Re: [chottala.com] A joke indeed: Jamaat-e-Islami accuses Awami League of conspiring to turn Bangladesh into Pakistan.

The real history.
In 1947 Jamat did not want to divide India for creating Pakistan and 1971 Jamat did not want to create Bangladesh on breaking Pakistan.
But in 1947 the leader of AL as Muslim league party leader  under the leadership Mr Jinnah had created pakistan in division of India and  again the AL politicians under the leadership of congress leader Indira Ghandi has created Bangladesh of breaking Pakistan
Jamat is a party for can do nothing but AL can do any thing
So Jamat may think  that  Only AL can make Bangladesh a part of Pakistan or a part of India.
It is great Joke no doubt

Jamaat-e-Islami accuses Awami League of conspiring to turn Bangladesh into Pakistan. : A joke indeed

NEWS ANALYSIS

A joke indeed

Julfikar Ali Manik and Rashidul Hasan
It sprang quite a surprise when Jamaat-e-Islami accused Awami League of conspiring to turn Bangladesh into Pakistan.
Many find it amusing since the accuser is the party that collaborated with Pakistan in 1971 to massacre millions of Bangalees, and the accused is the party that led the Liberation War.
At a press briefing on Friday, Jamaat's acting secretary general ATM Azharul Islam said the government is plotting to turn the country into Pakistan.
His remark belies his party's usual line of rhetoric, as Jamaat has always accused AL of being servile to India.
Known for its anti-Indian diatribes and politics playing on people's religious sentiment, Jamaat has hardly ever criticised anything Pakistani in the last 40 years.
Until 2008, this religion-based party, founded in Pakistan in 1941, used to be called Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh. Some political analysts observe that Jamaat had chosen to be named that way because it still considered itself a branch of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan.
However, it renamed itself Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami before registration with the Election Commission during the Fakhruddin Ahmed-led caretaker government rule.
In 1971, Jamaat not only opposed the country's Liberation War but also joined forces with the Pakistani occupation forces, which killed three million Bangalees and raped more than a quarter million women.
During the war, Jamaat used to describe Awami League and freedom fighters as â€Å"Bharoter Char (Indian agent), â€Å"Bharoter Dalal (Indian stooge), â€Å"Hindu, and â€Å"enemy of Islam. It has used the same invectives against AL and other secular forces over the last four decades.
In 1971, its former ameer Ghulam Azam said, "Pakistan is the house of Islam for the world Muslims. Therefore, Jamaat activists don't justify being alive should Pakistan disintegrate."
Jamaat's incumbent ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami, who was the chief of Islami Chhatra Sangha, the party's student wing in 1971, said, "Sacred land Pakistan is the home of Allah for establishing His rules."
Measured against Jamaat's historic allegiance to Pakistan, its acting secretary general's comments on Friday are nothing but hypocritical rhetoric, say researchers and political analysts.
Noted educationist and writer Muhammed Zafar Iqbal told The Daily Star, â€Å"Jamaat always lies. They always cheat and confuse people in the name of religion.
â€Å"This is yet another example of their hypocrisy. Through criticising Pakistan, they want to fool the public.
Prof Muntasir Mamun, an academician and political analyst, said Jamaat as an organisation has been shattered since the process of war crimes trial began.
â€Å"At present, there's no chain of command in their party. Many of their leaders are scared…out of their mind and talking rubbish, said Mamun, also a freedom fighter.
Talking to The Daily Star about the context of his remarks, Jamaat's acting secretary general Azharul said he was just pointing out the â€Å"similarities between the Ayub Khan regime in the then Pakistan and the present Awami League government in terms of torturing people.
The Ayub Khan government in Pakistan, he observed, used to oppress people through various black laws. They even repressed people in the name of anti-adulteration drive.
â€Å"We won freedom from Pakistan and built an independent country so that people get justice. But this government [AL government] is resorting to black laws like the then Pakistani ruler did to persecute the opposition leaders and workers, added Azharul.
â€Å"The present government is running the country like the then Pakistani military ruler, he said adding, â€Å"What's the difference between the then Pakistani ruler and the present Bangladeshi ruler?
The irony is that Jamaat has never criticised the barbaric acts by the Pakistani rulers and the occupation forces. It also has not apologised to the nation for its own heinous role during the Liberation War.
When Azharul's attention was drawn that Jamaat leaders always portray Awami League as the party dedicated to serving the interests of India, he said his party did not mention India's name while criticising AL in the past.
His statement, however, does not add up. On plenty of occasions in the past decades, Jamaat described AL as â€Å"Indian agent and warned the public, â€Å"Awami League will sell Bangladesh if it comes to power.
Even a few months back, on April 7, in a press release, it said, â€Å"This (AL-led grand alliance) government has given up country's interests to India after assuming power through the blessings of imperialist forces.

