[chottala.com] Re: [Dahuk]: Re: Indians in GMG

THERE ARE CLEAR EVIDENCES WHERE WE HAVE SHORTFALLS ON TECHNICAL HANDS WITHIN AVIATION /NAVIGATION/SHIPPING.
RECENTLY BEING RELOCATED IN DHAKA AS COO within a Multi National company.STRUGGLING TO FIND EVEN EXECUTIVE, GROOMED WITH SHIPPING EXPERIENCE.
COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS: VERY POOR.
MR ANWAR AND THEIR GONGS presume to HAVING DOLE (UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS)MONEY FM US..IF YOU DON'T HAVE JOB DURING FINANCIAL CRISIS, COME TO BANGLADESH AND DO SOMETHING....IT'S NO USE OF BARKING LIKE DOGS WITH OUT INDEPTH KNOWLEDGE.
AVIATION AND SHIPPING SECTORS REQUIRE VERY SKILLED PERSONNEL WITH WORKING BACKGROUND OF AT LEAST 20-25 YEARS.
LOOKING AT USA : THEY DON'T HAVE SUFFICIENT SHIPPING CAPTAIN/ENGINEERS WITHIN USCGs at present which is the key reason, they flagged out vessel fm US, takes foreign national, didn't plan 20 years back. BIG VACUUM..now Shore based USCG personnel, mostly LALLU PANJU GHORA !!!
MARKETING IS ANOTHER AREAS where we have to gain experience to improvised financially weak company.
AVIATION/SHIPPING: Based on foreign investment with good connection. That's the reason, very few people have that expertise.
If Mr Anwar like fake politicians w/o any tech skills starts making debate on this issue, looking into threads in this forum, outsiders at least GMG beneficiaries/Global customers  will simply laugh...The way Americans used to laugh while they see many FOBANAs in US

There are some people within Islam always try to defend anti-Islamic actions, they are called Monafeks.. During Hasina rule we saw so many incidents
against islamic principles , without any prompt action. We heard false Hadith from our Religious Affaires  Minister of State  that
"Prophet Mohammad(SM) allowed  non Muslims to worship their idols  within the Mosque".. Nawuzubillah ! Our honorable PH D holder Prime Minister mentioned
recently that" may be with Ma Durga's blessing we had better crops this year". Can a believer of Islam say that without violating the rule of Shirk ?
If GMG Airlines did the mistake they sholud be penalized and punished , if not than they should sue the news source. We didnot hear any action from GMG
Airlines yet.
I would like to remind the writer Mr. Anis Ahmed that,  most Bangladeshis are devout Muslim not secular as the leadrship of ruling Awami Jote. Hurting the majority muslims feelings wont help the ruling Jote any way.

This is a sheer rumor .  No one has ever banned saying Insha' Allah . I think this is more a kind of business technique to  get GMG out of business by these kinds of unfounded rumors  GMG  has been serving Bangladesh with her best possible service . Let's first try and touch of our own ear , instead of running after crow which we assume has taken our ear.

Rumor mongering is ethically  wrong , not to say that it is a great sin to Islam . Let's be clear to our own conscience instead of planning  for any kind of debate and debacle in our  air transportations.

Looks like very soon we will have to live by the rules set by others, especially Indians. All of a sudden Insha Allah is a bad word. Emirates Airlines flies all over the world with people from all across the globe. They can say these traditional greetings, but for Bangladesh it is illigal. What could be more worse then, these Indians are hired by Bangladeshis and they work for a Bangladeshi Organization. But they do not hesitate to set rules against us and our tradition.

Please write to the following addresses, that we will boycott GMG, if we don't receive a public apology and restart our traditional greetings:

[chottala.com] Please mark Felani's killing day (7th January) as a protest to stop border killings!

Jan7th, 2012 will be a first anniversary of a poor little girl who was brutally killed and hanged alive (and later dead of course) on fence by India's Butchers Special Force (BSF) - most 'legitimate' criminal force in earth.

Dear bloggers, writers, editors, social network users,

Please raise your voice and let your voice heard in world media about India's heinous act in Bangladesh border almost everyday. This can't be continued!

