BJP & BNP-Jammat same wine in different bottles:

BJP opposes land deal with Bangladesh

Fri, Oct 21st, 2011 1:24 pm BdST
New Delhi, Oct 21 (bdnews24.com) – Strongly opposing the deal New Delhi inked with Dhaka last month to resolve the dispute over land boundary, India's opposition Bharatiya Janata Party threatened to nail down the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government on the issue during the winter session of the country's Parliament.

Advani is currently crisscrossing India campaigning against the country's Congress-led coalition government, headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He made the remark on Dhaka-Delhi land deal while addressing a public rally in Guwahati, the main city in the north-eastern Indian state of Assam on Thursday.

"Enough is enough. We will oppose it (the land deal between Bangladesh and India) tooth and nail during the winter session of Parliament and ask for explanation from the government," said veteran BJP leader and former deputy prime minister Lal Krishna Advani.

Though the BJP protested against the Delhi-Dhaka land deal and staged agitations in Assam, Advani was the first national leader of the party to speak against it, turning it into yet another weapon for the opposition to attack the government.

India's central government has been facing an onslaught from the opposition over a series of alleged corruption scandals that came to the fore over the past couple of years.

During Singh's visit to Dhaka on Sep 6 and 7, Bangladesh and India signed a protocol to be added to the land boundary agreement the two neighbours had inked in 1974. The protocol was inked to settle long-pending disputes between the two countries over some stretches of the more than 4096 kilometre long border.

Advani said that Singh had not taken him or any other opposition leader into confidence before New Delhi had inked the land deal with Dhaka. "Two days before the Prime Minister went to Bangladesh (in September), many of my party leaders and I were invited to accompany him. But we were not told that Assam's land would be given to Bangladesh," said the senior BJP leader.

"If we knew Assam's land was being given away we would have protested before the land agreement was signed between the two countries," he added.

Advani's nationwide campaign or Jan Chetana Yatra was being seen by political analysts as a move to re-position himself as the prime-ministerial candidate from his party for the 2014 parliamentary elections in India.

Bangladesh and India have been negotiating the deals to settle the issues related to enclaves, adverse to possession of land and portions of un-demarcated border ever since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made her landmark visit to Delhi in January 2010.

The deal, however, triggered protests in Assam, with some social organisations and political parties alleging that India's central government had given away the state's land to Bangladesh without taking consent of the State Assembly, Parliament or the people living on the border.

Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi, however, said that the State did not lose, but gained in the deal, which sought to resolve the decades-old boundary dispute between the two neighbouring countries.

Gogoi is one of the four Chief Ministers, who accompanied Singh to Dhaka on the latter's two day official visit to Bangladesh. The others were Mukul Sangma of Meghalaya, Lal Thanhawla of Mizoram and Manik Sarkar of Tripura.

The Congress, which leads the coalition government in the Centre in New Delhi, is also in power in Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram, while Tripura is ruled by a coalition of Communist Party of India (Marxist) and other leftist parties.

The Assam Gana Parishad, a regional political party in Assam, said that the central government in New Delhi and state administration, headed by Gogoi, were misguiding the people of the state, after giving away land to Bangladesh without consulting residents of the areas along the border between the two countries.

The All Assam Students' Union, an organisation with influences in Brahmaputra Valley, staged road-blockades to protest against the deal.

Advani on Thursday said that the central government of India had no right to give away Assam's land to Bangladesh without taking the Parliament into confidence.

    MPA, Public Administration

The University of Texas at Arlington  (19941997)

    B.Sc., Computer Engineering

    Bangalore University (19901993)

    B.Sc., Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics

The  story involving Joy and  Taufiq Elahi Chowdhury is frivolous
with malicious intent and based on rumors. There is no probable
cause to blame them for accepting bribes from Chevron per se.
Any one has the the liberty to raise his legitimate concerns, if any,
to the appropriate authority, not spread rumors and slanders.

US Federal auditing system will unearth any wrong doing. In USA,
even the "senators and congressmen and public officials involvement
    with corruption" are not spared

Cheveron is a US based company and Joy was a US resident,
Hence the action items are straight farword .......So....,
Go ahead ! Make your day ! Report the  "Alleged Bribery
    Crime" to the US authorities........!!!!

It may be mentioned here, a payment of bribe received  by Mr. Arafat Rahman Koko
from Siemens A. G (a Multinational company head quartered in Germany)  to the tune of the
11.66 crore taka now frozen by the Singapore government by the order of US Federal court in

So, you can see that  no one is immune to  systems in USA, if the concerns are authentic and based on facts, not on rumors or slanders with malicious intents !!!!!
The US  Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 (FCPA) addresses accounting transparency requirements and prohibits bribery of foreign officials by US companies
and companies doing business in USA. Chevron or any other US company can
not bribe any official anywhere as per US law. Recently, Enron and Siemens scandal abroad revealed many aspects of this FCPA.

