[chottala.com] CHINA CARD not Transit Agreement

China's subtly growing influence in BD is the trump card BD needs to use in the negotiation. From India's viewpoint, this item is closer to their national security, whereas, transit is an economic issue.

The Indian Northeast had become a hot bed of undesired activities, it could become another Kashmir for India as soon as China fuels insurgency there - a national security concern. China's recent public comments are surely scary for India, and others in the region as well. Such comments include something like - 'how insurgents could break up India';'Arunchal Pradesh' being a part of Tibet (and Tibet being a part of .....); to name a few. These comments should be taken seriously because:

1. China could covertly assist the clandestine activities of the insurgents as most of the impacted regions borders with China. (They could had been assisting the insurgency in the past through 3rd countries to create just enough trouble to stifle economic development without creating an all out upheaval. Such stifling works to the best economic interest of China).
2. Most of India's rivers originates in China.....And China could hold back water to India (and BD). This holding back could create havoc and disaster to all the downstream countries.

Therefore, on item 2 India & BD along with others will need to become equal partners and start making enough noise and PR. On item 1 however, BD had already given India a priced possession - ULFA leader. It is India turn now to take advantage of the moment and move BD away from China's influence with deeds not words! BD should frame future Transit negotiations on the premise of Indian national security NOT economics. Such framing will likely put India in a position to act like an elder brother than a Big brother!!

A Blind Fool
Mr. Haider

There is a proverb Morning shows the day.

Really the people of
Bangladesh are being made fools by BAL leaders & BAL politic doers...

It is being observed that the Leaders of BAL Party political activists of BAL party, supporters of BAL Party even the Ministers of BAL Government Administration are blind & expert to supporting India in talking for India & in working for India.

It seems that they have no any feeling for the people of Bangladesh & they have no little Idea what does mean by the meaning of independent & what does get bad effect on Independent by giving transit to India

Their motive is that Independent of Bangladesh means supporting to India speaking for India  writing for India working for India  & creating environment in Bangladesh  by depending in all respect on India to make Bangladesh the market of Indian goods for the people of Bangladesh.

Those people who are doing so are real freedom frighters are real BAL & others who say any thing in favor of Bangladesh or Independent of Bangladesh they must be rajakars or Jamati or BNP.

Yes Mr. Rabby, we are indeed fools and are also blind but we are not against the country in any way. If giving opinions is a crime and considered anti-state then surely we must be imprisoned.

If you do not mind, kindly allow me to point out that Ms. Hasina and her party is in power just for an year and it's literally not possible to attain all goals within such a short time. Let's wait and see. If BAL does not fulfill their assurances then we shall vote her out during the next elections. The people of Bangladesh, unfortunaely for many, have become much more polically knowladgeable, not blindsided.

Food prices, the world over have increased considerably, if you follow the world news, therefore Bangladesh is no exception.
Education has increased manifold, not because of BAL or BNP but because have become a little more intelligent and strive for education. In the BNP time we saw a huge increase in Madrasa education, which unfortunately does not benefit the mass public, well Madrasa spread has reduced, so you may have a point there.
World records shows that Bangladesh is doing extremely well in Family Planning scheme and the population is in check, that's because of hardwork of many NGO's not BNP or BAL, so what's your point?
Any free citizen, with the capacity and connection can play golf, I did not know that there were restictions on recreations and games, so why write on trifling matters when there are millions of other legitimate points.

Please do not sing like Ms. Zia and Mr. Delwar Hossain that Bangladesh is sold out and Ms. Hasina is doing her best to give out the country to India, lest you forget, Bangladesh is also Ms. Hasina's country and her family paid dearly for Bangladesh.

Finally sir, I am not any supporter of BAL and I do not like the way Ms. Hasina is adamant to hang some people, just as Late Ziaur Rahman did in his time.

A Blind Fool

Dear Dina Khan,

It's amusing to read your postings. We all have somewhat stressful lives and it's relaxing to note your humorous writings.

If Bangladesh Awami League is not doing politics then it must be Bangladesh Nationalist Party who are doing politics. BNP was surely doing politics during it's ruling tenure.  We, the public, have witnessed it, felt it, endured it and suffered it.