IT MUST BE STOPPED and DO YOUR PART!

Here is an interesting writing might get your attention (please read readers comments and put your one as well):

[chottala.com] RE: [Dahuk]: Killing Titas for Indian corridor/ transit

Ms. Farida Majid,

Do you really feel that there will be enormous  sufferings as a result of this Titas killing by your favourite great nation India ?
Why changing subject ?
Instead of reacting about the devastation of Titas closing you are attacking personally to benifit whom ?
Be practical and try to do least for our great nation Bangladesh. donot support any action detrimental to the people of Bangladesh .
We must be united to face the challenge of Tipaimukh Dam, Titas Closings, Free Transit to India for our own national interest.
I hope you will answer my point instead of saying irrelevent personal matters.
Dont unite to protect India's interest, rather unite to protect Bangladesh's national interest.
FYI  I am not  Your so called  Adorer Jamai Miah as you mentioned, Mowlana Mannan's Inqilab group now supporting Awami idiology.
Thanks.

Has adorer jamai increased the realm of his jamaiship to the RSS or Sang Parivar of India and is now a paid agent of HINDU INDIA? How is his new wife faring in 'sanctified' Bangladesh? You never know the strange bedfellows in this imaginary game of HINDU INDIA and MUSLIM BANGLADESH.

No one, not even a SANgh PArivari, calls "Hindu" India in India without some fear of violating the constitution.  It is now clear that they hire Zia-piyaris of BD to do that.

[chottala.com] Understanding the Origins of Ancient Bengali Buddhist and the Baruas of Bangladesh

Understanding the Origins of Ancient Bengali Buddhists and the Baruas of Bangladesh
(A working paper)
Abid Bahar PhD

Barua is a name found in both India and Bangladesh. Barua is commonly used for buddhist people of Bengal and Assam. However, there are Hindus in Assam who use their last name as Barua.(1)  Even some proto-historians identify the tribes of Chittagong as being Baruas,(2). During the 1971 liberation war I have seen some Barua villages even put up signs at the entrance of the village identifying themselves as being Chinese buddhists, making the maruding Pakistani soldiers to believe that Baruas are neither Awami Leaguers nor Hindus. Some in Chittagong believe that they migrated from Thailand  and Cambodia or even from China but it is true that some Baruas have mongoloid features. In Chittagong Baruas who  also called  who have been mostly employed in cooking and catering business. Another situation with the Barua people is that unlike Hindus and Muslims, they have hardly and dark colored people. It is a bizzare situation to find history's miracle black box of the origin of barua people. There is no written history about their origins but it is interesting to know who they are? What are their origins? The answers probably lie in that some Barua's are Theraveda and others are Mohaya Buddhists.

Baruas are not from one racial or ethnic origin
------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that Barua in general are not people from an original racial group. "Barua" seems to be a title similar to "Sing" in India in this case the title used for Buddhists people in Bengal before the arrival of Islam in Bengal.(3) From 13th century Bengali buddhists enmass became Muslims, Buddhism declined between 13th and 19th century, but it seems there survived some pockets of Bengali buddhists in Bengal as historian Abdul Karim says they were the ancient people of Bengal. In order to locate them and Baruas in general, it seems interesting to know what happened to the Bengali alike Chandras of Arakan in Burma.

