Gen. Masud is getting extension because he is a close relative of your netree Khaleda Zia !

He is Brother-in-Law of Syed Iskander . He got lucrative posts including GOC of powerful 9 division

through BNP govt. He is a man of principle , he did not like the wide spread corruption of Tarek Zia .

We need more PATRIOTIC OFFICERS like Gen. Masud in our army. I salute him for his courageous

role during 1/11.

Gen Massoud is a Rokkhi Recrit ?

Gen Massoud's apponitment as Hasina;s Ambassador to Australia and continuation of such appointment after the term

expired proved clearly that Hasina is paying the debt to Gen Massoud. I didnot know that he was a recruit of now defunct

notorious JRB(Jatiyo Rokkhi Bahini), If he was a recruit of Rokkhi Bahini, there is every possibility that he might have a link

with RAW. We know now that,  RAW is honeymooning in Bangladesh for the past three years of Hasina rule. Defintely

RAW infiltrared our military force as RAW already crippled our BDR. We have to be very careful about RAW conspiracy

to protect Bangladesh's national interest. DGFI should track RAW agent in our Armed Forces, otherwise heavy price is imminant.

Khandker Mushtaque government did a grave fatal mistake by abs all Roorving all Rokkkhi soldieres to our national army.

 Nation paying heavy price fmior thi mistake. All Rokkhi recruits should be discharged from our armed force.

If opposition BNP take control of the nation by the people of Bangladesh, Gen Masoud and all other conspirators of 1/11 will

face court martial for their illegal role of capturing power, make no doubt about it Inshallah.

You are very right all Generals are not like Gen Zia :) and do not understand why you have to drag his name or Mr Azam's son's here. 

 

Gen Masud was part of the cartel that instigated the formation of post 9/11 CTG. doesn't matter who was responsible BNP or BAL but it is a fact they were controversial, illegal and should have been punished not rewarded.

 

 

FYI Gen Masud is not from the Military Academy he is from dreaded Rakshi Bahini and maybe that's why he is the privileged one.

Many thanks for your mails and reply to Dear Mannan/Muntasir sirs.

Abdul Mannan /Muntasir sirs are human beings. They need bread and butter to survive. The teachers at universities earn an insufficient amount which is not enough to pay the house rents these days let alone the meals and other expenses of the house hold necessities and the huge cost of the bringing up their children. As a poor nation we are deeply sorry that we failed to provide enough remuneration to our university teachers to lead an honourable life.

The points you raised here are understandable by any conscious citizen of today's Bangladesh. Our respectable teachers also have these in their hearts. But they are helpless. They have to work among the 'divided nation' to earn their livelihood. They need to take a 'side' which pays enough to maintain their social status and family needs. Writing in Janakantha which is like a bulletin of Indian interest and established with huge Indian fund and stated printing from four different locations from the beginning helps them survive. This is the reality.  

In 'return' our honourable intellectuals keep 'their chosen side' happy by hiding some historical truths and ignoring some current and on-going corruptions, rape, tortures, undemocratic behaviour, violence of the 'governor/contractor'. And they also bring more blessings towards them by supporting master's/Indian hegemony towards Bangladesh. 

 

Aboul Mannan/Muntasir Sirs will never be able to answer your questions honestly and directly. They are highly paid by their employers to bury these historical truths to take the answers to their chosen side.   

These 'Sirs' never protest border killings by BSF, unequal and harmful Transits, Farakka and Tipaimukh Dams, pushing in Drugs(phensedyl etc. and arms) and so on. They think Tipaimukh Dam will control flood like Farakka is 'controlling flood' today in the northern part of Bangladesh.

They are teachers and in the last 3 years Chatra League insulted/tortured 80 teachers in our universities and colleges but they never protested. They think they are safe as they are in government side.

They are fathers of daughters but how can they keep silent when Chatra League cadres are raping and filming the rape of young girls like their daughters. They think they cannot recognise these act as 'their pro-liberation government' will be in trouble.

How can these teachers tolerate violence of Chatra League which result the closure of the educational institutes? They enjoy the vacations and work outside to increase earnings.

They are keeping silent Chatra League's killings, extortion/Chadabaji, admission trade, trader grabbing, and what not. 

These teachers are told to see one side and strengthen the division at their master's cost.

In our eyes, we don't see much difference between Mr. Golam Azam and some of you. Mr. Azam sold his soul to Pakistan and You, Muntasir sir and few others sold your soul to India. That's why Mr. Azam didn't see anything wrong in Pakistan's actions towards Bangladesh and you guys are doing to same when it comes to India. I'm sorry to say that, you all are rajakar's but in different times.

Sir, our generation wants a fair and free war crime trial so that we can start re-building Bangladesh from truth nothing but truth. As i said earlier, war crime trail must go on with proper process so that at the end, Bangladesh can move forward beyond our war criminal and non-war criminal saga.

Sir, our generation also will refuse to accept a divided Bangladesh with so called pro-liberation and anti-liberation forces. Though, 1971's anti-liberation forces are behaving more pro-liberation in 2012 and vice versa.

