 %"

·         Bangabandhu is an Indian agent

·        Tajuddin is "MEN SERU MIA" (couples of episode were published in the Iteefaq on a godfather of black-marketing in Bangladesh in 1972-73)

·         Sheikh Kamal was a "Bank Dakait"

·         Awami League means DURVIKKA

·         Sheikh Hasina is a failed statesman and become an Hindu

·         If Awami League goes to power, there will be

o    ULU in the mosque

o    From Feni onwards will become India

And many more such bogus thing.

 -------------------------------------

My question to Dr. Ivy, her supporters and her supporting media:

(1) Was there army in Dr. Ivy's last NPS election in 2003?

(2) Was that election in 2003 was fair and acceptable?

Our observation are:

(1)We know that there was no army in that 2003 NPS election conducted by the than Jamat-BNP govt

(2)We have not seen any statement or protest by you against the result, fairness, acceptability of the election

So, my now question and query to Dr. Ivy and her supporting media,

Why you are suspecting that present government led by Sheikh Hasina will not conduct a fair and acceptable (such a less significant LG election to her party and government) without deploying army.

Sheikh Hasina govt has proved her neutrality and fairness in most of the (except very very instance) national and LG elections, including Chittagong City Council election, where very prominent and influential Awami League leader was defeated to an ex local ex AL leader, Mr. Manju.

-------------------------------------

Media is not publishing any bad news and information of Dr. Ivy.

Like her 'dual citizenship', tax fraudulent statement in NZ, her husband's income and profession, year of marriage etc (which we are seeing in face books).

Because these will go against Dr. Ivy, who is acting against the decision of Sheikh Hasina and Awami League

But the news which will go against Shamim Osman – they publish it thousand times (even if those are not 100 % true or even partly true)!

If anyone lodges a written official complaint or enquiry to New Zealand Government about financial and other personal statement done by Dr. Ivy to election commission (what we have seen in BD News papers and TV media), surely she will be in deep problem.

For presenting incorrect income - financial - personal - statement - her nomination may cancel, at any time.

------------------------------------------------------

Moreover most of the TV and electronic media are is not publishing any news and information which goes in favour of AL supported candidate Shamim Osman, like:

Many top, senior Awami League leaders, MPs are canvassing in favour of Shamim Osman.

On the contrary if one or two AL (mainly local) leaders & MP works in favour of Dr. Ivy, they broad that news several times and with similar coverage - importance of hundreds of top, senior Awami League leaders, MPs who are canvassing in favour of Shamim Osman

Other than this, many national figures, organsiation from different groups – profession of Bangladesh were canvassing in favour of Shamim Osman, like:

o    Performer, stars of Film and show biz media

o    Football players of Bangladesh National Football team

o    Football players of Bangladesh National Cricket team

o    Different professional and social leaders - workers

o   Many other organsiation like Ekattorer Ghatak & Dalal Nirmul Committee, Bangladesh Chatra league, Jubo League etc.

-------------------------------------

Supporting or backing party is more important

than an individiual or independent or a rebel candidate

In any community-public service related job

Dr. Ivy has denied the request and decision of Awami League. And she became a BIDROHI (rebel) candidate:

·         Dr. Ivy is performing against the interest and decision of Sheikh Hasina and Awami League.

·         She is directly and indirectly helping Jamat-BNP

See the action and performance (on both national and student interest/issue) of JSD – BSD (in underground Zia- BNP) nominated and supporting 3 elected DACSU committee led by Manna – Akhter - Bablu vai

And

Action and performance (on national and student interest/issue) of Bangabandhu and AL backed 2 elected DACSU committee led by Tofael – Rob - Makhan Vai

So, supporting party/group/team is more important than an individual and a rebel candidate in any community-public service facilitator job

Finally,

Party is important and superior to an individual person !

Country is important and superior than party !!

--------------------------------------

Please see the

o    Attitude, bBehaviour and BEADOBI of Ivy towrds Awami League, Sheikh Hasina and Shamim Osman

o    Statement against Sheikh Hasina led Awamil League Govt of (both 96-01 and current)

Of Dr. Ivy are making same complain done by BNP candidates, in the TV talk shows, medeia!

