[chottala.com] Re: [notun_bangladesh] "Mischief in Manhattan" - Raheel Raza & Tarek Fatah

Raheel Raza leads a group of Muslims in a first ever public, woman-led Juma Prayer in Canada. http://www.raheelraza.com/

Tarek Fatah's views  "Moderate Muslims don't have a place where they can speak," he says.
Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Fatah was a student leftist radical in the 1960s and 1970s.
Although he graduated with a degree in biochemistry from the University of Karachi,
Fatah entered journalism as a reporter for the Karachi Sun in 1970, and was an investigative
journalist for Pakistani Television. Fatah left Pakistan and settled down in Saudi Arabia, before migrating to Canada.

Fatah recently said that he regrets his remarks and that he was unfair in slamming Manji's book. He now says that she
was "right about the systematic racism in the Muslim world" and that "there were many redeeming points in her memoir,
which I overlooked in my rush to judge it."

He has stated that converts adopting the niqab face covering is indicative of joining "a cult", and offensive to Islam.

Tarek Fatah's Article: Burn your burka

........
The Canada I came to with my wife and daughters should not be a haven for a medieval, misogynist doctrine that traps women under the guise of liberalism and choice.
It is sad that while the rest of the world moves toward the goal of gender equality, right here in Europe and North America, under our very noses, Islamists are pushing back
the clock, convincing educated Muslim women they are mere corrupting sexual objects and a source of sin.

Subject: [notun_bangladesh] "Mischief in Manhattan" - Raheel Raza & Tarek Fatah question the need for the Ground-Zero Mosque

August 7, 2010

Mischief in Manhattan

We Muslims know the Ground Zero mosque is meant to be a deliberate provocation. It's an act of "fitna"

Raheel Raza and Tarek Fatah
The Ottawa Citizen

Last week, a journalist who writes for the North Country Times, a small newspaper in Southern California, sent us an e-mail titled "Help." He couldn't understand why an Islamic Centre in an area where Adam Gadahn, Osama bin Laden's American spokesman came from, and that was home to three of the 911 terrorists, was looking to expand.

The man has a very valid point, which leads to the ongoing debate about building a Mosque at Ground Zero in New York. When we try to understand the reasoning behind building a mosque at the epicentre of the worst-ever attack on the U.S., we wonder why its proponents don't build a monument to those who died in the attack?

New York currently boasts at least 30 mosques so it's not as if there is pressing need to find space for worshippers. The fact is we Muslims know the idea behind the Ground Zero mosque is meant to be a deliberate provocation to thumb our noses at the "infidel." The proposal has been made in bad faith and in Islamic parlance, such an act is referred to as "Fitna," meaning "mischief-making" that is clearly forbidden in the Koran.

The Koran commands Muslims to, "Be considerate when you debate with the People of the Book" -- i.e., Jews and Christians. Building an exclusive place of worship for Muslims at the place where Muslims killed thousands of New Yorkers is not being considerate or sensitive, it is undoubtedly an act of "fitna"

So what gives Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf of the "Cordoba Initiative" and his cohorts the misplaced idea that they will increase tolerance for Muslims by brazenly displaying their own intolerance in this case?

Do they not understand that building a mosque at Ground Zero is equivalent to permitting a Serbian Orthodox church near the killing fields of Srebrenica where 8,000 Muslim men and boys were slaughtered?

There are many questions that we would like to ask. Questions about where the funding is coming from? If this mosque is being funded by Saudi sources, then it is an even bigger slap in the face of Americans, as nine of the jihadis in the Twin Tower calamity were Saudis.

If Rauf is serious about building bridges, then he could have dedicated space in this so-called community centre to a church and synagogue, but he did not. We passed on this message to him through a mutual Saudi friend, but received no answer. He could have proposed a memorial to the 9/11 dead with a denouncement of the doctrine of armed jihad, but he chose not to.

It's a repugnant thought that $100 million would be brought into the United States rather than be directed at dying and needy Muslims in Darfur or Pakistan.

Let's not forget that a mosque is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims and not an inviting community centre. Most Americans are wary of mosques due to the hard core rhetoric that is used in pulpits. And rightly so. As Muslims we are dismayed that our co-religionists have such little consideration for their fellow citizens and wish to rub salt in their wounds and pretend they are applying a balm to sooth the pain.

The Koran implores Muslims to speak the truth, even if it hurts the one who utters the truth. Today we speak the truth, knowing very well Muslims have forgotten this crucial injunction from Allah.

If this mosque does get built, it will forever be a lightning rod for those who have little room for Muslims or Islam in the U.S. We simply cannot understand why on Earth the traditional leadership of America's Muslims would not realize their folly and back out in an act of goodwill.

As for those teary-eyed, bleeding-heart liberals such as New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and much of the media, who are blind to the Islamist agenda in North America, we understand their goodwill.

Unfortunately for us, their stand is based on ignorance and guilt, and they will never in their lives have to face the tyranny of Islamism that targets, kills and maims Muslims worldwide, and is using liberalism itself to destroy liberal secular democratic societies from within.

Provocative Statement
4 more GDs filed against ex-Jamaat MP
Staff Correspondent

Police last night conducted raids at different places in the city to arrest former Jamaat-e-Islami lawmaker Sayed Abdullah Mohammad Taher in connection with making "anti-state" statement.

Meanwhile, four general diaries were filed with different police stations in Dhaka and Bogra against the Jamaat leader who allegedly issued threats against the government and the state while addressing a meeting at the Jatiya Press Club Wednesday.

