[chottala.com] Re: Mujib Wanted Confederation ?????????

Mujib, Bangladesh's post liberation bitterpill
Abid Bahar
Mujib was Bangladesh's post liberation bitterpill but to the hero worshippers he is the greatest Bengali of all times. However, when the real Mujib was brought to the daylight he becomes a bitterpill.
It is not easy to swallw Mujib the bitter pill by hero worshippers who forgive Mujib for imposing dictatorship on the infant nation, killing 30,000 by the Rakkhi and over 100,000 by the 1974 famine. All these were done only in three years of his rule which turned Bangladesh into a bottomless Bananaistan failed state, like "Fakistan".

Mujib Wanted Confederation
Daily Star

If Mujib Wanted Confederation, how does this make him the artechetect of Bangladesh?
On the 25th night Mujib was last approached by Tajuddin to sign a handwritten statement about the declaration of independence which Mujib declined. Where does this myth of the declaration by telegram by Mujib come from? It seems that the telegram was circulated by the AL high command and a copy was also sent to Chittagong.
Referring to Mujib's confusing moves, Abul Mansur Ahmad says in his book, "I did not understand Mujib then, I do not understand him now."  He adds, "Sheikh Mujib surrendered without resistance. He did not try to escape nor hide himself." Mansur Ahmad questioned "Is this the way the leader of a people fight against opposition?" (Amer Dekha Rajnitir... p. 551-555).

Dear All

Historical personalities have to be understood in the proper historical context .....
the history of a nation unfolds in it's own unique way ... there is close connection between
the leader and the masses, but at the end masses are the makers of history ....This has been
proved once again through our struggle for independence .....

In 1946 the people of today's Bangladesh voted overhelmingly for Pakistan [which eventually
turned to a Fakistan (as Poet Kazi Nazrul coined the word "Fakistan"  when he first heard about it...)
... it took about 24 years for the people of the then East Pakistan to get rid of their dellusions
about "muslim homeland" Pakistan.

In 1970 the people voted overhelmingly for Awami League under the leadership of
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman .... The historical developments has to looked upon as a process that
menifests itself through historical events .....

Good, bad or ugly, (someone like it or not) Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's  leadership has proven
to be the most decicive & bold voice that in essence raised people's consciousness to fight for
their rights that led them to the fight for Bangladesh and a decicive victory at the end......
There are many many details ...but the 7th March speech (Ebar er Sangram Shadinotor Sangram ...)
& raising Bangladesher Pataka on 23 March 1971 signifies the culmination of Sheikh Mujibor Rahman's
thought process about the future of our mother land.

All attempts to undermine Sheikh Mujibor Rahman as the uncompromising leader of the People's
Struggle for the Liberation of Bangladesh  will be futile ......

Mujib's tactical move such as getting arrested on the night of 25th March 1971 gave our nation's
liberation war against the Pakistani occupation an extra degree of legitamacy in the world's eyes ....
[ After 25th March 1971 Mujib was in Pakistani jail for 9 months ..... he never bowed down or made
any compromise with the Pakistani Junta even under the threat of gallows .....]

Just recall: how "Ekti Mojibor-er kontho hote, lokkko Mojibor-er  Kontho-Dhoni ....."
became a reality ....

PS:  "Mujib Wanted Confederation   ..."  So what ???? There is no historical basis for making such
over-simplified statement .... The historical processes are very complex. In political battle-field situations
and political maneavors leaders has to encounter many strategic vis-a-vis tactical moves ...... The bottom line
and strength of Mujib's leadership was that he never compromised in the question of rights of his people
(the people of Bangladesh) ...... even under the threat of gallows (death by hanging) in Pakistani jail (1971)
......
