[chottala.com] Re: [notun_bangladesh] Kader Siddiqui ki koi?

 Dear All

Kader Siddique is an embrassment to our country!

See below [Just a tip of the iceberg]:

In the week of 16th december 1971 when the whole nation was celebrating the victory, on 18
December 1971 Abdul Kader Siddique and his troops, Kaderia Bahini killed more than 50
razakers/biharies at Paltan Maidan adjacent to Dhaka Stadium by bayoneting. Eminent Journalist
Oriana Fallaci /  renowned photographer William Lovelace was among many eye wittnesses of this
killings. Kader Siddiqui and his group continued amassing fortune through looting under the cover
of  "vigilante justice" for next two months in Mymensingh and Tangail districts.

A picture is more than thousand words:

  •  When the political scenerio was changed after 15th August 1975, the bilateral relationship got soared, mainly because of India's negative attitude towards the new Govt of Bangladesh. They started giving armed training and along with residential and logistic support to some miscreants, who were opposing the new govt. One of such beneficiary was Bongo Bir Kader Siddiqui, who along with his companions were engaged in armed conflicts with Bangladesh armed forces for a long time.   [Mushfiq Prodhan - in http://www.shodalap.com/MP_anti_India.htm]

  • Suddenly Indian media and the press started giving unprecedented coverage to one of the freedom fighter named Kadar Siddiqui. Intriguingly he was blown up out of all proportions. We all got surprised. Kadar Siddiqui was a Naik in 1 East Bangal Regt. He was dismissed on disciplinary ground. It was really very puzzling why India should give such publicity to a man like Kadar Siddiqui who was nothing very exceptional other-wise and not even known to many till such propaganda was launched. The mystery got unfolded only after the political change of 15th August 1975. After the historic revolutionary change of government Mr. Kader Siddiqui from Tangail sent a telegram to the then President Khandakar Mushtaq Ahmed. As his telegram failed to get any response, Mr. Siddiqui decided to run away to India and later with the assistance of the Indian authorities and agencies got involved into anti state cross border activities. Due to such nefarious activities one officer and two soldiers of Bangladesh army lost their lives in an encounter. During President Ziaur Rahman's time he was tried in absentia and was convicted. Since then he lived in India taking political asylum.  {Major Dalim]
  •  After Sheikh Mujib was assassinated, they re-created the 1971 vintage Kader Bahini led by the infamous Kader Siddiqui who operated from Indian territory from 1975 to 1985 and constantly troubled the Zia Regime (and later the Ershad regime) with many instances of terrorism. Dear Mr. Syed Aslam,

Do you have any documents that shows that Bangobir Kader Siddiqui really treated the rajakars badly during Dec 1971 to Jan 1972?

Could you please provide me if you have.

Thanks

Mr. Ayubi

With all due respect to Bangabir Kader Siddiqui for his contribution
to our liberation war, I must say that he is a great Flip-Flop ....
Do you really want to know how he treated the Razakers immediately
after our Nations victory over the Pakistani occupation?
[in December 1971-January 1972].

Now, all on a sudden why this change of heart...?
Is there "another vested interest" that is promoting
"politics of  unity between Razakar and Muktijodhdha
camps" ?

Kader Siddiqui asks EC to bar war criminals
Friday, 29 February 2008

Staff Correspondent

Krishak Sramik Janata League president Kader Siddiqui asked the Election Commission Thursday to directly disqualify acknowledged war criminals from elections instead of awaiting a court order.

"The Jamaat-e-Islami is recognised as a party formed by the anti liberation-war forces and war criminals. Why should they receive political recognition?"

Kader asked the EC in the second round of electoral reforms talks. "We are not saying that a religious person cannot enter politics, but war criminals and religion-based parties are not the same thing," he said.

Criticising Jamaat-e-Islami's choice of election symbol, he said: "In the Quran the scale is the symbol of justice and truth, as well as a religious symbol." Kader proposed the EC cancel its use as an election symbol.

He said the electoral reforms dialogue were 90 percent successful, but added that it would be a total failure if the commission could not hold a dialogue with BNP. He also said that the commission did not have the authority to decide which faction was valid, and that the EC could invite both factions.

Chief election commissioner ATM Shamsul Huda replied: "The matter of holding talks with BNP is pending a court verdict." "We do not want to comment on it." "We don't want any party to split. We don't want to be involved in any party feud," Huda said. On the issue of disqualifying war criminals, the CEC said: "In our draft proposals we have already proposed that war criminals should be put on trial in court."

"No convicted candidate can contest in the elections." The party raised a number of proposals including lifting the state of emergency, allowing election posters at designated sites, allowing election campaigning from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm, relaxing registration conditions for parties, and not to delimit constituencies right now.

It also asked the EC to allow expatriates to run overseas party offices. A 10-member KSJL delegation was present at the dialogue, also attended by election commissioners M Sakhawat Hossain and Mohammad Sohul Hossain.
