[chottala.com] Re: [notun_bangladesh] Indian Secularism Vs. Sonar Bangladesh

 Indian Secularism Vs. Sonar Bangladesh

Abid Bahar

It seems that the present struggle in Bangladesh is the struggle between groups trying to establish Indian secularism Vs. the other groups trying to achieve the dream of a sonar Bangladesh. After Mujib established the BAKSAL, with India's help, AL was almost thrown into history's dustbin.; and unlike in Vietnam or Singapore, unfortunately, Bangladesh was cursed with its West Bengali neighbour who never help when needed. It remained silent when India secretely built the Farakka dam; now built the Berline Wall. The dadas as an extention of India, always help the AL to promote Indian secularism and they have the Bangladesh mainstream media: through the Prothom Alo, Gonokhanto, Daily Star, preach us "Indian secularism" at the expense of our Bangladeshi Dream- the development of a Sonar Bangladesh.  As the socalled friend, they want us to be progressive and follow them. In this endeavour even after close to 40 years they try to divide the Bangladesh nation with the excuses of the past Jamat/ Golam Azam etc excuses as the main issues without giving consideration to the present problems Bangladesh is facing (its huge population- the environmental disaster caused by our neighbour, border issues, the deep sea border demarcation etc.)

To the blind India-lovers, whatever India does smells like perfume because to them it is a "peace-loving" "world's largest democracy" etc. Contrary to the propaganda, Indian government policy in Bangladesh proved to be disasterous. Mujib's India friendly rule is an example. It appears that Indian people even do not know. The point is India friendlyness is good but Bangladesh has to see its own interest first.

So the struggle continues betwen good and evil: Bangladeshis fighting for it people's freedom from poverty vs. Indian RAW struggle of Nehru's Indian Doctrine to keep us economically dependent (through their local groups who still call themselves as the secularist-susil Samajis but help creating turmoil for their foreign masters).

What Bangladesh needs now is a RAW like foreign intelligence we can perhaps call SARAW (SOUTH ASIA RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS WING) to counter the RAW's destructive works inside Bangladesh. DGFI, the way it is now proved itself to be a total failure. In the growing influence of India, Bangladesh to survive, it needs a seperate foreign intelligence. The Pro-Indian naivity that by seeking friendship everything will be solved is as if living in a fools paradise. As a smaller state, Bangladesh should have its peaceful but enough survival strategy. It is a known fact that in foreign relations, each country's destiny depends not on naivity but to know how to protect its own interests, and survive as the fittest. A seperate foreign intelligence agency will help Bangladesh to develop the inner eyes and outer teeth to fight for its (people's) existance.

[chottala.com] Qaeda wants Saudi king killed over interfaith call

Qaeda wants Saudi king killed over interfaith call

Published: July 28, 2008

DUBAI: A key al Qaeda figure has said Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah should be killed for calling for an interfaith dialogue that amounted to joining a Western crusade against Islam.

"Hurrying to kill this wanton tyrant (King Abdullah) who has announced himself to be a leader of atheism would be among the most pious acts," Abu Yahya al-Libi said in a video posted on Monday on Islamist websites often used by al Qaeda supporters.

The message followed a groundbreaking Saudi-sponsored interfaith conference in Spain this month in which King Abdullah called on followers of the world's major faiths to turn away from extremism and seek reconciliation.

"The call for a rapprochement of religions issued by the (Saudi) tyrant ... is an integral part of the overt Crusader war against Islam and Muslims," Libi said. He likened King Abdullah to a "corrupting fountainhead" that had to be buried.

"This in fact is a call to turn one's back on Islam and ... to look for commonalities with Judaism and Christianity so whatever the three agree on would become the new modern religion which would be allowed to be propagated," Libi said.

Libi frequently issues messages on behalf of al Qaeda which appears to be grooming him as a top group spokesman since he escaped from a U.S. jail in Afghanistan in 2005.

The Madrid gathering aimed to draw Muslims, Jews and Christians closer together and isolate those who use religion to justify violence or intolerance. It was the first time Saudi Arabia, where non-Muslims cannot practise their faith openly, had invited Jews to such a meeting.

The king also invited Buddhists, Hindus and Sikhs as he showcased a more tolerant side to Saudi Arabia's strict Wahhabi Islam, under fire since 15 Saudis were among the 19 Arabs who carried out the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York.
