| | (WASHINGTON DC - April 27, 2009) The Islamic Information Center is proud to announce the establishment of a free Immigration Clinic to serve the community's needs.
The IIC Immigration Clinic is available to community members in need of immigration assistance. The clinic will be supported by cooperating attorneys who specialize in immigration and have offered their services on a pro-bono basis. Assisting the attorneys will be IIC staff members, interns, and legal volunteers.
Last month the Obama Administration stated that the issue of comprehensive immigration reform will be addressed in the very near future. The mission of the clinic is to assist members who may have questions about immigration reform, their personal cases and to address broader immigration policy issues.
Imam Syed Naqvi, Chairman of the Islamic Information Center, says "Immigration has been a source of confusion and concern for many people throughout this country. By creating this clinic, IIC will fulfill a long-standing need for the Muslim community by addressing these concerns."
The immigration clinic is free to all members of the Muslim community and all IIC members, and can be accessed by emailing legal@islamicinformationcenter.org. In your email, please at least indicate your name, contact information, a brief summary of the issue, and then God willing, we will proceed from there.
Any attorneys, paralegals, or law students who are interested in participating in this clinic, please email IIC to find out about opportunities at the clinic. | | |