How worst she is!

How badly and roughly she is behaving with Shamim Osman!

One Ivy supporter, who was watching the TV talk show with me, had changed his mind after seeing her attitude, behaviour, anti govt statements in the TV talk shows

So, SADHU SABDHAN !!!

----------------------------------------------

Dear A Mannan Sir I want your:

o    To the point,

o    Detail and

o    Rational – logical-informative reply

With best regards,

Engr. Shafiqur Rahman Anu,

A politically-socially conscious person

Sheikh Hasina's support for so called Godfathers still going strong. But for now she will rethink about  supporting them again. It was  Sheikh Hasina's sole decision to support the  well known Godfather. She could have resolved this issue . Everybody know that BNP/Jamat vote went to peoples candidate Dr. Ivy not to Awami nominee Godfather Shamim Osman.Netri refused nomination to winning candidate Dr. Ivy so she is not represented by ruling party nor claimes as an Awami Leaguer. She received support from all opposition supporteres., and she has to protect the interest of all political parties not only Awami Leagues..
Current Prime Minister did the same mistake like her father refused nomination to Ali Ahmed Chunka.
Netri now learned lesson ahd will act aqccordingly.
The milliion dollar question is if BNP nominee Taimus was in the race, who could have won the election ?
There is no definitive answerr to that question?
We have to wait and see what BNP and Awami League gained in N'Gong election, It's still early to say for sure who's the winner .
But government  showed us that it';s government decision to deploy any law enforcers be it Army or RAB or Police, it's not the decision of the Election Commission. EC has to work according to the wishe of the  government(Prime Minister).

Top two (in votes) Mayor candidates (Ivy & Shamim) are Awami Leaguer
Many Awami Leaguer Councillor also elected

On the other hand

It was ultimate & utter political failure for of Jamat-BNP

Both in short term and also in long term!!!

Other than win of a Awami Leaguer as NCC Mayor and Councillor

There were many definitive political win of
Awami League, on many vital aspects

Like

 (1) Successful introduction and application of EVM,

(2) Proof of possibilty of fair & free & peaceful election
under the political government of Awami League

(Defeat of main govt blessed candidate)

(3) Fair & free & peaceful election is possible without Army

(Opposition BNP candidate, Adv. Toimur also admitted this)

(Virtually there were no serious or big incidents)

So, it was definitive political win of Awami League

Mr. Taimur is another BOLI of Khaleda Zia like Major Hafiz:

From the very beginning of the NCC election process BNP nominated candidate Mr. Taimur repeatedly told to media that, he will remain and contest in NCC election, in all circumstances.

Only his death can prevent him from not contesting in NCC election.

This is sure; Mr. Toimur has not died physically by this forced decision of BNP and Khaleda (See the helpless crying picture of Toimur in front of media)

But he has died politically, like Major Hafiz (A BNP SONGSKAR BADEE Leader and who uttered bad (but facts) word against Khaleda in parliament of 1991-1996) that is why he is crying so helplessly!

His 4 opponents in local Narayangonj BNP politics are very very happy!

Another typical lie of Jamat-BNP:

It is proved again.
Politics of Jamat-BNP is full of lies!

From the very beginning of the NCC election process BNP nominated candidate Mr. Taimur repeatedly told to media that, he will remain and contest in NCC election, in all circumstances.

Only his death can prevent him from not contesting in NCC election.

BNP forces him to withdraw from the NCC election race for the following reasons:

·         When they realized that BNP candidate would be in 3rd position, so they cannot gain anything politically, rather loss
·         To defeat Awami league supported candidate, Mr. Shamim Osman, it will give some political gain to BNP
·         To help rebel AL candidate Dr. Ivy to win easily, then Jamat-BNP will gain most - politically

But it was ultimate & utter political failure for of Jamat-BNP

Both in short term and also in long term!!!

[chottala.com] NCC Pole : Free, fair, quiet

Monday, October 31, 2011

Free, fair, quiet

Agree political parties

Bin Habib and Rakib Ahammed

Leaders of political parties yesterday said the maiden election to Narayanganj City Corporation was largely peaceful, fair and free.