Chandras in Arakan
----------------------------
Chandra kings of Arakan who were originally Hindus began their kingdom in the coastal areas of Arakan before the beginnig of the christian era. They were caste Hindus eventually converted to Mohayana Buddhism by the Indian buddhists fleeing the Hindu oppression afterr Ashoka's demise. Chandra kings built the giant Mohamuni statue which was in Arakan until 1784 when it was robbed by the forces of King Budapaya of Burma now in exile placed in Mandalay of Burma. The Arakani Chandras were the causins of the Bengali Mohayana Buddhists. The name Chittagong was known to have given by an a Tibeto Burman king of Arakan doesn't seem likely. It says, an Arakani king eracted a pillar at Chittagong in the nineth century A. D. with a remark "to make war is improper." It is true during this time a Chandra king ruled Arakan not a Tibeto-Burman. There was no Mogh king in Arakan yet. During this time, Arakan was ruled by Chanda king Shoe Ratan. It appears that the language of the king was not the Burmese Mogh to have the stone say "Tsit-ta-gungin", "to make war is improper" interpreted in Mogh language. This seems a latter tendentious interpretation by the Burmese. This seems more unlikely because to make war improper seems an empty slogan by a warrior king. The original statement "to make war improper" seems more like the declaration of a peace treaty between two parties than the declaration of a victory by an Arakani king. Under the circumstances of the nonexistance of Burmese language in Arakan at the time, instead of the Burmese "Tsit-ta-gungin", it would seem that the Chandra language "Shoukeet Thakong" to the present English meaning "We live in peace" made between two chandra perhaps related Chandra rulers in Chittagong and Arakan in Chittagonian/ sanskrit pali seems historically more relevant.
This Chandra rule in Arakan was going to end when a great flow of Tibeto Burman population penetrated into Arakan with Theravada buddhism and in the year 957 AD. the Bengali look alike of Chandras appear to have lost their hold in Arakan. History is not clear on this period but starting from the 11th century. Habib Siddiqui notes:
"The Anand Chandra Inscription, which contains 65 verses (71 and a half lines) and now sited at the Shitthaung pagoda, provides some information about these early rulers. Interestingly, neither the name of the kingdom or the two premier cities – Dhanyavati and Vaishali – is mentioned. This 11-foot high monolith, unique in entire Burma, has three of its four faces inscribed in a Nagari script, which is closely allied to those of Bengali and north-eastern India."
"The script on the panel on the east face is believed by Johnston to be the oldest. According to Pamela Gutman it was similar to the type of script used in Bengal (Bangladesh) during the early 6th century CE. As to the panel on the north face, Johnston mentioned that several smaller inscriptions in Bengali characters had been added in the 10th century. Gutman however felt that the principal text in this section is of the mid-11th century CE. The panel on the west face, which is reasonably preserved, is believed by Gutman to be of the earlier part of the 8th century. This priceless document not only lists the personalities of each monarch but also some of the major events of every reign.
"So who is this Ananda Chandra? In verse 64, it clearly says that he was a descendant of the Saiva-Andhra monarchs [presumably of Banga or Bangladesh] whose kingdom was located between the Godavari and Krishna Rivers of Bengal, and close to the Bay of Bengal. The founder of this new dynasty was Vajra Sakti who reigned circa 649-665 CE. His successor was Sri Dharma Vijaya, who reigned from circa 665-701. As noted by Singer, and much in contrast to Rakhine claims, Dharma Vijaya was not a Theravada Buddhist, but probably a Mahayanist. The next in line was Narendra Vijaya who reigned from circa 701 to 704 CE. The next to rule was Sri Dharma Chandra, who reigned from 704 to 720 CE. He was the father of Ananda Chandra who was a munificent patron of Mahayana Buddhism and Hindu institutions.(3)

Chandras in Bengal
----------------------------
With the end of Chandra rule in Arakan, simoultaniously from the 11th century we see the rise of Chandra rule in Chittagong. It is true, some buddhists of the Chandra period in Chittagong from 11-13 century could be the original settlers of Bengal and Arakan. However, those were the ones who practised Mohayana buddhism of the Tibatan varirty. History records the existance of Chandra Dynesty in Southeastern Bengal (Chittagong). The Dev Papar of Chittagong was perhaps the site of the Chandra kingdom.(capital of Dev kings). Having said this howcome the Chittagonian buddhists practice Theraveda buddhism (which originally came from Sri Lanka via Mon and Moghs of Arakan) came to Chittagong?.

