[chottala.com] LIVING ON TAX MONEY

Yesterday I listened to a college student saying that a rickshawala
has to pay tax while he
purchases his sandals and all the government officials has to live
on that money, all the
secretaries has to buy rice for living and maintain his family with
the money generated from

the sandals of rickshawalas. So, value of living of civil servants
is worse than the values
of sandals of rickshawalas. This is why 99% civil servants are mean
minded and dishonest.
People from low class families join government jobs and they corrupt
the full systems of
Government. etc. etc....

It is true that living on tax-money is not much honorable in
anywhere in the world,
specially in third world countries where daily labors has to pay tax
when they take food
even at low cost restorations. In UK all the civil servants has to
call "Sir" to all the
civilians, in that way all the secretaries and defense officers in
Bangladesh should salute
the rickshawalas as they live on tax paid by the rickshawalas. But
unfortunately,
rickshawalas as well as other civilians are illiterate in Bangladesh
and call "Sir" to
those civil servants who actually live on their money. It's a pity!

After the release of evil politicians and ex-ministers, all the
government offices became
the places like hell again where no job can be done without bribe.
Generally, people who
come from low-class family takes bribe and you know most of the
government workers (clerks
to secretaries) come from low-class families as they don't work
without bribe.... :-(

[chottala.com] Some food for thought? Reason: autrocity

Alrite, you are not so neutral!

During Mughal's regime, you can buy 40 kg of rice in just Tk 1.00. Today, that's unthinkable. In fact, your argument is priceless!

Seikh Mujib's assassination was a despicable act. But, you need to look at the historical facts. Bangladesh was guilty from the birth, mistakes was done in many ways, starting with education.

In '71 & '72, & '73, the golden boys of Bangladesh do not have to write any exam to get a SSC certificate. We got freedom to have certificates either with guns or power or copying! What a joke? Like Hasina has 10 Doctorate degrees, what was her thesis desertation? Who paid for those mail-order degrees? Where is DUDOK?

Autrocity cost the legacy of Mujib! The country was mal-functional(?) from day one!

Freedom is not cheap - for a just and rich Bangladesh need lot more brave souls!

Hello Everybody,

Today is National Mourning Day.  One of the worst assassinations of human history happened this day in 1975.  Let's take a moment to pray for the souls who died on this day.

Here are some food for thought:

1.  Salt was 80 taka/kg in '74, but when Bongobondhu was killed it was 2 taka/kg

2.  Per capita international  loan in '75 was ~ 950/= and 5,000/= during Ziaur Rahman and currently it's sky high

3.  National GDP rate was 7% in '75 which was NEVER achieved later. So why was Bongobondhu killed in '75 ???????  Why NOT in '74 or in '73 or in '72 ?????  Can anybody answer ???

Thanks and best regards.

[FutureOfBangladesh] Letter Campaign About Kuwait Debacle

Hello Everybody,

The attached letter has been sent to various Embassy's of Kuwait (in appropriate format).

We should all try to speak up about this issue from our own positions/platforms.

Thanks and best regards.

-Reshad

============================================

To

Honorable Ambassador

Embassy of Kuwait

xxxxx

Date:  August 12th, 2008

REF:  Current situation of Asian, especially Bangladeshi workers in Kuwait.

Honorable Ambassador,

We are deeply concerned about the recent situation of Asian immigrant workers especially workers from Bangladesh in Kuwait.  A huge number of Bangladeshi workers have been already deported from Kuwait in last couple of days. Workers staged strike rightfully demanding better pay and decent treatment.

Bangladesh has strong political and religious ties with Kuwait; also we had a significant contribution for Kuwait during gulf crisis in the early 90's.  We completely respect the internal law and order systems of Kuwait, but in the mean time we also would like to see that workers are getting benefits per the international labor laws (guided by International Labor Organization, ILO).  As far as we understand there is no fair minimum wage enforced in Kuwait (like the USA and many other countries) and we would like to request the Honorable Government of Kuwait to take necessary steps that would enforce a fair minimum wage as well as good working environment in Kuwait.

We would also like to humbly remind that there are millions of Bangladeshi workers around the globe and they are working everywhere with great reputation.  The agitation by mostly unskilled workers in Kuwait does not represent typical working culture of Bangladeshi workers.  We strongly believe a better working environment would make sure more professional workmanship from our workers.

Thanks and best regards.

Re: [chottala.com] Salute Khaleda Zia

How could Khaleda take such a stand? This is she and her party that
brought 1/11 in Bangladesh.
She did not want to be a voter because it is a clean voter list! Does
it make any difference whether she registered inside or ouside of a
prison?
