Re: [chottala.com] protest against...How about Abu Huraira ?

Dear Syed Aslam:

Salaam. Your point is well taken. Some people might react angrily with the cartoon and some people think it's an innocent cartoon. People usually reacted differently under the different circumstances.
After went through the cartoon, i personally didn't get offended and i feel for the poor cartoonist....I'm sure he didn't have any clue what might gonna happen while he drew it. The other reason i didn't get offended is that i know the story behind the joke.

But some brother like Raiyaan Bashir might not know the original joke and got severely offended with the whole thing. And sometime i can't blame people for getting offended especially when the whole world is trying to undermine Islam and Muslims.

Anyhow, to make the long story short, i will ask myself and all of us in this forum to refrain ourselves from provoking others.

Ramadan Mubarak.

Salam!

You may already be a reader of Sangram.

If not,  you  have a better (?) alternative. You can now be an excluvely
devoted reader of Sangram for the rest of your life. Here is the link:

BTW, the cartoon looked like a most benign and innocuous  cartoon,
and only a zealot religion-trader Taleban would find anything insulting
to Islam or the prophet in it.

I really wonder what Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would
have done, if had seen such a cartoon? He used to love
cats (not the dogs). One of his sahaba was given a nick name
Abu Huraira (RadiAllahu Anhu - RA). Abu Huraira meant
"Father of the cats". No one had ever objected during Prophet's
life-time or through out Islamic history.

Abu Hurairah (ÃÈæ åÑíÑÉ), (real name `Abd al-Rahman ibn
Sakhr Al-Azdi (ÚÈÏÇáÑÍãä Èä ÕÎÑ ÇáÃÐÏí), Abu Hurayrah
(603-681 AD) was a campanion (Sahabah) and the narrator of
Hadith most quoted in the isnad. Abu Huraira, RA, the father of the cats,
is viewed  as one of the major narrators of Hadith. Sunnis also believe
that he was blessed with a unfailing memory,  a miracle from
Allah the Almighty, bestowed upon him after Prophet  Muhammad (PBUH)
prayed for him.  He is depicted as a man living an ascetic and  humble life, c
herishing  knowledge and worship.

Best Reagrds,

Syed Aslam