We want a free and fair trial because our nation was built on confusion and lies. It started on the very day of 16^th December 1971. We still do not understand

why Pakistani army had to surrender to Indian Army in OUR independence war. 

Why our military leadership wasn't able to attend the surrender ceremony?

Why we established a complete distorted martyred figure of our war? 

Who is the real declarer of independence? 

Was it Moulana Bhasani, Bongobondhu and Shahid Zia! 

I can go on and on.

People like you and Golam Azam are the root cause of today's disarray of Bangladesh. As you people never allowed us to be ONE nation. You guys always divided us and took advantage of our ignorance.

But thank GOD you guys are not able to fool all the new generation of independent minds who can think and see what is going on in today's Bangladesh. We figured out who is the REAL beneficiary of a DIVIDED nation. When the whole world including India and Pakistan going fwd with science and technology we are going back ward on science and technology and is becoming a big garments factory.

It seems that some people are shell shocked, disappointed and frustrated because of the arrest of Ghulam Azam. Why should someone who is 89 face such a humiliation they ask? Some questions the validity of ICT. Some wants his fair trial. Jamat has budgeted $25 million dollars initially, (this is documented)  to discredit this trial and wage a propaganda war within the country and internationally. There will be many beneficiaries of this big budget. Just for those interested below are two links of writings of former bureaucrat Mr. Waliur Rahman and Dr. Muntasir Mamoon, appearing in today's Daily Janakantha. Those interested may read it. I do not want any feedback nor any comments on it.

It started on the very day of 16th December 1971. We still do not understand why Pakistani army had to surrender to Indian Army in OUR independence war. Why our military leadership wasn’t able to attend the surrender ceremony? Why we established a complete distorted martyred figure of our war? Who is the real declarer of independence? Was it Moulana Bhasani, Bongobondhu and Shahid Zia! I can go on and on. People like you and Golam Azam are the root cause of today’s disarray of Bangladesh. As you people never allowed us to be ONE nation. You guys always divided us and took advantage of our ignorance. But thank GOD you guys are not able to fool all the new generation of independent minds who can think and see what is going on in today’s Bangladesh. We figured out who is the REAL beneficiary of a DIVIDED nation. When the whole world including India and Pakistan going fwd with science and technology we are going back ward on science and technology and is becoming a big garments factory. Why should someone who is 89 face such a humiliation they ask? Some questions the validity of ICT. Some wants his fair trial. Jamat has budgeted $25 million dollars initially, (this is documented)  to discredit this trial and wage a propaganda war within the country and internationally. There will be many beneficiaries of this big budget. In our eyes, we don’t see much difference between Mr. Golam Azam and some of you.  Mr. Azam sold his soul to Pakistan and You, Muntasir sir and few others sold your soul to India. That’s why Mr. Azam didn’t see anything wrong in Pakistan’s actions towards Bangladesh and you guys are doing to same when it comes to India. I’m sorry to say that, you all are rajakar’s but in different times. Sir, our generation wants a fair and free war crime trial so that we can start re-building Bangladesh from truth nothing but truth. As i said earlier, war crime trail must go on with proper process so that at the end, Bangladesh can move forward beyond our war criminal and non-war criminal saga. Sir, our generation also will refuse to accept a divided Bangladesh with so called pro-liberation and anti-liberation forces. Though, 1971’s anti-liberation forces are behaving more pro-liberation in 2012 and vice versa. We want a free and fair trial because our nation was built on confusion and lies. It started on the very day of 16th December 1971. We still do not understand why Pakistani army had to surrender to Indian Army in OUR independence war. Why our military leadership wasn’t able to attend the surrender ceremony? Why we established a complete distorted martyred figure of our war? Who is the real declarer of independence? Was it Moulana Bhasani, Bongobondhu and Shahid Zia! I can go on and on. People like you and Golam Azam are the root cause of today’s disarray of Bangladesh. As you people never allowed us to be ONE nation. You guys always divided us and took advantage of our ignorance. But thank GOD you guys are not able to fool all the new generation of independent minds who can think and see what is going on in today’s Bangladesh. We figured out who is the REAL beneficiary of a DIVIDED nation. When the whole world including India and Pakistan going fwd with science and technology we are going back ward on science and technology and is becoming a big garments factory. Why should someone who is 89 face such a humiliation they ask? Some questions the validity of ICT. Some wants his fair trial. Jamat has budgeted $25 million dollars initially, (this is documented)  to discredit this trial and wage a propaganda war within the country and internationally. There will be many beneficiaries of this big budget. Underlying meaning of war crimes trial

The arrest of Ghulam Azam marks a significant step forward in the trial of those accused of crimes against humanity. It is our hope and expectation that the trial will meet the highest standards of law and fairness. For this, as a Bangladeshi, as a Bangalee, and as someone who had the honour of being one among millions to have joined the Liberation War in 1971, I am, and I am sure millions like me, are most deeply grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and proud of what she has done.

