Faisal,

Sorry to hear your situation. I can understand the difficulties you are facing with. Dont you have anyone to help there? Normally my salary are send to my country. Whatever I need I take cash advance from here to meet my expenses. I am leaving china within 2/3 days to USA and then to canada for delivery my second baby which is expecting on last week of november 2009. I have just taken about 3000 pounds from my office to buy ticket for me and my family. Thats why I can not give you full amount what you have requested. But I will try to give part of it. If you want I can talk with saiful, solaiman or jahasher in singapore and tell them to send some amount and it would be easier for us. We have total 6 batchmates there...

Please tell me how can I send money to you and let me know whether I should contact with the people in singapore.
Hope you will be ok within short time.

Monir

[chottala.com] 5 US troops killed in southern Afghan attacks

5 US troops killed in southern Afghan attacks

KABUL – Five American troops were killed within 24 hours in southern Afghanistan, where Taliban militants have conducted an unrelenting campaign of bombings and attacks against U.S. and NATO forces.

This has been the deadliest year of the war for international forces and the Obama administration is debating whether to add still more troops to the 21,000-strong influx that began pouring into the country over the summer.

The five deaths announced Friday occurred in three separate attacks the day before in the south, where U.S. and NATO commanders have ramped up their operations to try to reverse Taliban gains.

The commander of U.S. and NATO forces, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, told "60 Minutes" the strength of the militant group took him by surprise when he arrived this summer.

"I think that in some areas that the breadth of the violence, the geographic spread of violence, is a little more than I would have gathered," he said in the interview, to be broadcast on Sunday.

Four soldiers died in the same small district of southeastern Zabul province, three of them killed when their Stryker vehicle hit a bomb, and the fourth shot to death in an insurgent attack, said U.S. military spokesman Lt. Robert Carr. The Stryker brigade arrived in Zabul as part of the summertime surge to try to secure the region ahead of Afghanistan's Aug. 20 presidential election.

Meanwhile, a U.S. Marine was fatally shot while on foot patrol in southwestern Nimroz province, said Capt. Elizabeth Mathias, a military spokeswoman.

The U.S. is on track to have 68,000 troops in Afghanistan by the end of 2009, but the Pentagon said McChrystal would ask this week for as many as 40,000 new forces. Some question the wisdom of sending more troops to support a government facing allegations of widespread fraud in last month's disputed vote.

About half of all Americans oppose increasing troop levels in Afghanistan, according to a poll released Friday. The New York Times/CBS News poll found that only 29 percent of respondents believed the U.S. should add troops in Afghanistan. The survey, conducted Sept. 19-23, had a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

In a report to the White House, McChrystal argued that military commanders need to be less preoccupied with protecting their troops and send them out into Afghan communities more. He acknowledged this "could expose military personnel and civilians to greater risk in the near term," but said the payoff in terms of forging ties with the Afghan people would be worth it.

"Accepting some risk in the short term will ultimately save lives in the long run," he wrote.

The light-armored Stryker vehicles were sent to Afghanistan as part of a plan to take over a large swathe of the south. The idea behind the vehicles is that they can deploy quickly over large distances, exercising control over a much larger area than can be held by foot soldiers. However, they are more vulnerable to roadside bombs than more heavily armored vehicles.

Bombs planted in roads, fields and near bases now account for the majority of U.S. and NATO casualties and have proven especially dangerous in the south. With the five deaths, a total of 34 U.S. forces have died in Afghanistan in September. August, which was the deadliest month of the war for American troops, saw 51 deaths.

Bangladesh - George Harrison (With lyrics)

George Harrison - Bangladesh Lyrics:

My friend came to me
With sadness in his eyes
He told me that he wanted help
Before his country dies

Although I couldn't feel the pain
I knew I had to try
Now I'm asking all of you
To help us save some lives

Bangladesh, Bangladesh
Where so many people are dying fast
And it sure looks like a mess
I've never seen such distress

Now won't you lend your hand and understand?
Relieve the people of Bangladesh

Bangladesh, Bangladesh
Such a great disaster, I don't understand
But it sure looks like a mess
I've never known such distress

Now please don't turn away
I want to hear you say
Relieve the people of Bangladesh
Relieve Bangladesh

Bangladesh, Bangladesh
Now it may seem so far from where we all are
It's something we can't neglect
It's something I can't neglect

