FW: [chottala.com] Chittagong 1971

Thanks Mr. Helal U Ahmed,

For your raising the question in the right moment about ignoring the name of the first declarer of independence of Bangladesh by the then Major Ziaur Rahman. We have noticed so many times our so called columnist like A Ga Cha from London and many other learned columnists like him intentionally or unintentionally try to ignore the name of late Ziaur Rahman although mass people of that time listened the voice of Ziaur Rahman from Kalur Ghat Radio Station (commonly known as Kalur Ghat Betar) and thus those so called learned columnist tried to distort the history for their own selfish motivation to mislead and thereby used to bias our future generation only to get some simple benefits. Announcement by Akash Bani Calcutta repeatedly broadcast the declaration of Ziaur Rahman by the news reader late Dev Dulal Bondhopaddya at that time was the clear proof and example of that declaration by Late Ziaur Rahman. As I am now running 72 yrs we were the real history of that time as I after qualifying PSC (presently BCS) got my first posting as lecturer of Pharmacology in Chittagong Medical College at that time were the witness like many others during our time of those incidents. During our student lives as we were follower of Moulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani doing EPSU under leadership of our student leader Rashed Khan Menon in Menon group EPSU, I must say our leader Bhasani should be regarded as the first declarer of independence during Pakistan regime by delivering public speech in his various public meeting asking Bongobandhu Sk. Mujibur Rahman "Sk. Mujib you declare one point instead of your six points". As Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman used to respect Moulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bashani who always used to tell him "মুজিব তুমি ছয় দফার বদলে এক দফা দাও"।  Prof. Abdul Mannan being aware of the facts can not deny all these and should not try to make a history of his own.

Dr. Siraj Uddowllah.

Asslamualaikum Sir.

Thank you for enlighten us with the piece of history.

Sir, i think you mistakenly forgot to mention about late Ziaur Rahman's declare of independence (once by himself and once on behalf of Bongobondhu) in your article.

You may write another one to accommodate the missing parts unless you intend to exclude Zia's role during those unforgettable days.

Vala thaikkun.
Helal
