The question of trials of the Al-bodori death squad members and the

organizers of killing missions became a issue has due to public demand

before the last election .....it is an election mandate for BAL

 .....and there is no statute of limitations  on the trial of the killers and their

leaders ....

 

The killer Jamaatis acted in their killing missions not for any personal

reason but with  Political objectives ..... even during the last weeks

of the war in 1971 when the Jamaat (vis-a-vis it's Al-Bodor wing)

realized that deafeat was certain, they continued killing the innocent

civilians and Bangalee intelectuals with a long term political

objective.....

 

Call it "digg out murky past ", call it political, call moral or call it

national conscience the trial of the Al-Bodor Death Squad members

and it's organizers is a  must ......

 

By your assertion "dig out the murky past", you are verily admitting

that the Jamaat's 1971-role was crimnal and murky .... you just

don't want their trial you want to keep the "murky past". hidden under

the rugs ....

 

In any case, as we all know :

"The past is never dead. It's not even past."   ....

The killers and the families of the victims are still alive

right here in Bangladesh ......

 

As a silent onlooker of contemporay event, I  can only

say that history has a very weird way of correcting itself ...

and that is what we see now... tomorrow will be a better

day for all of us ....

In 1971 Jamaate Islami was the only political group that had an killer wing Al-bodor and was engagged in killing of innocent civillians and various other crimes against humanity and war crimes in 1971. 

 

Thus, by default, Jamaate Islami became the only political group that was engaged in criminal violence and accessory to the genocides of 1971.

Jamaate Islami is the Party of the Traitors (Gadders)... . and there

is no such thing as a Reformed Traitor .....Once a Gaddar, always

a Gaddar ......

 

2. The current govermnent  was duly elected through a democratic

process and has the legitimate right to set up it's priorities and

course of actions : That is the law of the land.....

 

The current government is a  government of the majority 

and the majority must be granted ..... that is way our system works .... [obviously, the War Criminals will oppose the trial in their attempts to evade Justice by fair means or faul ....... ]

 

3. Putting signature in favor of the constitution or abstaining from

putting the signature on the constitution is a (and was a)  part of the

due process and a constitutional right of the parliament/constitu tional  assembly member.  If Suronjit had denied putting his signature on the original 1972 constitution, how does that make him a criminal and under what law, Mr. Mokhter Ahmed?

 

You really sound silly when you say Suronjit "is great criminal and his  crime against the constitution is ever greater than anyone. He should be tried for that."...

 

Your innuendo  "Why Suronjet Sen was made the co-chair of the

constitution review committee?" is pure Nonsense & Grossly Fallacious and quite unbecoming for an academician

 

Please don't think that we Bangladeshis are fools and you can create

murky waters by throwing these kinds of falacious logic ......

 

BTW, do you personally approve the spirit of 1972 Bangladesh

Constitution?

 

And since when you have become such an over-zealous-fan

any difference of opinion with Sheikh Mujib is a criminal

Do you really believe that? Or that is another facet of Jamaati

4. I am little skeptic about the idea of banning any political party just

based on it's ideology per se. However, all political parties must respect  the constitution and operate within the bounds of the constitution.

The traitors and  collaborators should not get any leeway in the name of democracy. 

 

No one should be allowed to misuse religion and "religion-trading"

i.e use religion to mislead ordinary masses should not be permitted... ..

 

Any political party that has historical record of collaborating with the

Yahia-Tikka regime and was actively engaged in aiding and abetting the occupation regime as party and has organized armed Death Squads like Al-Bodor Bahini should not be allowed to function.

 

In Europe, Nazi Party is completely abolished and declared to

be illegal. This ban has remains in place in Germany and many

other European countries to the present day. 

 

The Jamaate Islami's Anti-Bangladesh role and the

killing missions by it's armed Gestapo wing Al-Bodor Death

Squads makes this particular party nazi-equivalent in the

context of Bangladesh and our history .....

 

The operation of Jamaate Islami should be banned not

because it has a religious lebash, but for Jamaat's  role in war

crimes, crimes against Bangladesh, crimes against humanity

including aiding and abetting genocides and greatest mass

rapes in human history.....

 

 

5. Why only "famous and seasoned politicians earlier" has to be

ministers ..." ?

 

As a matter of fact the ruling parties should always include

new faces in the cabinet which, in essence,  may help to develop

that party's  future leaderships. .... 

 

Of course, the a minister must be competent to do his/her job,

else the party in power will suffer in the long run...

 

In a parliamentary democracy the selection of cabinet members

is a complex balancing act ....[region, gender, expertise,

popularity within the party, loyality etc. ...]

 

Posing a question like "Does not it imply that they were picked up

by a third party for their interests?" is utterly motivated and

perhaps with insidious intents .....

1.      Is war crime a sole responsibility of a particular political party? Are not there any war criminals in Awami League? I know many are there and in other political parties. Why then the sole target is a particular political party?

2.      There is no consensus in Bangladesh about this trial. That particular party does have near about one crore vote bank, according to the estimate of EC. We voted 14 mohajot, which does not mean that we gave it a blank cheque to do anything. Before taking such a large-scale job, the govt. should seek referendum. A few papers and TV channels are not the sole standard to gauge people's feeling and perception in this case.

3.      Why Suronjet Sen was made the co-chair of the constitution review committee? He was the man who denied putting his signature on the original 1972 constitution despite being repeatedly asked by Bangobondhu and Bangobondhu's signature there. He is great criminal and his crime against the constitution is ever greater than anyone. He should be tried for that.

4.      Why should we allow the banning of any political party? Is politics a prerogative of any class? Is it banned in our model (?) countries like India and the West? In India many religion-based political parties are working like Shib Sena, BJP and hundred others. Even Christian Democratic Party (a religion-based party) is in power in Germany.

5.   Who are the ministers ruling Bangladesh now? Were they any famous and seasoned politicians earlier? Are they capable to defend the dignity of our motherland? Why this peculiar pick-up, the boneless people who even do not know the political decorum? Who were behind this choice? Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister? I think, none will believe it that she would dare to deny other seasoned politicians any space in her cabinet. Does not it imply that they were picked up by a third party for their interests?

 

I think many other issues we do have in our front now. We should concentrate on those rather than being exploited by the interests of the political parties.