Now won't you give some bread to get the starving fed?
We've got to relieve Bangladesh
Relieve the people of Bangladesh
We've got to relieve Bangladesh
Relieve the people of Bangladesh

[chottala.com] Condemn the malicious Attacks on Homeopathy [1 Attachment]

[Attachment(s) from Bashir Mahmud Ellias included below]

            SERIOUS  ATTACK  ON  HOMEOPATHY

Dear  all,

Homeopathy has suffered a very serious attack. A UK based group (VoYS) from Sense About Science, dedicated to eliminating homeopathy, recently sent a letter to the World Health Organization asking WHO to condemn homeopathy in developing countries, especially in the areas of influenza, childhood diarrhoea, malaria and AIDS. WHO replied last week with statements from various Departmental Heads saying that they do not have any indication of effectiveness of homeopathy in any of these areas. BUT it did not say that the medicines are ineffective in these conditions. Above all there was NO official circular from WHO.

VoYS has twisted this response and circulated the response of WHO to the media and have amplified the letter as if it is a public announcement from WHO, WHICH IT IS NOT. Additionally, VoYS has stated on its website that it will be contacting the Health Ministries of all countries in the world to let them know about the WHO response and press them to condemn homeopathy in their country.

The BBC online then spread this false item, as WHO Warns Against Homeopathy Use They have since apologized and admitted that it was hasty and mistaken in posting the article as an official statement, without checking the facts and without balancing the article with input from official homeopathy organizations, and have changed the headline. But the original BBC version has been picked up by newspapers worldwide and every day more and more online sites and blogs are copying the article.  If we let this go it will be too late, people will believe this dirty trick campaign.

PROTEST TO THE BBC AND NEWSPAPERS SPREADING THIS ARTICLE:

    1. Please send emails or letters to the BBC complaint department  AND to other newspapers publishing the statement.  Tell them that this headline is false and BBC has since changed the article.  (Below see: BBC response and list of Media reporting the article)

newsonline.complaints@bbc.co.uk
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/handle.shtml

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE HOMEOPATHY COMMUNITY AROUND THE WORLD STAND UP AGAINST THIS MALICIOUS ATTACK.

WHY THIS NEEDS YOUR ACTION NOW--

If you are living in the US or have no contact with developing countries, you may wonder why this is an important issue for you to act upon. In fact some suggest that no response be made and that we continue to focus our energies on our good work.

    However, this attack is different---

    1. This is a group (VoYS) that is aggressively dedicated to destroying homeopathy. They have stated this on their website and in their letter to their members announcing the WHO letter. While located in the UK, they are reaching out to all countries. They have tried to influence India and right now they have specifically targeted several homeopathy projects in Africa. They contact governmental offices, national health ministries, academic medical departments and other organizations in these countries and warn them against homeopathy using distortion and half truths. They use every means at their disposal to disrupt or end the projects. They have only one goal-to end homeopathy in the world and they are effective and dangerous to homeopathy.

    2. Existing homeopathy projects will suffer because of these attacks, hindering raising of funds and initiating research. We are a holistic healing community. When one of our practitioners or one location of our profession is attacked, it is an attack against all of us. Just as we would not turn our backs on treating patients with acute attacks of cholera or malaria, who without homeopathic treatment might die, we should not be complacent about this group. This is a serious acute attack and needs a like response.

    3. These attacks are coming because homeopathy is gaining popularity. We must be ready to stand firmly beside the good work that we are doing and be ready to assure that all people, especially those in developing countries, have access to this healing modality. If we do not respond this could affect each and every one of us.

             warm  regards

            Dr.  Bashir Mahmud Ellias

PEELKHANA CONSPIRACY

PROLOGUE

Entire Bangladesh is convinced that "Peelkhana massacre was the outcome of a long and deep-rooted conspiracy." But there is a mystery shrouding the background of Peelkhana carnage. Somehow or the other, people of Bangladesh do not still know the entire truth. This article endeavors to un-shroud the hidden truth. Purpose is not to vindicate anyone, the pure purpose is to erase the lies and bring the truth to the open. You are not required to believe whatever follows. It is totally up to your judgment. If you believe, you may pass it on to persons who may try to spread the message so that justice, the rarest phenomenon on planet earth, may see light in Bangladesh—today, tomorrow or year after. If you don't believe this article, utter a curse and just put this article into trash and forget it.
