[chottala.com] Indian songster Mrinal Chakraborty passes away



Eminent playback singer of West Bengal Mrinal Chakraborty passed away last night (22 june 2011) at about 10 p.m. at a local clinic at Kolkata after suffereing from old age illness. His wife Mrs. Uma Chakraborty has informed the death news over phone today morn to some close acquaintances at Chittagong.

Among his many romantic and mystical bangla songs sung by him in the sixties and seventies of the last century, khola janalar dhare, kotha dao vulbe nago, ke jeno amai dake, hotath haoar moto, ogo marami shono marami, etc stirred the heart and captuires the mind in nostalgia.

Let us wish peace for the departed soul of the legend of music.
