Chittagong City Corporation Election 2010 ISDE Bangladesh & CSDF Organized Interactive Dialogue with Voters and Candidates held at Port Area Candidates Promised to Solidarity to Ensure Women Human Rights, Social Security and Good Governance of the local Services delivery institutions On the occasion of up coming Chittagong City election 2010 CSDF and ISDE Bangladesh organized interactive dialogue with Candidates and voters with one platform. This is the second time initiatives taken by CSDF and ISDE Bangladesh on the occasion of City Corporation election 2010. In 2005 it has arranged similar dialogue which is the first time in Bangladesh . Last 10 June, '10 interactive dialogue with Voters and Candidates was held at Meher Afjal High School Premises. Mr. Ali Hossain Badar President Bandar Thana Social Enterpriser Council was presided over the dialogue and S M Nazer Hossain Chairperson CSDF and Executive Director ISDE Bangladesh was descried briefly about the aims and objectives of the dialogue. Mr. Kazi Iqbal Bahar Sabery and Jahirul Islam moderated the dialogue while Mr. Afsar khan President District Social Entrepreneur Council, CSDF Sufia Kamal Fellow Sayma Hoque, Steps Representative Ali Reza Maink and CAB City leader Haji Iqbal Ali Akbar spoken on the occasion. Ward councilor candidates Shahida Khanom, Rokeya Begume, Roksana Kader, Manjur kader, Nurul Alam, Hanif Sowdagor, Rafiqul Islam, Mohammed Hossain, Golam Mohamed Chowdhury were took part the sharing their plans and views regarding the raised issues by ISDE & CSDF if they win the election what they will do to stop Violence against women, Eve teasing & Early marriage, Promote women participation in local political process, Ensure effectiveness of local services delivery institutions (CSDI), easy access in local CSDIs and establish social security and protection for the voters. Later the candidates were participate question and answer session and the local voters Abdul Karim, Rahima Sultana, Abu taleb, Shahadot Hossain, Golam Kader, Principal Md Imran and Nurjahan begume took part the session. All the candidates share their plan and programme and promised if they were elected by the voters on next 17th June CCC election they will take steps with the involvement of local community, government mechanism and support of local social and voluntary organization, NGOs to stop Violence against women, eve teasing, early marriage, promote women participation in local political process, ensure effectiveness of local services delivery institutions (CSDI), easy access in local CSDIs and establish social security and protection for the communities. Some of them asked to know about the progress of the 1st dialogues were held at CCC election 2005 to the existing Councilors. This is highly appreciated by the local voters to make conversation with the all candidates with in one platform and hopes it will create a positive impact to the national politics. This is mentioned that CSDF a local NGO & CSO platform working to promote gender and good governance introduced interactive dialogue with candidates and voters with in one platform 1st time in Bangladesh with the help of Steps towards development Dhaka in 2005.
