Dear Community Members in DC, MD and VA:
On behalf of EKTARA Inc., we would like to express our profound gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to each and every member of our community for extending their support and encouragement to make "EKTARA Cup Cricket 2012" a grand success.
The two day long cricket extravaganza was held on 23rd and 24th of June 2012 at the Newington Heights Park in Lorton, VA. A total of 18 teams participated in this tournament. After two days of hard-fought competitive and exciting cricket, the "Duronto Tigers" team emerged as the Champion defeating the "Centurions" by 6 wickets in the final. Batting first, Centurions scored 107 runs in 10 overs losing 3 wickets. In reply, Duronto Tigers reached the target of 108 runs in 9.3 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Congratulations team "Duronto Tigers"!
Our hearfelt thanks and appreciation to the players and officials of the 18 teams- AGB Colony, VA Tigers, NOVA Tigers, Frontech, D.C. Metro Tigers, Dulles Thunders, Washington Bengals, Desh, Centurions, Bengal Warriors, D.C. Daredevils, Gorjon, Duronto Tigers, Dhaka University Alumni Forum, BABA, Bangladesh Embassy, PrioBangla and Sher-E-Bangla.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Chief Guest Mr. Jashim Uddin, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington, D.C. for his time. We also like to thank Mr. Nirupam Dev Nath for his time and effort in making Bangladesh Embassy Cricket team a reality in such a short time.
