BTW, see attached why America is still the #1 player for the near future!
Thank you for describing 'creative destruction' in the link below - the flip side of capitalism! It is a painful process - where only the best survives, and through the painful survival process, societal living standard is elevated. In my view - America is still a land of opportunity, hope, hard work, positive attitude......surely it's govt. policies are geared towards it's self interest like any other, and at times such policies are neither perfect for outsiders nor popular for it's citizens!
EXAMPLE (creative destruction): In the early 1800s British textile mills were the best in the world. In 1815, Francis Lowell built a factory in the state of Massachusetts, USA that employed similar British technology but it was less labor intensive....and by 1840s Lowell became the 2nd largest city in USA and the largest mfg. center in the country. Nearly 1 1/2 centuries later, nowadays great number of citizens of Lowell wear clothes made in Bangladesh!

With all of America's problems, such as
the greed on Wall Street as well as in
our banks and corporations, and with
our failing infrastructure, foreclosures,
job losses, and natural disasters, etc;
after reading this article, I now realize it's
what we can't see, that is by far our
biggest threat.
