I am informing you with great pleasure that I have been informed by the Vice President (Engr. Mesbahur Rahman Tutul) of the IEB HQ that in last IEB Central Council meeting (held on 10th September, 2011) IEB Overseas Chapter in Sultanate of Oman is approved officially.
Congratulations to all - who have been working hard for this - since long time with utmost sincerity.
I am also conveying our heartiest thanks and gratitude to the President of the IEB Engr. Nurul Huda Vai, Honorary General Secretary, Engr Sabur, all office bearers of IEB HQ, all Central Council Members of the IEB and all other concern - for giving official approval to the IEB overseas chapter in Sultanate of Oman.
Best of luck and looking forward for a good start of IEB Oman Chapter.

Sub: Formation of overseas chapter of IEB in Oman
Dear Engr. Md. Abdus Sabur
Further to our meeting and discussion with you regarding the above subject we are informing you again that some graduate engineers of Bangladesh are working and residing in the Sultanate of Oman. We have a long desire to form an overseas chapter of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the Sultanate of Oman to promote and advance the science, practice and business of engineering profession, to endorse the professional interest and professional development among the members of the IEB. We also expect that through this chapter we can promote welfare activities and benefits of its members and develop professional relationship with similar professional organisations of Oman.
So, we have formed a "Preliminary Committee" consist of one elected Convener and three Council Members after several meetings of the engineers of Bangladesh residing in Oman. This "Preliminary Committee" is also supported by 10 corporate members. PDF copy of the signed "Preliminary Committee" is attached with this letter. We are also informing you that boundary of IEB Oman chapter will be the same state boundary of the Sultanate of Oman. Bangladesh also has a long and cordial diplomatic relationship with Oman. We hope that all these meet the necessary requirement of the bylaw 22.01 of the IEB constitution regarding formation of an overseas chapter.
In these circumstances, we are requesting for necessary approval and placing this to the IEB Council through you. We hope and expect that you will place this in your next council meeting and would give necessary approval to this IEB Oman chapter.
