Leftist Tali Fahima converts to Islam

Woman who had affair with al-Aqsa Brigades commander Zubeidi, served time for aiding terrorists converts to Islam at Umm al-Fahm mosque. 'From now on she is a full-fledged Muslim,' sheikh says

Published:  06.08.10, 16:13 / Israel News
Israeli left-wing activist Tali Fahima, previously convicted of aiding Palestinian terrorists, told Ynet that she had converted to Islam on Monday at a mosque in Umm al-Fahm in the presence of three sheikhs.

Sheikh Yusuf Albaz confirmed that Fahima converted. Fahima herself refused to comment, saying that she doesn't give interviews to the "Zionist media."

Fahima plead guilty in December 2005 to maintaining contacts with a foreign agent with the intention of harming state security, and was sentenced to three years in prison.

She was specifically convicted of aiding Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades terrorists, including the group's leader in Jenin Zakariya Zubeidi, whom she had an affair with, and was released from prison in January 2007.

The Shin Bet security service claimed that Fahima, who resides in Wadi Ara, planned on becoming the first Jewish terrorist to act against her own people.

Sheikh Albaz, a senior member of the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, accompanied Fahima throughout the conversion process. "I liked her mentality; I like anyone who prefers resistance to capitulation, and Tali Fahima is an example of resistance," he said.

The issue of Islam was discussed during the meetings between the sheikh and Fahima. "I wanted to encourage her and I told her that she must continue along her current path. I also spoke to her about the ways of Islam and explained that the religion stands for resistance in the face of all that is evil in the world," the sheikh recounted.

Fahima eventually informed the sheikh that he had convinced her, and told her associates that the head of the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, Shiekh Raed Salah, was her model.

"Salah accepted her with open arms," said Sheikh Albaz. "From this point on she is a full-fledged Muslim – there is no need for a special ceremony."

Fahima visited Salah in Umm al-Fahm over the weekend. The sheikh was placed under house arrest for participating in the Gaza-bound flotilla.

The Islamic Movement praised Fahima's decision to convert and was quick to publish the development on its website.

Thanks Dr. Sirajuddowllah for your mail. Fortunatley regarding Zia's  declaration I was very much in Chittagong in that eventful March , and my first involvment with muktijuddoho was with a faction of his break away unit. I do not like to play fiddle with history and last of all enter into an unncessary debate at this stage about  something even which Zia did not lay a claim.

Take care and have a nice day.

Warm Wishes.

Dear Prof. Abdul Mannan,

Your writing in "The daily Jugantar" on 18th Sept, 2010 is highly appreciated but I could not appreciate your subsiding the truth about Ziaur Rahman's contribution by his first declaration of independence on 26th March from Kalur Ghat Radio station.

No doubt Gen. Zia was an unknown Major at that time but you cannot refuse and try to ignore him as a first declarer of independence in that crucial moment when the then East Pakistan was suddenly plan wise attacked from all sides by the brute Pakistani armies killing our unarmed civilians and brush firing our sleeping Bengal Regiment armies in the army barrack at a time.

People may make so many untrue self-made stories by distorting the histories about that night of 26th March, but being a professor you should be idealistic and should not disregard the actual facts.

I will be happy if instead of becoming biased you can express the truth boldly. Best of regards.

Thanks. Our job is to point out what we think is right. Myself and like me many others who wish well of her are not her advisors. She has lots of capable advisors.

You are right Mr. Mannan.

It is true opposition politicians can not remove her from power in doing lawful politics.

There are in the villages of Bangladesh lot poor people who love Hassina as his daughter. The great example is Hasmot Ali a poor Rickshaw Driver husband of poor Romiza who bought .7 decimal lands at Mymensingh in the name of orphan Hassina after brutal killing of her father considering her as his daughter.

But her party people wearing Sleeveless Black coats saying Bangobhundu are doing harmful works to make her unpopular.

It is  your good advice to her that she should remember that her father did not do politics depending on Sramic league Chatra league or Jubo league.

He was the leader of common people.

Common people have faith on him & love him.

So advice to Hassina

Be the leader of common people who are Voters Tax & Vat payers.

Take lawful legal action against misdeeds & false speakers.

Subject: carrying any kind of SEEDS

Respected Sirs, Colleagues, Friends,

Yesterday only I  came to know of a case from a friend of mine which is very scary. One of his friends was traveling to UK via Dubai . Unfortunately he was carrying a packet of Khas Khas(Poppy Seed) which is a commonly used spice in some Indian curries and sweets. Khas Khas is also known as poppy seed which can be sprouted to grow narcotics (afeem etc.).

This innocent person did not know that recently the laws in UAE and other Gulf countries have been revised and carrying Khas Khas is punishable with minimum 20 years of imprisonment or even worse with death penalty. Currently, the person is in a jail in Dubai for the last two weeks. His friends are frantically trying hard for his release but are finding that this has become a very very serious case. Lawyers are asking huge fees amounting to AED 100,000 even to appear in the court to plead for his innocence.

Please forward this email to all you know specially in India/Pakistan/Bangladesh . They should know the seriousness of this matter and should never ever carry even minutest quantities of the following items when traveling to Gulf countries:

1. Khas Khas whether raw, roasted or cooked.
2. Paan
3. Beetle nut (supari and its products, e.g. Paan Parag etc.)

The penalties are very severe and it could destroy the life of an innocent person.

I appeal you to create the awareness by forwarding this email to all you know.

Thanks and Best Regards

With Warmest Regards,

Md Mahbubul Haq Khan
Wing Commander (Retd)