Baruas and Chakmas of Theraveda Buddhism
------------------------------------------------------------------
.The Chittagonian Baruas seem to have undergone a massive transformation during  the Arakani Mogh pirate kingdom that ruled Chittagong. The Mogh rule of Chittagong began from 1538 AD and lasted upto 1666 AD when the Moghuls chased them out to Arakan. During this period, the original Mohayana bengali buddhists mingled with the ruling Moghs as probably as their cooks, and Moghs also took Bengali buddhists women and Barruas changed themselves into Theraveda buddhists. That is why Chittagonian Bengali buddhists are called both as Baruas as well as Moghs. As for the Chakmas, who speak the protochittagonian language of the Chandras, were driven out of  Arakan quite late by the Mogh kings during the forteen century during Sultani period, who entered Chittagong and were for a while lived in Rangunia and finally settled in the north East of Chittagong Hill Tracts. Chakmas practise Theraveda Buddhist but they are different from the Bengali Baruas of Bangladesh.Baruas kept their mother-tongue as Bengali and are Bangladeshi citizens and ulike the Chakmas, some Baruas perhaps are the aboriginals of Bangladesh.(5)..

Under the circumstances of the nonexistance of Burmese language in Arakan at the time, instead of the Burmese "Tsit-ta-gungin", it would seem that the Chandra language "Shoukeet Thakong" to the present English meaning "We live in peace" between two chandra perhaps related Chandra rulers in Chittagong and Arakan in Chittagonian/ sanskrit pali seems historically more relevant.

[chottala.com] WAR CRIMES TRIAL

WAR CRIMES TRIAL
Witnesses are making disturbing disclosures
Special Correspondent

The war crime trial has entered into a crucial phase in recent weeks with embarrassing disclosures of the witnesses, which are undermining the veracity of the allegations against Jamaat-e-Islami senior leader Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayeede who is now facing hearing.
Sayeede, a consultative committee member of his party and three times MP from Pirojpur, is a leading religious scholar and Islamic preacher of the country. He is standing the trial for his alleged crime against humanity during the Liberation War of 1971 which include rape, arson, looting, killing and conversion of the members of the Hindu community members as a local collaborator of the Pakistani occupation forces.
Sayeede is in prison for over a year when the prosecution has carried out long investigations and put serious efforts to collect evidences of his involvement in the alleged crimes. But the disclosures of the witnesses, as regularly reported in the press now, present conflicting accounts from each other. Their exposures give the impression that these are mostly framed up charges or that the witnesses are speaking on framed up accounts of the crimes without seeing the incidents in the ground.
What is most damaging for the prosecution is the fact that out of 6 witnesses four of them appeared convicted thieves, known cheats and fortune seekers who may have traded off their involvement in exchange of material benefits.
Yet more damaging is the fact that the International Crime Tribunal (ICT) last week asked the prosecution to take back the charges against Prof. Gulam Azam to further strengthen the charges basing on more credible facts and put them before the tribunal. The judges found that the charges are general in nature without indicting his personal involvement in crimes which are punishable under the ICT laws.
The tribunal was expected to pass order on the day to take Gulam Azam into the custody to stand trial. But its return of the charges to the prosecution has not only shocking. Observers feel it is an unusual move from the court of justice.
In yet another order, the ICT has asked the prosecution Wednesday last to take back the charges against Abdul Qadir Mollah and Quamruzzaman, two other Jamaat leaders in the custody, waiting to start hearing. The court cited similar reasons asking the prosecution to further strengthening the charges.
The rights of the accused are not protected here at all, critics opposed to the trial said.
The defence on Wednesday last made sensational disclosures, as reported in national dailies. They were cross-examining the 6th witness in the court. The witness Manik Poshari said he had seen Delwar Hossain Sayeede and a group of Razakars were picking up Ibrahim Kutri, a domestic help and Mofizuddin from his house and then Kutri was shot dead on instruction from Sayeede and later thrown into a local canal. He said it happened on May 8, 1971.
But when the defence produced a case dossier filed by Momtaj Begum, wife of Ibrahim Kutri, at the Pirojpur court on July 16, 1972 in which she claimed her husband was killed on October 1, 1971, by the Razakars five months after the incident as reported by Manik Poshari, Poshari said he had no knowledge about it.
In her case she accused 13 Razakars and the name of Delwar Hossain Sayeede was not in the list of the accused. The defence said, this is how Manik Poshari was using his position to implicate a man who was not involved in the case.
Poshari admitted to the questioning that he was not a freedom fighter, but the incumbent Awami League MP has given him a certificate in this regard and as such he is enjoying all benefits of a freedom fighter.
Poshari said currently he is the incumbent secretary of the Union Awami League and his son is the president of the Zianagar Upazila Chhatra League, the student wing of Awami League. He said he was not present when his house was looted by Delwar Hossain Sayeede but later heard about it.
Syeede is also accused of routine rape of young women and their handing over them to Pakistani forces in the camp. It was stated by two witnesses such as Sultan Ahmed Hawlader and Ruhul Amin Nobin in their earlier deposition to the tribunal that Sayeede had routinely raped Bhanu Saha, a young girl, to make the charge clear against him.
But the deposition of another witness Mahbubuddin Hawlader said Muslem Maulna had lived throughout the period with Bhanu Saha at her father Bipod Saha's house and he did not know if they had married.
Muslem Maulana is now president of the local Ulema League, a front organization of the ruling Awami League. So he is not in any trouble, the defense said. The personal profile of most of the witnesses said they were fortune seekers and anti-social in nature.
One of the witnesses, Sultan Ahmed Hawlader, has four cases in record, all relating to theft. He is not a freedom fighter either; but the incumbent local ruling party MP has certified him as a freedom fighter saying he had fought the liberation war under him on the war front. He is now enjoying freedom fighters' allowances, besides securing indemnity from the theft case, and on top of it using 10 bighas of arable government khas land.
Another witness, Mahbubul Alam Hawlader has two cases against him. He has secured release from one case reportedly at the ruling party intervention while the second case is pending in the High Court. Hawlader is also a fake freedom fighter but enjoying government allowances along with a separate allowance for his second wife, besides other financial benefits. He has a new brick-built house although he had also applied for financial help from the former BNP government and received it.
Another witness, Ruhul Amin Nobin, was exempted from a case relating to electricity pilferage. He also received support from the government to repay his loan to Pubali Bank while enjoying exemption of interest on the loan. The defence claimed he has traded off his service to the government becoming a witness to the case against all such benefits.
The ruling party mobilised its cadres in the capital Thursday last demanding speedy trial of the war crime offenders. A group of five ministers, as per a newspaper report, recently asked the government to put the accused to cross fire instead of prolonging the trial.
Deputy Leader of the House Sajeda Chowdhury said her party will not go home without the trial and execution of the judgment of the ICT. The trial is thus being closely observed by the local and international communities how the trial is moving onward.

