[chottala.com] Elections unlikely in 2008

I am getting increasingly dis enchanted by the western
style partilamentary form of democracy particularly
in poorer and less developed countries. The system do
not support stability and without stability it is just
not possible to develop. The type of democracy that
is going to be followed will be good for the
politicians but not for the people. If the interim
ogvernment has has already taken more than an year to
prepare voters list then within the remaining period
they must present the nation with a system same as USA
or similar to Sri Lanka that supports stability of the
country. If that can not be achieved then mere holding
of election will not benefit the nation.