US Federal auditing system would have unearthed  any wrong doings and the company
concerned will have serious damage to its business and probably have to pay hefty fines.

It may be  worthwhile to mention here that "The 2008 corruption scandal that has rocked Siemens world wide revealed a payment of bribe received by Mr. Arafat Rahman Koko  from Siemens to the tune of the 11.66 crore taka now frozen by the Singapore government at the iniitiation of US Federal court. The  money trail revealed the payments were made through US banks.  Siemens AG, agreeing to pay a US$ 1.6 billion fine to US and German governments.

    (3) Joy's 300-million-dollar business in Florida
is based on a  slanderous leaflet and has no authentic basis.
Also, almost six years old and there has been no follow up news after that.
As a matter of fact Joy never lived in Florida and has no business interest
in Florida.  .....  Such false propaganda and` slander is the corner-stone of all
Jammati propaganda......Out and out Gibat is the essense of Jamaat's perfidy.

    FYI, this Gibat-monger  Desh_Bondhu [ IP address 212.82.108.254]
has 2 different lebash. The other one is
Mohammed A ayub57@hotmail.com [check it out both has the same Ip address
and sends mail from DUBLIN Ireland [IP address 212.82.108.124 ].
Jammat's opportunism relies on deceptions which is totally un-Islamic !!!!!

    Corruption Allegations

In March 2010, the Amar Desh newspaper carried a report alleging Wazed received $2 million from the US energy multinational Chevron in exchange for influencing a government contract to install a gas compressor at a gas field in eastern Bangladesh.[10][11] The Awami Leaguedismissed the allegations by accusing Amar Desh of bias towards the opposition BNP, as the editor of the newspaper was a senior official in the previous BNP government, who was in charge of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.

A leaflet recently distributed among the public points to corruption of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina

    by PARVEZ HALIM
Sajib Wazed Joy, son of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, is now a wealthy businessman in  Florida . Having invested an about 300 million dollars in real estate and other businesses there, he has been given CIP status. There are allegations that this wealth is based on money procured through corrupt means in  Bangladesh while his mother was the Prime Minister. These allegations appeared in a recent leaflet titled The Neglected People. The leaflet was addressed to the present caretaker government.
The leaflet stated that it was appealing to the caretaker government which had declared jihad against corruption. It said that the unlimited corruption and greed of a handful of political leaders had been rendering  Bangladesh  into a failed state. It stated that if Sheikh Hasina, one of the most corrupt leaders, was not brought to trial, the people would take it upon themselves to try her.
The leaflet stated that it would take an entire book to list the various instances of Hasinas corruption. It gave a few examples of her corruption, such as:
    l Nepotism and corruption in the modernization and rehabilitation of the Ghorasal Thermal Power Station;
    l Nepotism, irregularities and taking large percentage of payments from other power projects such as the Bhola 20 MW power plant construction and the Haripur 210 Thermal Power Plant construction;
    l Taking large payments in order to procure food grain from  India  at prices higher than international prices wasting government revenue in this regard;
    l Taking about 700 crore taka in bribes using her sister Rehanas father-in-laws firm to lobby for the procurement of eight MIG-29 fighter planes;
l Taking about 200 crore taka from various businessmen and candidates in exchange for nomination in the ninth national parliamentary polls.
There were more instances of corruption highlighted on the leaflet which has been distributed among the public.

SAJEEB WAZED JOY .....A GENIUS OR A DECEIVER ???

    Mon, 24/01/2011 - 12:01am | by FightForTruth
SAJEEB WAZED JOY .....A GENIUS OR A DECEIVER ???
One of the members of this forum suggested me to go Sajeeb's blog and check his resume. I just did that only to be charmed again by his deceptive maners. Here is a line from his biography; "I am also an alumni of the Innovations in Governance course at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government." This is the worst of all the deceptions. The way he presented this makes him an alumnus of the prestigious HarvardUniversity's Kennedy School of Government. The reality is he attended a 5 day workshop (October 28 to November 2) at that school which can be attended by anyone (with or without a college degree) as long as a $ 5,900 fee is paid. These are common money making schemes that many high profile schools in this country presents to people who has the money and want an association with the school.