War crimes charges pressed against Ghulam Azam

Prosecution asks for his arrest

Ghulam Azam
The prosecution on Monday pressed charges against former Jamaat-e-Islami chief Ghulam Azam in connection with crimes against humanity committed during the 1971 Liberation War.
While placing the charges before the International Crimes Tribunal, Chief Prosecutor Ghulam Arieff Tipoo also placed a prayer for issuing warrant of arrest against the ex-Jamaat ameer for trial.
Total 52 allegations of crimes against humanity have been raised against Ghulam Azam.
After submission of the charges, the tribunal asked the prosecutors to submit the formal charges against Ghulam Azam through the ICT registrar office.
The tribunal will decide on whether charges against Ghulam Azam will be taken into cognisance after receiving the charges through the registrar's office.
Prosecution sources claimed that Ghulam Azam and some Jamaat-e-Islami leaders had close relations with the Pakistani military rulers even before the 'Operation Search Light', the crackdown by the Pakistan army on the unarmed Bangladeshis on March 25, 1971.
Thousands of innocent Bangalees – many of them teachers and students of Dhaka University – were massacred as the military launched a genocide, which continued throughout the nine-month Liberation War.
Prosecution sources also claimed they have proof that Jamaat leaders had met the then Pakistan president Gen Yahya Khan and Gen Tikka Khan, the infamous "Butcher of Baluchistan", and hailed 'Operation Search Light' saying that Pakistan and Islam had been saved.
Prosecution sources said they have found that Ghulam Azam, the ameer of then East Pakistan Jamaat-e-Islami, was the civilian supreme commander of the Peace Committee, Razakar, Al Badr and Al Shams, which had collaborated as auxiliary forces with the Pakistan occupation army in 1971.
