[chottala.com] Historic detail of Zia Assassination by ex D.C of CHITTAGONG [1 Attachment]

<*>[Attachment(s) from tariq matin included below]

Mr. Ziauddin M. Choudhury who is currently working at the World Bank in Washington D.C was the District Commissioner (D.C) of Chittagong during the assassination of late president Ziaur Rahman on May 30th, 1981. He saw Ziaur Rahman, General Manzur and other important figures from real close. The University Press Ltd., Dhaka recently published his book "Assassination of Ziaur Rahman and the Aftermath". There have been numerous accounts on the assassination and the aftermath by different people at different times.
The accounts of Mr.Ziauddin M. Choudhury, who personally received president Zia at the Chittagong airport the night before the assassination, are extremely credible. 21st February, 7th March, 26th March, 16th December, 15th August and May 30th (the day Zia was assassinated) are significant dates in the history of Bangladesh. I am confident the aforementioned book by Mr.Ziauddin Choudhury will be a great document in our quest to establish the truth about the past. History will not fail to give credit to the individuals who deserve it. On the hand, history will harshly expel those who through their evil and selfish designs harmed the country in the worst possible way from which Bangladesh has failed to recover until today. Here is a link to a review of the book by Mr. Ziauddin Choudhury, that came out on June 21st in the Daily Star:
