[chottala.com] Taking hausband's name after marriage is not as per shariyah

Dear Mr. Mohiuddin,
The arab custom is to be identified
by the father and hence they write fathers name with
their name. The western custom is to be identified
with with the tribe they belong. A woman by marriage
leaves her tribe and joins the husbands tribe and
hence she has to identify herself with her husbands
tribe. that is the reason women after marriage takes
husband's surname, which is the name of the tribe.
Taking husbands surname is not mandatory but in that
case she will be called Miss. By taking husbands
surname women are not accepting the superiority of the
husband but merely identifying herself with her
husbands tribe. I do not know how much of logic is
there in your statement. What you stated in your post
did not appear to be very convincing to me.
