His GUNADHAR sons (Dablu & Paban leaders of gang group) were arrested in all era (AL, BNP & Caretaker) for arms, corruption and CHADABAZI cases and Paban is still in jail ( a lot of news were published in national dalies)

BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain yesterday said a vested quarter that "created a BNP in its factory" is now persuading leaders like Mannan Bhuiyan to make remarks against the party's decision to boycott the August 4 polls.

"Who is Mannan Bhuiyan to say that BNP is in the wrong to decide not to take part in the August 4 elections? Khaleda Zia had ousted him from the party," Delwar said at a views-exchange meeting at the Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium in the capital.

Bhuiyan on Friday told journalists that the party's decision to boycott the local body election was wrong.

Delwar also brought allegations against the caretaker government that it wants to hold the general election under the state of emergency to ensure the victory of the "politicians of entente". If the emergency is lifted, BNP will emerge victorious in the polls, he said.

Dhaka city unit of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, a body of pro-BNP lawyers, organised the meeting with its president Fazlur Rahman in the chair.

The BNP secretary general said the government has been running the country illegally through promulgation of ordinances one after another beyond its constitutional jurisdiction.

"The present government came to power illegally and now it is trying to stay in power for long."

Referring to the demands of district level leaders of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum for announcing agitation programmes to get party chairperson Khaleda Zia released, he said they will announce programmes phase by phase to force the government to free her.

Demanding immediate release of Khaleda and her son Tarique Rahman, Delwar said people know the reasons of their arrest. He also urged the party men to remain united to free them.

Accusing the government and the election commission (EC) of doing things beyond its constitutional jurisdiction, he said both the government and the EC have been very enthusiastic about holding the local body polls rather than the national elections.

"The government has lost its neutrality and come up as an opponent of BNP. If Khaleda Zia is released, those who brought this government to power will face debacle in the national polls," he said.

He said now there is no alternative but to go for a movement to save the people who are in grave danger.

"BNP is an election-oriented party and Khaleda Zia is the most popular leader in the country," Delwar said.

He asked the government to hold a free, fair and credible election without any further delay to avoid instability in the country.
