Why People didn't resist the fall of Sheikh Muijb

The fall of Sheikh Mujib was a reality, we can't deny. Who said Zia approved the killing or was behind the fall of Mujib ? There is no concrete proof of such allegation.

This is a diversion of reality. Those who spread this untrue fact don't want to accept the reality that the time Mujib was killed was the worst period of his
popularity in Bangladesh. Most possibly his popularity went down from 90 percent to less than 10 percent at the time of his fall. All section of people didn't like the way he was running the government. In fact the creation of one party rule BKSAL was one of the most unpopular step mujib took in his lifetime. I had a chance to attend one of his last public meeting at the than Race course Moidan.during 1975 before his untimely death. The meeting was organised by Bangladesh Chatro League and the attendee was less few thousands. At that time I realized how a most popular leader of Bangladesh became so unpopular that his meeting didn't attract even few thousand Bangladeshis.

His unending support for infamous Red Cross Chief Ghazi Golam Mostafa's son who hijacked the wife of Army Major Dalim's wife from a marriage reception party, caused uproar in the army. He didn't offer justice to the victim and dismissed the Army Major from the job permanently who sought justice from the' father of the nation'. Even the than Army Chief Gen. Shafiullah wasn't happy about the sacking of Major Dalim from the Army. Gen Shafiiullah still alive and can testify about this incident.

One single incident/mistake can change the poliltical carrier of a most poppular personality like Sheikh Mujib.

If Mujib was popular at the time of his fall, the coup attemt by by disgruntled few dozen military officers could well be answered by the peoles resistance, unfortunately, history wasn't kind to him or in his side and people remained silent or accepted the change anyway.

Mujib's role for our liberatioin was unquestionable, but he failed to fulfill peoles expection or became good administrator after taking control of the nation.

That is the plain truth we must realize.
