[chottala.com] Genetics or family tradition ????

Genetics or family tradition

[Guess who claims to be the descendant of much hated Qutubuddin Koko?]

Meherunissa was the wife of Sher Afghan, fauzdar of Bardhaman Emerror Jahangir had cast his eyes on her and sent Qutubuddin Koka to fight against Sher Afghan. Both were killed and lie buried at Pir Baharam in Bardhaman and Meherunissa was taken to the Mughal harem. She later emerged as Nurjahan the powerful empress.

Islam Khan, who succeeded Qutubuddin Koka as subdar shifted the Mughal capital of Sube Bangla from Rajmahal to Dhaka in 1612. It meant that the centre of power was shifted further away from Bardhaman.

Tomb of Sher Afghan
The Tomb of Sher Afgan, the last of the Afghan jagirdars in Bardhaman, is located at Pir Beharam near Rajbati. Sher Afgan married Nurjahan. Mughal Samrat Jahangir had sent Qutubuddin to fight against Sher Afgan. Both were died at war in 1610 AD and both were buried at the burial ground of Pir Baharam.

Magician of rhymes (or chhonder jadukar in Bangla) Satyendranath Dutta (1882-1922)
wrote in one of his poem in early 20th century:

"Tejosshi Sher Ghrinno Qutub Pasha Pashi Ghumai Aaz
Rar'h-er Mati jure Digun Gagche Jahingirer Laz"

 [Rar'h is Bardhaman]

"The Brave Sher Afgan and hated Qutub lie today side by side.
The soil of Bardhaman still proclaims SHAME on Jahangir over and over."

Guess who claims to be the descendant of this much hated Qutub?
[I don't want name names. Readers are requested find out at their own.]

Does things run in the Family? Or there is a Genetic reason that
reflects in individual's behavior ?

Will some erudite social psychologist/historian/geneticist friend help
us to get an answer?
