Living in US, we all too much involved with Bangladeshi politics, rather than American politics. We can help Bangladesh, using our voice through Congress and Senate.
So I urge each and everyone please keep contact with your local congressmen and senators (Democratic or Republican or Independent) before 2008 election.
we can influence our representatives in Washington to help Bangladesh in term of foreign aids, tax free investment to Technology transfer, etc.
This is my opinion only, and hope all of you have far better than mine, please advice.

Subject: [chottala.com] Senior Executives--VVIP matter
We Bangladeshi-Americans are involved with so many organizations and societies but we never pushed one of the most important matters to the highest level of U.S. political circles and government. The matter is the appointment of American Bengali in the Senior Executive level in the U.S. government.
Reports by the Government Accountability Office show that "the numbers of women and minorities are low in the SES," Akaka said. Davis said the reports "documented a poorly diversified SES."
Of the 6,349 career SES members, the most recent GAO tally counted 325 African American men, 221 African American women, 164 Hispanic men and 65 Hispanic women.
That demographic profile of the SES, which was released in May, also showed there were 90 Asian/Pacific Islander men, 56 Asian/Pacific Islander women, 59 American Indian/Alaska native men and 27 American Indian/Alaska Native women.
The overwhelming majority of SES members were white -- 3,900 white men and 1,436 white women.
The GAO tally also included six as "unspecified."
Can we form a federation of all groups in the U.S. and speak in one voice in this and other most important matters? Thank you.
