Liberalism is essential condition for humanism - its a generalized statement. To correlate liberalism with humanism you need to understand few things.
Human society is bound by social norms / religious dictum / law of the land and many other civic orders and which differentiate human from animal kingdom.
Humanism cannot be sustained or even contemplated without the religion factor.
If Taslima thinks Islam is bad ( basis her last interview) she should immediately renounce her faith on Islam.
Walking naked, indiscriminate sex, promoting adulterous affairs, instigating conflicts by expressing hatred or malicious judgment on religion without any authority does not fall in to liberalism by any stretch of imagination.
Human rights prevails best mostly at WEST????? - I leave that up to the forum to judge.

Mostly in the west, because they allow criticism of all kinds.
Liberalism is essential condition for humanism. And there can not be
any doubt Taslima is the icon of liberalism for Bangladesh and India
now.
Besides, you didn't read the issue. Some of the writers criticized
her views as well. In Vinnomot, all kinds of opinions are welcome.
Anyhow, your reaction is a typical of those who never read and
promtly jump into conclusion based on biased views orginiated from
growing up in a culture that disapproves liberal ideas and humanist
thinking.
