Re: [chottala.com] BREAKING NEWS> Water Crisis in Bangladesh.

It is not difficult at all.

You change your thought, make idea & you can change Bangladesh. Average eighty millions people of Bangladesh are working every day. If they change their thought & make some idea, they can implement these programs very easily.

The Government of Bangladesh & the elected Political leaders are needed to be some honest active quality persons for making the idea & the plan with good intention of implementation the plan.

At every year in Bangladesh the old road developing works & the new roads constructing works are being done by the local elected councils.

But they have no any good idea or constructive good plan.

These construction works can be done after making some good thoughtful idea & plan so that the execution of the rivers canal beels jeels & ponds digging plan & roads making works plan will be very easy & very profitable.

First of all it is required to think for making the idea & plan to make the country's transport system most of the places where it is possible roads transport & water transport side by side any distance of the country so that by digging the rivers & canals all the mud can be placed both sides of the rivers & canals for building the high raise roads for catching the flood & the rain waters & the roads can be used for bus car or trains transportations & the rivers can be used as water transportations.  For protecting the rivers & roads trees can be planted on both sides of the rivers & the roads.  The waters of the rivers can be used for agricultural irrigation purposes fish cultivation & other requirements. The country's cities, markets, industry & other commercial areas will be on the road sides & on the rivers sides through out the country.

The Authority of Bangladesh Government & the political leaders of Bangladesh are needed to make good plan to know to learn how to catch the flood water & the rain water for facing the requirements to the people of Bangladesh. They should learn to know that Bangladesh is a Water Resource Country

Only they are now required to learn for earning the technical knowledge how to catch the flood water & the rain water for using the water in the whole year for fulfillment of the Country’s water requirements.

In this purpose for catching the flood water & the rain water the Government of Bangladesh can dig the rivers canals beels jeels & ponds through out the country.

They can make high roads on both sides of the rivers, canals, beels, jeels, ponds & near the sea side for protecting the water.

They can make high roads throughout the country for keeping the water inside the land of the country.

They also can plant trees both sides of the roads for protecting the roads & can cultivate fish in the rivers canals, jeels beels ponds & can use the rivers & the roads for transport services.

Myanmar boosts border security: Bangladesh ( BD-Web News 17.3.2009 )
DHAKA (AFP) — Military-ruled Myanmar has reinforced its border with Bangladesh, an official said Tuesday, signalling renewed tensions between the neighbours after a dispute about a stretch of resource-rich sea.
"It looks as though they are preparing to build a fence today or tomorrow. We have told the authorities in Dhaka and they are on alert," Colonel Abdul Khaleque, of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) paramilitary border force, told AFP.
He said Myanmar had also stationed more troops on the border.
The Dhaka-based English-language Daily Star, citing defence sources, said Myanmar had also sent "a number of China-made naval ships close to its maritime boundary with Bangladesh."
A tense stand-off between the countries, who share a 200-kilometre (125-mile) porous land border, flared in November when Myanmar escorted a South Korean exploration company into a disputed stretch of the Bay of Bengal.
Both countries deployed their navies to the waters, prompting high-level diplomatic contacts to prevent the situation escalating dangerously.
Last month thousands of BDR guards staged a bloody mutiny in the Bangladeshi capital, killing more than 70 people including 56 senior army officers, prompting India to tighten security on the border it shares with Bangladesh.
Illegal entry into Bangladesh by thousands of ethnic Muslim Rohingya people fleeing poverty, abuse and repression in western Myanmar every year is also a source of tension between the two countries.

[chottala.com] Guilt By Association? Tanbir ousted

Tanbir ousted

Tue, Mar 17th, 2009 10:17 pm BdST

Dhaka, Mar17 (bdnews24.com)—BNP standing committee member Chowdhury Tanbir Ahmed Siddiky has been stripped of his party membership, policymakers decided Tuesday.

"He has been relieved of all party posts, including standing committee membership and primary membership," said office secretary Rizvi Ahmed emerging around 10pm in the middle of a meeting.

"The decision was made in line with the party constitution," he said.

The party's highest policy-making body, convened Tuesday evening to decide the fate of the senior BNP figure, embroiled in controversy centering on his son's allegation against party chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The meeting, chaired by Khaleda at her Gulshan office, began just after 7pm and was still going on at 10pm.

Tanbir has insisted that the charge his son made against the chairperson was false and baseless.

He told bdnews24.com earlier in the day: "I am upset. Such a statement tarnished the party's image. I condemned the statement."

Son's allegation

In a press conference on Mar 9, in the presence of his father, Irad Ahmed Siddiky alleged that BNP chief Khaleda Zia had sought Tk 5 crore from him in return for the Dhaka mayoral ticket from the party.

Irad called incumbent mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka, and former mayors BNP's Mirza Abbas and AL's Mohammad Hanif "all corrupt", who "failed to deliver".

He also called the BNP chairperson's adviser, ASM Hannan Shah, the "'bastard' child of democracy".

He said none among Khoka, Abbas, Hannan and former FBCCI chief Abdul Awal Mintoo—likely BNP picks for the mayor race—was acceptable.

Hannan Shah last Sunday filed a Tk 50 crore defamation suit against Irad.

The allegations also sparked grievances among party leaders and activists, who have demanded Tanbir's expulsion. Party supporters have also burnt effigies of Tanbir and Irad in demonstrations.

BNP notice to father

The standing committee in a meeting on Mar 10 had given Tanbir 72 hours to explain why any action should not be taken against him, in line with the party constitution, for breaching discipline.

Tanbir replied to the show cause notice last Friday that was placed in Tuesday's meeting, said BNP joint secretary general Nazrul Islam Khan.

"I explained all in my written statement," Tanbir told bdnews24.com.

Irad gets bail

Meanwhile, the High Court granted Irad two-month anticipatory bail Tuesday in the defamation case filed by Hannan Shah.

Irad surrendered to the court just after 2pm, after an arrest warrant was issued against him on Sunday in connection with the case.

[chottala.com] Anticorruption Commission sues Coco over money laundering

ACC sues Coco over money laundering

Tue, Mar 17th, 2009 4:59 pm BdST
Dhaka, Mar 17 (bdnews24.com) – The Anticorruption Commission sued Tuesday Arafat Rahman Coco, younger son of opposition leader Khaleda Zia, on charges of money laundering, police said.

The officer in charge of Kafrul Police Station, Salahuddin Arshed, told bdnews24.com ACC deputy director Abu Sayeed filed the case at around 4:30pm.

Arshed said the ACC will investigate the case and if found guilty, he may be sentenced to seven years in jail.

The case, filed under Money Laundering Prevention Act 2009, accuses Coco of laundering stolen funds worth nearly US $ 9.32 lakh and Singapore $ 28.85 lakh to Singapore.

An accused in GATCO and other cases, Coco is receiving treatment at Bangkok on parole granted on July 19 last year after he fell sick.

The government extended his parole by a month on Mar 15.

The antigraft body also served a notice earlier in the day on BNP vice chairman and Khaleda's brother Sayed Eskander, giving him just seven days to come up with a statement of his assets and property.

A senior ACC official told bdnews24.com that the notice had already been sent to his home address in the capital's Baridhara.

This is the first such notice issued by the ACC since the end of the military-installed two-year emergency government.
