Ms. Khaleda neither tried nor asked nor demanded - even did not show any interest to make the proper trial of her husband's vindictive killer and cruel killing!
Because,
- Zia did not trust and liked Khaleda. Gen Zia wanted to divorce her after 1971, as she did not joint with him during liberation war, in spite of Zia's repeted call, instruction, message and order. She was staying with some NaPaki Army officer. (That is why there is no physical similarity between their two sons, Pino (Tarek) & Koko).

Please read the item or episode 37 of the legendary & authentic book, "BANGABANDHU SHEIKH MUJIB KE GHIRE KICHU GHOTHONA & BANGLADESH" written by Dr. M A Wazed Mian, husband of Sheikh Hasina. Up to 2000 (I have this copy) four number of edition of this book has already published, which is very rare for any book on political matter.
Whole subject matters of that book was 1st published , continuously, in hundreds of episode, on alternate day, in the daily Ajker Kagoj during 1992, one of the best and well circulated news paper of that period and then that book was also published in 1993. On both the occasions, Khaleda Zia was ruling Prime Minister of Bangladesh. As content of that book was correct, so either as person Khaleda Zia or as an existing Prime Minister of Bangladesh and her Press office/wing (which is led by a full fledged Secretary) was not able to make any kind of official protest, deny or case about that fact.
Same episode was informed in the Bangladesh Parliament, by Major (Retd) Hafijuddin, now SONGSKAR BADEE, the then "independent MP" (1991-1996), formerly Jatio Party (Ershad) leader MP - Minister (up to 1991) and very recently Ex cabinet minister of Khaleda Zia cabinet (2001-2006). - There was some immoral 'secret & hidden' understanding between Khaleda & Ho Mo Ershad (killer of her husband, Zia). After the assassination of Gen Zia, Ho Mo Ershad gave millions of taka to Khaleda and two millions taka property (one at Dhaka Cantonment & another at Banani), announcing (a complete lie) that Khaleda has no proerty at Dhaka. But in reality she had two land at least 10 Kathas each, one at Savar another at Uttarkhan. It was publicised that Zia had no money (CHERA GENZI, VANGA SUITCASE etc etc), but in reality - other than two land at Dhaka, as mentioned earlier, Zia kept taka 50,000 as "fixed deposit"' since 1970 (which was more or less equivalent to net salary of about 100 months of a NaPaki Army Major) in a bank

A group of lawyers (Ahmed Azam Khan & others) representing Khaleda submitted the 11-page statement to ACC Secretary Mukhlesur Rahman at the ACC office at on 6th August 2007.
According to the statements, Khaleda has a bank balance of about Tk 1.90 crore in eight accounts and 13 FDRs of about Tk 1.65 crore. The total amount she owns stands at Tk 3,54,58,084.
Khaleda's immovable property includes one house on 2.72 acres of land in the Dhak cantonment, another on about 1.5 bighas at Gulshan, about 10 kathas of land in Savar and 8 decimals of land in Uttarkhan, near Dhaka Airport
Ahmed Azam Khan told reporters that late president Ziaur Rahman had bought the lands in Savar and Uttarkhan in the early 1970s.
Khaleda's assets is only 3.5 crore – value of 4 lots & houses (Cantonment, Banani, Uttor Khan and Savar) are only about 12,507 BDT and Tk 50, 000 as FDR by Zia, published on many daily newspapers of 7.08.07
