I am writing you all to get any amount of financial help for my very close friend in Bangladesh. You may think why I am asking you! The main reason; I would like to help him as much as I can. His current health and financial condition is really poor. Let me explain his situation or medical condition in below: My friend name is Sunit Modal. He used to study with me in M.M University, Jessore, Bangladesh. In 1992-1996, he studied in Geography and I was in Economics. We used to live in a same Hostel, Campus. He finished Masters around 1998 (I believe). He was hard working student but financially weak. He used to survive by tutoring. I left Bangladesh around 1996. Our communication level was ok for first few years. After years we were discontinue as human nature. One day, I suddenly received a phone call. I picked up the phone and I heard his tone/voice which was very heavy. He said, "My friend please save my life." He was diagnosed Kidney disease and need to replace the kidney immediately". Somehow I got disconnected. I didn't have number to call him back or trace him. After few months he called me and said, "I was in hospital (India), I was unable to contact with you". I lost and sold whatever I had. I loaned money to replace my Kidney. "I am unable to work due to my health condition." Oh! I forgot to mention that he got a job in local college as a Lecturer. The money he had to donate to get this job that was too much. Top of that he became disabled. The cost of the medicine is extremely high. I told him to send those prescriptions. I checked some of the medicine price for 30 days supplies about 500-1000 dollars range in here (USA). I was trying to manage any charitable company of institution can provide free or cheap costing medication but I could not do that. He needs at least 10,000 Taka medicines each month. The money he makes (after he returning to his job) is less than his expenditure plus he has wife and a lovely daughter. I am attaching his letter he wrote to me. If you can contribute any amount please do so. I will also send as much as I can. Please take my request as a serious matter, think you are helping a really needy person/family.
