"Nizami demanded the release of former prime ministers Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina in rare calls. "

Jamat's Double Standard:they'd want to be on time for Ugly Pants Night at the country club. Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Bangladesh's past

SIR – Regarding your recent article on Bangladesh ("Guilty at birth?", December 8th). The party I lead, Jamaat-e-Islami, strongly denies any link with the atrocities committed during the war of independence in 1971. It also denies any involvement whatsoever with the abduction and murder of journalists and academics. I would also point out that I was never a member of Al Badr nor did I ever lead that organisation. Furthermore, I ceased to become the head of Jamaat's student wing from October 1971 and did not hold any post in Jamaat until long after Bangladesh's liberation.

Jamaat is a moderate Islamic party that believes in democracy and human rights and is strongly committed to upholding the rule of law. Jamaat's position has always been that if any allegations made by a future war-crimes tribunal against a member of Jamaat are proved to be true in a court of law, then we are ready to face the consequences. In the past 36 years, no one, not even the relatives of the victims' families, has taken any step to institute legal proceedings against the alleged perpetrators of war crimes.

Re: [chottala.com] Attention to ACC & CTG

ACC under the Government should do investigation works to do trial for establishing justice of law & lawful administration.

ACC persons are requested to investigate for catching the real corrupted culprits who are getting the monthly salary, are getting the medical facility & food rations, are getting other benefits & after retirement from the service will get life long pensions & gratuity from the Tax & Vat Payers as Government Servants.

For investigating 1) ACC can go at the police box of Golab Shah Majar & other police boxes where the police are maintaining the record books of the daily money collection account.

For investigating 2) ACC can go at the WASA, DESA, Land Tax, Income Tax & Custom tax offices where the wasa desa meter readers the income tax, the custom tax collectors are sharing 1/3 of the bills, taxes & vats, the land tax collectors are collecting Tk 4 thousands to5 thousands  per mutation case of the land.

3) ACC can go to the other offices where the public paid public servants are harassing the clients to get extra money from them.

4) ACC can not see any where of the Government offices, where the public paid public servant are doing timely their normal work (duty) according to the normal schedules & normal procedures. They do works only to get extra money.

CTG should know that the businessmen, the private organization people & the self employed people are doing their own businesses & are working for their own food. They employee the people who are not employed by the government & they are giving Taxes & Vats to the Government, They are good. They are not corrupted. They are the real problem solvers & economy builders of the country.

The Government or CTG & ACC are needed to understand the difference between the Tax * Vat payers * Government servants * Politicians. The politicians are also needed to understand what difference between the Tax +Vat payers & them.. The employees of the Government are getting their salary are getting their bonus are getting their other facilities & after retirement will get life long pensions & gratuity from the fund of tax &  Vats which are being paid by the business men by the common people & by the self employed  & the persons of private organizations. The politicians are also needed to understand that they are law & policy makers, they are planning to do any developing works needs the money which are of the Tax & Vat payers.

Why are then they (The Tax & Vat Payers) being harassed by the Government servants for extra illegal money?? Why are created pressure on them by the politicians for illegal politic tips??

Are not these both of them corruption works??

Why are not being investigated for legal action by ACC against them who are harassing the people for extra money?

Why do not also form CTG an enquiry committee or do not give order ACC to investigate against them for action?

CTG or Government for the interest of nation economic building should provide proper facility of job basis teaching & job training about the job functions for making skilled & quality educated job expert & should give inspiration including some tax cut facility to the self employed persons, to the private organizations & to the business men to do their own works, to run their organizations & to do their businesses fearlessly without being any official harassed.

Politicians should do lawful politics as law & policy makers. The Businessmen do their businesses. The teachers do their teaching works. The judges of judicial do the trial. The Government protects the people from all disaster guides them provide them facility to live with human right.

[chottala.com] Nizami says arrest looms

Millitary and superpowers backed so called CTG will not only smash our main politcal parties', they will do every possible deals and acts to sell out our nation.

They are doing merely out of their scope, these are not the things they supposed to do rather just get out after conducting a free and fair election within prescribed time frame by BD Constitution.

Nizami says arrest looms

Dhaka, May 14 (bdnews24.com) – Jamaat-e-Islami chief Motiur Rahman Nizami said Wednesday that a move was underway to arrest him.

"I know the move is on to arrest me. But I am not worried about it at all. I have faith in Allah. There are people to look into the matter," Nizami told reporters at the party headquarters in Moghbazar, a day after the Anticorruption Commission pressed charges against him and others in the GATCO scam case.

"I was never involved in crime or corruption so that I should feel psychologically shaken."

"I have been implicated in false cases before," he added.

The Anticorruption Commission pressed charges against 25 people including former prime minister Khaleda Zia, her son Arafat Rahman Coco and Nizami.

Investigation officer of the GATCO scam case, Zahirul Huda, told bdnews24.com that 12 accused in the case were shown fugitives. Nizami and former ministers M Saifur Rahman, Mannan Bhuiyan, M Shamsul Islam, MK Anwar and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury were among them.

Nizami Wednesday demanded withdrawal of all false cases including the GATCO and Barapukuria ones immediately.

Nizami demanded the release of former prime ministers Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina in a rare gesture and said that there was no reason trial of the cases against them could be hampered if they were on bail."

"There is no alternative to the release of the two leaders for an election acceptable to all," Nizami said.

"An independent and sovereign Bangladesh is the result of democratic movement. People of this country were always respectful to democracy. They had never accepted any attack on democracy," he added.

Nizami Wednesday alleged that the government had made a move to destroy "political leadership" in the country in the name of depoliticising.

He demanded that the election be held by October and the electoral roll be finalised by June 30.

The demands also include freedom of all arrested on political grounds.

The Jamaat ameer faulted chief adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed's speech to the nation.

He alleged that Fakhruddin had stepped beyond his jurisdiction and pushed dialogue into uncertainty.

"The Election Commission is tasked with preparing a flawless voter list and holding a free, fair and peaceful election. But the EC troubled its main task by intervening in some other tasks beyond its jurisdiction," Nizami said.

The Jamaat leader said: "A move to turn the country into a 'vassal state' was on."

Nizami said that Bangladesh had fallen victim to a deep-rooted conspiracy by the "imperialist and regional influential forces" that could not stand Bangladesh's successes in the past 15 years of democratic rule.

According to the constitution, such a government could not take any decision on policy matters, but this government had been doing it, he added.