However, their opinions go different ways from there on with ruling alliance leaders praising the voters for exercising their franchise and opposition leaders bashing the government for "compelling" them to pull out of the race.

Parties of the ruling alliance claimed that the election has once again proved that a free, fair and peaceful election can be held when an elected government is in power, if all necessary arrangements are ensured and voters are enthusiastic.

Opposition BNP leaders, however, claim that the government made it impossible for them to stay in the race and they have rejected the election.

Their ally Jamaat-e-Islami refused to even make any comment. Jamaat Assistant Publication Secretary Matiur Rahman Akand only said that they have nothing to say since the opposition alliance has pulled out its mayoral candidate.

Even before the results of all polling centres were out, BNP Vice-Chairman Abdullah Al Noman yesterday evening said people of Narayanganj have rejected the candidate chosen by the prime minister as well as the government. Moreover, the Election Commission has failed to obtain the opposition's faith.

BNP standing committee member MK Anwar said the party had no option but to ask the candidate of its choice to pull out. "Whoever wins the polls--be it Ivy or Osman--makes no difference for us. By disobliging the Election Commission in deploying the army, the government did a disservice to the future of democracy in Bangladesh," he told The Daily Star last night.

He said the Awami League-led government has been saying that they want a stronger Election Commission. "But by not obliging to the Election Commission's requirement of army deployment in the Narayanganj polls, the government further eroded public confidence on the Election Commission in holding fair polls in the future."

He, however, said the BNP left the decision to boycott the polls for way too late but the Election Commission can be blamed for that as well; it was slow in responding to the government's indifference to deploy the army.

The BNP leader said, "Once we learnt that the government declined to deploy the army for maintaining peace during the polls, it became a security concern for our leaders and workers in Narayanganj."

BNP standing committee member Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman said without the participation of the opposition party, the election was held peacefully and a comparatively good candidate of the ruling party was going to win.

He alleged that the government and Election Commission forced the opposition to pull out its candidate so that one of the two Awami Leaguers in the non-partisan election could win.

BNP standing committee member Brig Gen (retd) Hannan Shah claimed that the Election Commission worked in favour of the government-backed candidate and by doing so it has exposed its weakness.

BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the party has no comments about the election. "We have already rejected the election, thus we have no reaction over the result," he said.

Most of the opposition leaders The Daily Star talked to yesterday refused to make any comment about the election.

Leaders of the Awami League-led alliance said the desires of the people have been reflected in the election and it would not have been possible had not the Election Commission played its due role.

Awami League presidium member Obaidul Quader said, "It has been proved that a free, fair and neutral election can be held without the deployment of the army."

"There is a belief in Bangladesh that a peaceful election cannot be held without the deployment of the army. But an example has been set that a fair election is possible under a strong Election Commission with support from the government," Quader said.

He came down heavily on the BNP high command for "forcing" its affiliated mayoral candidate Taimur Alam Khandaker to quit the race in a "midnight drama".

"The BNP candidate was weeping like a child. He [Taimur] has been forced to quit the race," Quader said terming the main opposition's last-minute act planned, unfortunate, and irresponsible.

"Our challenge was holding the polls in a free, fair and neutral manner and it has been done successfully. People have given their verdict in a peaceful environment," he observed.

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad said people never give the wrong verdict and the election proved that a free and fair election can be held under an elected government.

"People are the main factor here. They cast their votes freely and fairly and that's why the election was held peacefully. There was no rigging," he said.

He praised the government for ensuring an environment in which the voters felt comfortable to cast their votes.

General Secretary of Communist Party of Bangladesh Mujahidul Islam Selim said despite many obstacles, the election was held peacefully and the main credit goes to the voters who voted honestly and courageously.

"It has all been possible because of the voters' courage and their firm stance," he said, adding, "I would say it is a silent revolution."

He hailed the role of the law enforcement agencies, the administration and the Election Commission. "Yet, these institutions could not have done anything if the people had not thronged the polling centres consciously and peacefully."

He said it has been proved that if there is a good alternative before the people, they do not choose the lesser evil.

Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua said the people expected a free and fair election would be held and that has been proved through their peaceful voting. He said it has been proved that the government can hold free and fair elections.

Workers' Party of Bangladesh chief Rashed Khan Menon is satisfied with the peaceful holding of the polls. "The people of Narayanganj wanted a peaceful election to give their verdict and they got it.

"It proved once again that no obstruction is effective before people's wish," said lawmaker Menon.

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President Hasanul Haque Inu said peaceful holding of polls has proved that the government did not interfere to help the government-backed candidate.

It is also established that the Election Commission has done its responsibility with efficiency, Inu said, adding that casting of votes by a good number of voters has also proved BNP's apprehension of low voter turnout wrong.

[chottala.com] Ivy becomes first woman mayor of NCC

Ivy becomes first woman mayor

Mon, Oct 31st, 2011 1:09 am BdST

Narayanganj, Oct 31 (bdnews24.com) — Selina Hayat Ivy has become the first mayor of Narayanganj.

She beat her nearest rival Awami League-backed candidate Shamim Osman by a margin of 101,343 votes, returning officer Biswas Lutfar Rahman announced at 12.50am Monday.

Awami League's renegade candidate Ivy polled 180,048 votes, 66 percent of the total votes cast at 163 centres in the city corporation area.

Ivy's main rival, ruling Awami League-backed Shamim Osman, bagged 78,705 or 29 percent of the total votes, while the other heavyweight candidate, BNP-backed Taimur Alam Khandaker, who boycotted the election hours before the polling, got 4,304.

The Narayanganj City Corporation has a total vote of just over 400,000.

bdnews24.com updated unofficial results announced only from the control room of the Election Commission by the returning officer.

Ivy claimed victory when only results of 20 centres had come in, saying it was a people's victory.

Her opponent Shamim has remained indoors since evening and was unavailable for his comments.

The other mayor candidates were Islami Andolan leader Nannu Munshi with 'bullock cart' symbol and independent candidates Sharif Mohammad with 'duck' and Atikul Islam Jibon with 'lock' symbol.

Shamim's electoral symbol was 'wall clock', while Ivy competed with 'pen and inkpot'.

BNP-backed mayor aspirant Taimur with 'pineapple' symbol announced his withdrawal from the polls just seven hours before the ballot was underway following party orders.

Election commissioner Sohul Hossain dismissed the boycott call, saying there was no chance of withdrawing candidacy 'at this stage', and that the commission would treat Taimur as a candidate.

Returning officer Biswas Lutfar Rahman announced the results from the EC control room at the city's Shahid Zia Hall.

The vote count result was also being published at Selina Hayat Ivy's fan page on the social networking site Facebook.

Representatives of the mayoral aspirants were at the control room while mayor candidate Atikur Rahman Nannu Munshi was there in person. Naranyanganj Bus Owners' Association president Muktar Hossain was there on behalf of Shamim Osman while district Awami League unit president Anwar Hossain was Ivy's representative there.

The balloting of the newly-formed city corporation ended peacefully.

A total of 250 candidates were fighting for the posts of general councillors and 56 for reserved wards for women.

One presiding officer was assigned for every centre. A total of 1,217 assistant presiding officers and 1,434 polling officers were appointed.

EC secretariat joint secretary Biswas Lutfar had nine others to assist him.

The EC has introduced the Electronic Voting Machines for the second time in this election in nine wards — 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23 and 24. The total number of voters in these wards is 148,629.

Over a hundred-thousand voters cast their votes using EVMs at 58 polling centres in nine wards.

The EC monitored 20 polling centres from its secretariat in Dhaka on CCTVs. There was also a monitoring panel at Shahid Zia Hall in the city. The CCTV feeds were recorded to identify miscreants, if any.

Lutfar said more than 8,000 lawmen were assigned to maintain law and order at Narayanganj on the voting day. Of them, 4,000 were members of police and Armed Police Battalion, 2,500 of Ansar and VDP, 100 of the Coast Guard and 1,000 were members of Rapid Action Battalion.

EC approved 18 local observing institutions and eight international agencies to observe the ballot.

More than 800 journalists and media workers took out press credentials from the EC. Among them more than 300 were television technicians.