Drunken driving, unlicensed gun and Joy
Joy, son of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, has been arrested for drunken driving on several occasions, was in possession on an unlicensed gun and guilty of a host of other misdeeds
    Arrests and criminal charges
Criminal court clerk records identify the following criminal charges and arrests of Sajib Wazed Joy:
On June 14 1998, Joy was arrested in Tarrant County, Texas. He was charged on two counts of carrying an unlicensed handgun and one count of driving while intoxicated. He was convicted for drunken driving and was imprisoned for 120 days, sentenced to 24 months of probation and fined$500.
On February 6, 2000, Joy was charged with reckless driving and having a radar detector in Hanover County, Virginia. He was fined and incarcerated for one day.
On March 19, 2000, he was arrested and charged with reckless driving in Fairfax County, Virginia. He was found guilty and given a suspended30-day jail sentence and 12 months probation along with a $400 fine.
On April 29, 2001, Joy was charged with speeding in Rappahannock County,Virginia.
On May 20, 2004, Joy was charged with speeding in Arlington County, Virginia.
    Clouds over love and marriage
During his mothers tenure as Bangladeshs Prime Minister (1996-2001), Joy reportedly got engaged with an old girlfriend from his school days. She was an Indian girl of Sikh religion. Hasina, taking cover of an official visit, went to London to formalize the marriage. Along with the barat of close friends and relations, she even took along cooks of Dhakas famous Fakhruddin bawarchi. Her one condition was that the girl convert to Islam. The girl refused. Hasina was more than upset. She reportedly cancelled all programmes on that day. She shut herself up in her hotel room the whole day, refusing to talk to any one. She immediately returned to Dhaka. The marriage reception never took place, and her entourage, cooks and all, returned home without the taste of biriyani in their mouths.Joy is presently married to American citizen Kristine Ann Overmire a.k.a. Kristine Wazed. They were married in the US on October 26, 2002. Kristine may have been previously married to a certain Richard D Loomis. There were rumours that Joy and Kristine were on the verge of a divorce, but if there had been a separation, things have apparently been patched up, perhaps with the birth of their child.
    Power breeds money
When Awami League came to power and his mother became ruler of the country, Joy got involved in business. There was the Texas-based Infolink International (from November 1998 to March 2001) and Nova BD International, LLC (May 1998 to August 2000). He had links with the SEAMEWE-4 undersea cable pralso involved with Tyco Communications (USA) along with a certain Mahboob Rahman.
He also founded two other companies, Wazed Consulting and Sim Global Services in March 2005. This was after Awami League was out of power. Interestingly, the annual sales of these two companies were only 61,000 dollars and 35,000 dollars respectively.
Yet Joy, in his own name, bought a brand new house at 3817 Bell Manor Court, Falls Church, Virginia, on May 12, 2006, worth about one million dollars. His wife is not a co-owner of the house. He used a fixed-rate mortgage and paid only about 200 thousand dollars (20 percent of the value) in cash. This was a clever move as it hid the real value of the property in terms of cash. Earlier, together with his wife, he brought another property at 4823 Martin Street, Alexandria, VA 22312. The property is worth 749,000 dollars.

It never been make sense to me; what people gain to call bad names to others. Profanity can not be accepted in the civilized society. In democratic society every citizen has right to open up their own opinion. It my not be acceptable to others but it is not civilized way to protest on someone's opinion with all un-humaniterian words and attcking nakedly. We all should have minimum respect and tollerence to each others that could safe society from a lot of clash and conflicts. Please be respectful to others and think one more time before throwing out words from mouth, if you want to be respected by others.

    Dear All,

BNP's much talked ROAD MARCH from Dhaka to Sylhet has proved that the conditions of the road and highways have improved tremendously during this govt. period. Conditions of the roads were so smooth and safe that Khaleda Zia arrived sylhet with her picnic party in less than four hours ! Their leader late Moulana Bhashani used to walk on road or long march, instead of following his path , his so called opportunist followers used thousands of cars burning expensive gas ! Moreover Khaleda Zia's speech was full of lies. Her main goal is to topple this popular govt. by any means to protect her corrupted sons and the notorious war criminals.
Khaleda Zia also mentioned about her intention to transfer power to the young leadership ----- we hope she did not mean to transfer power to her corrupted son ! She should realise that FUTURE YOUNG LEADERSHIP  of Bangladesh rests on SAJIB WAZED JOY, the pioneer and visionary of MODERN DIGITAL BANGLADESH .

    Respectfully,
    Dr. Muhammad Ali Manik

[chottala.com] BJP & BNP-Jammat same wine in different bottles : BJP opposes land deal with Bangladesh