It's strange to note how BNP and it's supporters hate India, so everything which BAL does is for India and BAL becomes the agents of India. How sad. But what progress did BNP do in their term, not even extra electrictity, gas or oil. The KDA plan in Anowara, Chittagong was held up for years as KDA refused to pay Mr. Tariq his dues. More that 1000 people could be employed there. There are many many instances were development was held up just because payment was not secured. The people lost, but who cares for the people of Bangladesh, we are merely pawns of the powers. BAL may be the agents of India and BNP becomes the agents of Pakistan.

Hartal, it the tool used by the opposition party, it was there in the past, it is here in the present and shall be in the future. As soon as BNP gets enough support we shall see it, so please be patient.

Dina, kindly grow up and try and learn a little history.

Regards.

Haider

Actually
BAL leaders are not doing politics & are not working for the interest to the people of Bangladesh
They are doing Poly-Tricks how can go in power for looting the public money.
Actually they are real hijakars looters & faithful agents of India...
So they are always doing hartal works, breaking burning closing Mills Industries, destroying education infrastructures when they are not in power.
They are working as open secret agents of India when they are in power so that India can help BAL to stay in power.
For this reason BAL ministers BAL politicians are speaking for India & are doing works for the interest of India not speaking for the people of Bangladesh & not doing works for the interest to the people of Bangladesh They are expert in making fool the people of Bangladesh by lying & by miss interpreting. ...

Transit Agreement only Through National Referendum
Abid Bahar
Hasina's achievements is nothing but all talk and little action. The joint statement by the two countries was about future concerns only:
"The two Prime Ministers witnessed the signing in their presence of the following accords:
a. Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal Matters
b. Agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons
c. Agreement on Combating International Terrorism, Organized Crime and Illicit Drug Trafficking
d. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Power Sector
e. Cultural Exchange Programme"
Bangladesh needs to remove Hasina's puppet government through mass Andolon: Hasina was chosen by the 1/11  agents through the digital deception is now puttling shakles on Bangladesh; She has no right to give India transit for free.
Transit Agreement could only be done with mandate from people and only Through a National Referendum.
 India is fooling us twice.

[chottala.com] Transit Agreement only Through National Referendum‏

Dear chottala readers,

To summerise the debate put forward by different learned writers about "Transit Agreement only Through National Referendum"‏‏ the political leaders of our country irrespective of BAL and BNP, it became evident that the BAL leaders are doing Poly-Tricks rather Politics as mentioned by dina khan. BNP is not in power now. BAL is in power at present acting as open secret agents of India by making fool the people of Bangladesh by lying and by miss interpreting so that India can help BAL to stay again in power in future. While collaboration with Pakistan is a matter of the past which may not harm the national interest of Bangladesh any more. By trailing the activities of BNP in the past to hide the wrong doings of BAL, is another types of mistake what BAL is doing now to make the public fool.  Can Mr. Hyder (lost dream) contradict any of the points mentioned below by different writers?

(1) dina khan: According to dina khan the motive of Independent of Bangladesh means supporting to India, speaking for India,  writing for India, working for India  and creating environment in Bangladesh  by depending in all respect on India to make Bangladesh the market place of Indian goods and to give transit and corridor to India. Those who objects are razakars or Jamati or BNP and those who favours are real freedom frighters and are real BAL.

(2) Mr. Rabby: According to Mr. Rabby - how these UGLY people forget about the last ruling period of BAL?- where manik - a "Sonar Cheley" made century of rape, where Jainal Hajari is introduced as white/pure gentleman (fuler moto pobitro) by Hasina, where this lady calls for 10 dead against 1 (Ektar boodle doshta lash felbe)?? Where HASINA buys mig 29 spending millions of dollars where and around 60 % people under poverty?  Where millions of dollars spent for new warship and crores of people do not know how they can manage food for tomorrow??

(3) Abid Bahar: According to Mr. Abid Bahar Hasina's achievements is nothing but all talks and little action. The joint statement by the two countries was about future concerns only. "The two Prime Ministers witnessed the signing in their presence of the following accords: Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal Matters, on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, on Combating International Terrorism, Organized Crime and Illicit Drug Trafficking, Understanding on Cooperation in Power Sector, Cultural Exchange Programme". She has no right to give India transit for free. Transit Agreement could only be done with mandate from people and only Through a National Referendum. India is fooling us twice.

