A person always victims for rights violations in all-around the world, as a consumers and as well as citizen. Rights violations, fraud, and cheating, manipulations are the real life partner. Although in Bangladesh Government has enacted Consumer Rights protection laws 2009 and many law enforcing agencies taking various steps to ensure consumer rights. Speakers asking violating consumer rights everywhere? Some of the duty bearers not performing rights duties and responsibilities, some of them are blaming to others and trying to mislead our nation, but 16 crow people as whole are consumers any ways. As a result consumer rights violating all the times which is seriously hamper our human rights violation and people suffering basic human rights, democracy and rights to information etc. So, now the time to work unitedly with all tire and be aware about rights and responsibilities as consumers so that basic human rights must be established. Besides people have to be aware, safe and released from syndicates gangs and ill motiavted business groups, who are cheating people, making money in the name of business with out following any ethics and norms of business. This is also need a social movement to change the mind set of the business community who does not follow any norm of business and have social responsibility to the community. Speakers urge the community, if there is any violation of consumer rights please raise voice, submit complain to the Consumer rights directorate and CAB local office and local administrations to fulfill the consumer rights. These were stayed at the seminar was held at Chittagong Circuit House conference hall on 15th march 2012 to mark the World Consumers Rights day 2012. Chittagong District Administration, Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection and Consumer Association of Bangladesh(CAB) Chittagong Divisional and Metropalitan city organized the seminar.

Deputy Commissar Chittagong Mr. Fayez Ahmed was presided over seminar while Mr. Nurul Islam Acting Divisional Commissioner was chief guest. CAB central committee member & President Chittagong Divisional committee was main speaker amongst other Deputy Director, Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection Mr. Zubayer Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Ms. Amena Begume, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Khaled Mamun Chy was special guest. The seminar was moderated by CAB Chittagong Divisional Committee Secretary General Kazi Iqbal Bahr Sabery amongst others City Editor Daily Suprobhat Bangladesh M Nasirul Hoque, Freedom fighter & President Bangladesh Road Transport association Mr. Ashraf Khan, Director Chittagong Chamber Mr. Mazharaul Hoque Shah, Bureau Chief Danik Banikbarta Sk Ali Haider, CAB Chittagong Metropolitan city acting President Ms Jesmin Sultana Paru, Secretary Ajoy Mitra Sanku, Cab Pahadtali president Ms. Abida Azad, Kotoal Secretary Ms. Jannatul Ferdous, Cab leader Haroon Gafur, Haji Iqbal Ali Akbar, NGO activist Sowrab Barua, Social workers Hakim Nurul Islam, Haji Saleh Ahmed, Alahaj Abdul Manna, Jane Alam, Touhidul Islam, Nurul Abasr took part the discussion.

Speakers criticized the business gangs who involved in fraud, food adulteration, price hike and storage of essential commodities to making money and making living condition of mass people critical. Some of them are involved in food adulteration, toxic food marketing and unethical baby food and junk food promotion. speakers demanding capital punishment of business who involved in food adulteration, taxing, use of formalin and chemical in food items which is harmful for human being. Speakers demanding strengthening regular market monitoring, surveillance, mobile court by the district administration, RAB, BSTI and DNCRP etc.

Speakers also demanding monitoring of financial services, institutions, bank, MLM companies and other money services companies by the local administrations and make joint surveillance committee with CAB and media people. Speakers say Unipay2u one MLM company stop by the Government, but thousand of MLM companies now making fraud to the consumers in many names. Speakers also urge Government to come forwards to strengthening consumer movement through supporting consumer rights organization to organize and educate consumers in Bangladesh. Speakers criticize government duel role for business organizations and consumer rights organizations.

Later a colorful rally was also organized to mark the day and it was started from DC Hill and round the main street of the city and end to the circuit house. Many play card, festoon and banner was shown to demanding different slogans. Acting Divisional Commissioner Mr. Nurul Islam lead the rally and amongst other S M Nazer Hossain, CAB central committee, Zubyer Ahmed, DNCR, Kazi Iqbal Bahar Sabery, CAB CTG, Ajoy Mitra Sanku CAB Chittagong city unit and various government and ngo government organization, CAB members also participate the rally and procession.  

Later drawing competition for disadvantaged children also be organized at YWCA School, Pura Colony, Lalkhan Bazar, Chittagong on 3.00 PM.