Another general diary was filed the day before yesterday.

Senior BNP leader Moudud Ahmed was also implicated in the general diary filed by Special Public Prosecutor Lutfa Al Galib with Bogra Police Station. The BNP leader had attended the meeting.

Police sources said personnel from the Detective Branch of police and Ramna and Adabar police stations conducted separate raids at Taher's party office in Moghbazar and home in Shyamoli in Dhaka.

Syed Nurul Islam, additional deputy police commissioner of Ramna division, said on information, law enforcers from DB and Ramna division conducted the joint raid at Taher's office around 8:00pm but he was not there.

The first general dairy was filed on Thursday with the city's Shahbagh Police Station by Golam Kibria Jobayer, treasurer of the Dhaka Lawyers' Association.

In the general dairy, Jobayer said Taher threatened to use his "reserved forces" against the government when the time comes.

Police recorded the general diary and sent a copy to home ministry, as lodging of any sedition case requires approval from the ministry.

Of the three other general diaries, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Nasim of Shahbagh Police Station filed one with his police station, Muktijoddha Sanghati Parishad convenor of Uttara unit Mohammad Muminur Rahman filed one with Uttara Police Station and local Awami League leader Emdadul Huq filed one with Savar Police Station.

SI Nasim in his general diary mentioned that the Jamaat leader's statement on August 4 might impede the trial of war criminals and create a chaotic situation in the country.

Taher held a press conference yesterday evening at the Jamaat's central office at Al Falah building in Moghbazar clarifying his Wednesday's speech.

He claimed that he meant "increasing public support" by Shakti Sonchoy (power gathering) and Rajpather bairer er janogan (the people who have not taken to the streets) by "reserved forces".

[chottala.com] Pakistan's ISI spending money to screw up War Crime Trials ......

Mr, Ayubi

You are throwing slurs [Bloody fool3] only because I have very  meticulously
exposed  Al-Bodor death squads and it's Jamaati organizers in the killing fields
of  Bangladesh in 1971...... You lost your temper and it is understandable ....

Your modus operandi is very typical of people who have been brain-washed by
religion-traders ... [in India it is Hindutva, RSS etc,  in Bangladesh, and  Pakistan
Jamaati other so-called parties masquarading as Islam-passands ... Hundutva and
Jamaat are the two sides of the same shit ]

I have no personal knowledge about  your  "Pokkhi bahini" episodes that your
propaganda tactics are based on. I have not seen any reliable document
that can be referenced in any unbised discussion ....

In any case, after 1975 there has been quite a few staunchly die-hard  anti-BAL
regimes .... if there was an iota of truth in the propaganda materials that
you are spreading, those regimes would have:

(1) initiate legal proceeding against the violators of laws of the land
(2) At the least they would have published a white papers on those deviations

"No one is immune from the rule of law" ....

In that case, why Khaleda-Nizami Chokro didn't initiate proceeding
against BAL for violation of laws during Mujib Amol ?
[as you try to emphasize). Why didn't they put the issue in their
last election manifesto ?????

The answer is the so-called violations that you are are mentioning are
mean & slanderous propaganda to hide Jamaat's criminal past....
--- the Jamaat is a party of the Gaddar, Jamaat is party of
Al-bodor death squads  & a party of LebashDhari religion-traders.

The Trial issue,  although delayed, has came came forward through
an amazing historical process  ... history of a nation has has a very
weired way of correcting itself..... The punishment of the war
crominals, collaborators and organizers of the Al-Bodor death squada
will raise our national conscience to higher level .... it is late,
but it is never too late ....

You guys can't fool all Bangladeshis for all times .........
The Jamaat-BNP will have the same fate as that Muslim League of
olden days ......
..................  Albeit, it will happen  and it will happen in your
life-time

Bear in mind:  "The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past .."

You are right Mr. Izhar Ayubi :

Demanding the Trial of the criminal Al-Bodor death squad it's
organizers and killers is on my Top priority list ....
......nothing new ..... recall discussions with you 3 years ago in this
forum...

The issue of the "Trials of the War Criminals" has definitely
given an impetus in the BAL's 2008 December  election campaigns
which puts BAL with an obligation to try the war criminals and
perpetrators of crime against humanity belonging to A-Bodor death
squads etc.

Among many other factors, the due  punishment of the Al-Bodor
death squad killers and their operators will certainly ease our
national guilty-conscience and thereby strengthen the foundations
of  our nationhood ..... True Justice must prevail .... give the
scoundrels what they deserve ....... The Jamaate Islami
and it's Islami Chattro Sangho cum Al-Bodor death squad's
murderous attrocities in the name of our religion is a historical
phenomenon. This kinds of phenomena may repeat under a different
pretext or excuse in another stage of our socio-historical progress.....

As  such exemplary  punishments  must given to the war criminals and
organizers of Al-Bodor and other death squads [  Al shams & Rajakers
killers, etc].

Lest we forget and lest we fail to punish these criminal
under the ideological covers our future generations will never forgive us
our faiures ...

Bear in mind past is never past .... The past is never dead ...It is not even past
... it is is catching up now .........

When I read your posts it appears to me that Bangladesh has no problem other than the trial of the collabotators when the country is suffering from multiferous problems that is affecting day to day operation of the ountry. You and the BAL if paid some attention to the problems facing the nation it would have done immense good to the country. I want to know from you as to what good will it do to the people of Bangladesh by the trial of collaborators which ultimately is going to be aborted as was done some thirty five years ago.