Well Mr. Hyder (lost dream) how you can deny all those facts as mentioned above by different learned writers in this column.

Dowllah.

[chottala.com] Only shrinks can explain Israel's behavior

Only Shrinks Can Explain Israel's Behavior

By Gideon Levy

How can a nation that has so desperately fought for its international image appoint Lieberman as its No. 1 diplomat?

Our wild world of crime has recently been sent for observation. From the bodyguard of the IDF Chief of Staff to the killers of their own children - all have been sent for observation. The time has come, as is the custom around here, to send the country for observation, too. Maybe with ongoing treatment from specialists, the diagnosis that will save us can be made.

There are numerous reasons for the observation. A long series of acts that have no rational explanation, or really any explanation whatsoever, raise the following suspicions: a loss of touch with reality; temporary or permanent insanity, paranoia, schizophrenia and megalomania; memory loss and loss of judgment. All of this must be examined, under careful observation.

The psychiatric specialists might be so kind as to try to explain how a country with leaders committed to a two-state solution continues to direct huge budgets toward building more settlements in territories it intends to vacate in the future.

What explanation could there be, if not from the psychiatric realm, for a 10-month halt to residential construction in the settlements, to be immediately followed by more construction? How can a country be so tightfisted when it comes to healthcare spending on its citizens, whose poor are getting poorer - and yet when a portion of the roads in the West Bank are already deemed as dangerous, they build more and more roads there leading from nowhere to nowhere?

They should explain how the state prosecutor can announce his intention to expropriate more privately-owned Palestinian land at the settlement of Ofra - the "largest illegal settlement in the territories" (in the words of the defense minister's adviser on settlement issues) - when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his address at Bar-Ilan University last year, explicitly committed not to do so, and President Shimon Peres did more of the same in a meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

They should explain what lies behind the decision to examine annexing Highway 443, which runs through the West Bank, as Israeli territory - as a way of defeating the recent High Court of Justice ruling opening it to Palestinian motorists. How can a country that preaches the rule of law dare outfox the High Court through "bypass" laws? And how have an insignificant minority - the settlers - sown fear and managed to extort the country for so many years?

Psychiatric specialists should make clear how a country that's been dealt a report as potentially disastrous for it as the Goldstone report can so adamantly and stubbornly refuse to convene the commission of inquiry the report provides as an escape clause. How can a nation that has so desperately fought for its international image and standing, and which is so dependent on the world's benevolence, appoint such a thuggish and violent figure as Avigdor Lieberman as its No. 1 diplomat? Half the world is closed to the foreign minister and we suffer the consequences.

Why didn't Israel consider presenting, even through some illusion, a nicer face to the world than Lieberman's threatening visage? Why doesn't a country so ostracized by so much of the world not ask itself, even for a moment, what part it played in shaping that position of isolation, from which it simply attacks and points fingers at its critics? How can a society which has already existed with a cruel occupation in its backyard for two generations refuse to deal with it, continue feeling so good about itself and evade any kind of self-examination or even an inkling of moral equivocation?

What kind of explanation can be given for the fact that a nation with a clear secular majority has no system for civil marriage, no buses or trains operating on Shabbat? How in such a country are wealthy municipal governments required to transfer funds to religious councils, of all places, rather than other needs? How can a country that has to deal with a domestic Arab minority which has maintained surprising loyalty to the country for more than 60 years do everything to put it down, humiliate and exclude it, treat it unfairly and engender a sense of frustration and hatred within it?

Can it be rationally explained how a country, to which all of the Arab nations have presented a historic peace proposal, refuses to even discuss this? It is a country that the president of Syria (whose major ally, Iran, is threatening Israel) is begging to come to a peace agreement with, yet it remains insistent in its refusal.

Only psychiatric experts could possibly explain how the continued occupation of the Golan Heights and the missed opportunities for peace relate to security or logic. At the same time, they should try to explain the connection between the sanctity of historic sites and sovereignty over them. And above all, they should clarify how such a smart and talented society participates in this march of folly without anyone objecting.

True, it's a difficult case to figure out - all the more reason to recommend the country be sent for observation.
