[chottala.com] Attn: Mr. Alim Sharif - Re: How General Moeen U Ahmed earns over 66 lakh taka in one year?

WRT:

Dear All
No one should be above the laws, no matter what kind of
camouflage he/she is wearing. The question regarding the source
of earning 66 lakh Taka in one year by an armed force personal is
not baseless. It is very clear from the prospectus that General
Moeen U Ahmed made the transaction within in one year.
[see
page number 20]

General Moeen U.  pretends to be a "Transperency Guru" and
a firm believer of "the rights of the public for freedom of
information".  He may be given some benefits of doubt.

But, since the question has been raised he should come forward
and disclose his finances and the details of accumulation of wealth
over the years. He may have gotten the money from his rich
father-in-law as gift..... he may have gotten it from foreign
sources .... According to Bangladesh Board of revenue regulations all
foreign earnings needs to be reported in the yearly Tax returns. So
all claims about the legitamacy of his wealth can be proved from
his returns. Some apologists and cronies like Mr. Alim Sharif
are trying to make points purely on heresy and imaginary
hypothesis. Mr. Alim sharif mentions:

"#1. As a General he also gets compensated from United
Nations  when his country (Bangladesh) sends army to the UN
peacekeeping troops. Please try to find out how much it is (you will be
surprised)."

Why doesn't Mr. Alim Sharif  surprize us with the correct information about the actual figure with some referencable documents? Also
his mention of  "any  General (or a Commander-in-Chief )gets
compensated from United Nations when his country (Bangladesh)
sends army to the UN peacekeeping troops"  is untrue.  If this was
true, it would be purely a bribe. UN pays only for active duty in the
field [General Moeen U. served in UNAMIR, Rwanda under United
Nations for a very short time long before he became the armed forces
chief. He also served as a defence advisor in Bangladesh High
commission in Pakistan.]

The corruption in Bangladesh is deep rooted, much deeper than we normally
think. We are only putting the blame of corruption on the politicians.
However, there are corruption in every sector of the the country and the
armed forces is no exception.....

By the way, who would have known about General Muhammad Ershad's
rampant corruption, another Bangladesh Army alumni in early eightees
when he became the President and vouched his Jihad against corruption.

Guys,

Thank you for your comments.

I personally do not think that someone (we) needs to defend General
Moeen U Ahmed for this personal fortune.

Over the years in his career he made enough money (salary,
compensation, award, paid positions, etc)

Question about where General Moeen U Ahmed got 66 lakh is absolutely
stupid. He is a carrier army office who has affiliation with lots of
foreign institutions like UN apart from his own salary and
compensation as chief.

Hello,

Why do you think that 99 lakh is a huge amount of money for someone
like General Moeen U Ahmed?

Let me give you some examples of where General Moeen U Ahmed can earn
this amount of money.

#1. As a General he also gets compensated from United Nations when
his country (Bangladesh) sends army to the UN peacekeeping troops.
Please try to find out how much it is (you will be surprised).

#2. During training and other posting to any other foreign countries
army officers also get compensated in USA dollars apart from their
salaries. All these years General Moeen U Ahmed must have attended
multiple trainings, joint army session, etc.

I worked for UN for little over a year and I have few friends who are
still in the UN. Moreover, I have been working in USA for about 10
years now as an enterprise architect.

I should say you guys actually do not have any idea about what kind
of money CEOs an other high officials are making theses days ..

I do not want any comments ..........please. Thank you.

Re: [chottala.com] How General Moeen U Ahmed earns over 66 lakh taka in one year?

Dear All

Yes - I fully agree with Shamim Hasnain for his
valuable comments. Please do not speculate anything
which you do not know or involved personally. You must
get proof in your hand on the corruption done by Gen.
Moeen. He is not a corrupt person rather saved our
country from the corrupt politicians about say top 200
corrupt people. Out of 200 or 100 or 2000 does not
count any percentage of 150 m people of our country.
It is Gen Moeen who must be remembered for his very
sincere work to save our country. Please be positive
and contribute positively to help irridicate
corruption as much as possible by the present honest
and neutral government. I personally do not believe
the corrupted people of the past who will again try to
do what they did for the past 36 years.

Constructive suggestions will help the present
government to do better job which is desiarable by
most of us ( but not by Mr. Mohatir of bd.) whom I
found to be biased and politically motivated or
negatively charged man or related to a party or does
not like present government. But most of us (majority)
would like to see better works done by the present
government which nobody could do ( I understand ).

Thank you very much (Shamim Hasnain) for your valuable
comments.