[chottala.com] Taliban style of cruelity in Bngladesh (Latest update on Rumana)

Doctors in Vancouver say that the eyesight of attacked UBC student Rumana Monzur's can never be restored, but she is positively adapting to the daunting news with the support she has found in Canada.
"I am very grateful for the medical care I have received," said Monzur in a statement issued through the university on Monday. "It had been my wish to recover my eyesight so I could see all the people who have been helping me. I want you all to pray for me. "
The 33-year-old woman was brutally assaulted in front of her five-year-old daughter on June 5 while on a visit home in Bangladesh.
Monzur returned to Vancouver this month with her father seeking further medical assessments at the hands of UBC eye specialists. However, a statement from the university says that after completing four eye surgeries last week to reestablish some vision, doctors found that the damage in both eyes is too severe to repair.
The graduate student has been discharged and is recovering at a UBC family home on campus with her father. She will be reunited with her daughter and mother later this week.
"She is very excited because her mother and daughter are coming back soon. It is admirable how much her father has taken care of her here," Sarah Meli, a close friend of Monzur, told ctvbc.ca.
Monzur's husband allegedly gouged her eyes and bit her throat and nose after a violent quarrel over her studies in Canada in front of their child. He has been charged with attempted murder over this attack and remains behind bars.
The political science student has been coping with the devastating prognosis with optimism. She is not letting the assault deter her willingness to succeed, friends say.
"I am so impressed with the way she is adjusting to the news. I am amazed at her courage because she is willing to go head with her life," Sotonye Godwin-A Hart, a close friend of the victim, told ctvbc.ca.
"She doesn't want to cry anymore."
Monzur has an unwavering desire to complete her master degree and possibly pursue a PhD once she feels stronger.
"I have a great sense of admiration at her strength. She is determined to move on with her life and continue with her studies," Meli said.
The blinded student is already learning how to move around on her own and is listening to audio books for the first time. She will continue her thesis with the support of visual impairment services available on campus and the UBC Political Science department.
The UBC community has responded to Monzur's tragedy with fortitude.
Students, staff and colleagues have lent their voice and time to bring awareness to the brutal assault and have raised funds to cover her medical bills and living expenses in Canada.
Their collective efforts are paying off and Canadians have shown generosity towards Monzur.
"Our campus community is responding with concern and ongoing support. We have also seen an outpouring of support from the broader community," said Louise Nasmith, vice president of students, pro-tem, in a statement.
UBC has collected $61,000 so far through their online donation system. The university aims to collect $70,000 to support Monzur's financial needs.

Subject: Hina Rabbani set to become Pakistan's foreign minister (Pakis copying BD)

This is a good sign...Pakis are changing...Putting foreign ministry to a Woman..with their next sitting with India on 27th july..
M/while ,recently Dr Kamal Hossain visited Pakistan n being greeted by ex-Law Ministers of Pakis and as heard quoting...Bangladesh is far better place from Fanatic Mollahs...He laughed n made comment...It's being too tough to re-shape....Wow...hello Islamist people...Pls keep it it in your mind n take lesson...Sub-continent is in change of Tale-phobia ...

NEWS follows:

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's government has decided to appoint Hina Rabbani Khar, minister of state for foreign affairs, as full-time foreign minister to lead the country's delegation into the talks with India in New Delhi by the end of this month, official sources said.

The decision in this regard was taken by PM Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday and sent a summary for Khar's appointment as the new foreign minister to President Asif Ali Zardari for a formal approval.

The slot of Pakistan's foreign minister was vacant since February 9 when the incumbent Shah Mahmood Qureshi was removed form the post for his stance over the diplomatic status of Raymond Davis, a CIA contractor who killed two Pakistani nationals in Lahore.

In the absence of FM, the country's foreign secretary, Salman Bashir, had to defend Islamabad's embarrassing position when the world's top fugitive Osama bin Laden was detected and killed in a unilateral US raid in Pakistan's cantonment town of Abbottabad on May 2.

The move to elevate Hina Rabbani Khar as FM was made in the wake of upcoming India-Pakistan FM level talks, official sources said.

Khar, 34, was a member of national assembly of the PML-Q party during the military regime of Gen Pervez Musharraf and joined the ruling Pakistan People's Party ahead of the February 2008 general election.

She was appointed as minister of state for economic affairs by the current government in 2008. Four days after Qureshi's removal, she was appointed minister of state for foreign affairs. Like most of other Pakistani politicians, comes from a feudal background.