Those of us, who had the singular privilege of being involved in the independence war, are witness to the fact that with the assassination of Bangabandhu in 1975 a deliberate deconstruction of the history of our independence war was set afoot.

To justify Sheikh Mujib's assassination, what he stood for and what he achieved -- the biggest of which was founding the state of Bangladesh -- had to be destroyed, or at the minimum, distorted. As dismantling the new born state was neither possible nor would it be acceptable to the people, so a state sponsored campaign was launched to distort the history of the greatest moment of the nation's existence, and the most treasured moment of the lives of those who participated in it -- namely our Liberation War.

Perhaps the most painful distortion was to deprive ourselves and our children from knowing about the great mass struggle that led to our birth, and about which country and whose army carried out the most heinous genocide of our people. So the name of Pakistan simply disappeared from the narratives of Liberation War. The soldiers who killed our people were termed "hanadar bahini" (attacking army) without any identification of who they were and where they came from. As if they dropped from the sky without any cultural, national, or political identity. Not only the identity but also the full description of what the so-called "hanadar bahini" did was removed from the accounts of the 1971 war. This we sight as a concrete example of how deep the attempt was to prevent our knowing of the truth.

Similarly those who opposed Bangladesh's liberation war were depicted as actually opposing Indian aggression, and not the legitimate aspiration of the Bangla speaking people of the then Pakistan. According to this version of "history" Jamaat-e-Islami was not a party holding the hands of killers who butchered the people of future Bangladesh, but protectors of the sovereignty of Pakistan. In this narrative the brutal suppression of the Bangla speaking people of the then East Pakistan, the genocide, the rapes, the destruction of homes and properties, stories of hundreds of bodies with hands tied at the back floating in rivers were totally removed, and replaced by stories of how the Indian army waged a war against Pakistan and took over its eastern wing.

It was even propagated that the killing of intellectuals on December 14, 1971 -- just two days before Bangladesh was to be born -- was carried out by Indian spies to intellectually dominate the new country.

However, the distortion of Bangalee culture started much earlier, from the very birth of Pakistan, when attempt was made to impose Urdu as the only national language. It was propagated that Bangalee culture and music, Bangalee dress, Bangalee traditions, in fact everything that had to do with our Bangalee identity, were all Hindu in origin. All of those needed to be shunned if we wanted to lead a pious Islamic life.

I remember hearing from my father how every attempt to demand our cultural, linguistic, economic and social rights were depicted as attempt by Indian agents to weaken Pakistan. As young students we remember hearing them also. As freedom fighters we used to hear the same thing over Pakistan Radio and in the speeches of the leaders of Jamaat and the so-called Peace Committees during the nine months that the war lasted.

In our wildest of nightmares we never thought we would hear it in post liberation Bangladesh. However, with greatest of pain we had to listen to such narratives in independent Bangladesh following the killing of Bangabandhu. From 1975 till 1996 this narrative, this falsehood, this distortion, this outrage continued.

We are justly proud of the defeat of autocracy and restoration of democracy in 1991. But even the democratically elected government of Khaleda Zia did not restore the proper narrative of our Liberation War. To the best of my knowledge even during 1991-1996, when BNP was in power, mentioning Pakistan and its army as the perpetrators of genocide was not permitted and the "hanadar bahini" narrative continued.

One does not have to hate Pakistan (in fact this writer only hates the Pakistan of 1971 and not the Pakistan of today) to mention that it was its army of 1971 that carried out the most heinous crime against our people. Do the French, the Poles, the Czechs, the English, other Europeans, or the Americans not mention the Nazis being Germans, and write history and make films of what atrocities they committed? This they did and do, in spite of their closest of relationships with Germany in the post Second World War era. So why did the regime of Gen Ziaur Rahman, HM Ershad, and Khaleda Zia shy away from acknowledging what was a fact of history, and matter of tragedy on one hand and pride on the other? Why did they continue to subscribe to the distortion of the greatest moment of our history? What sort of inferiority complex, and slave mentality made them disown the proudest moment of our history? We will wait for experts to give us the answer.

But meanwhile we know that it was only after the election of Awami League government, and Sheikh Hasina becoming the prime minister that Liberation War and the narratives of 1971 found their proper place. There are distortions in the AL narratives also -- like Tajuddin, Syed Nazrul Islam, Mansur Ali, and many other war heroes not being given their due honour. But that is a different debate and we will argue it separately.

Today, as a national of an independent Bangladesh and as a freedom fighter I am proud that we are able to put on trial those people who opposed our freedom, and our right to be ourselves. And in trying to deprive us of that right they did not hesitate to kill our people including women and children, and burn our homes and properties. What they were fundamentally trying to do was to destroy our very essence of being. Even after our birth as a nation, these people carried out international campaigns to prevent our recognition, so that we could not receive the support and assistance for our growth and prosperity. In fact they never gave up trying to destroy us.

As we know from our recent past, under no other leadership would we have the trial of war criminals and of those who committed crimes against humanity. For this we thank you, Sheikh Hasina.
