[chottala.com] A Heartfelt Note of Thanks from BABA

Dear Respected Community Members:

On behalf of Bangladesh America Band Alliance (BABA), we want to thank from the bottom of our hearts to all the members of our great community for making the EID MELA-2010 held on 9/11/2010 a huge success.  Your support for this particular Eid Mela was overwhelming and heart warming. With your help, BABA was able to put together a tasteful and respectful Eid Mela with showing full sensivities and due respects to the victims of  9/11. We congratulate entire Bangladeshi Amercian community in the DC metro area for handling this delicate matter so tastefully. Thank you!

We also would like to take this opportunity to offer our big thanks to our grand sponsor Mr. Abu Hanip (President, PeopleNTech) and our gold sponsors Mr. Bikash Shah, LEDO Pizza, Royal Exchange and Channel-I  and all the vendors for their participation and cooperation.

We thank Shibbir Ahmed (khabor.com) for all his personal support in promoting our event including giving us the prime spot in khabor.com news site for long time. We thank Shafi Delwar Kajol (News-Bangla) who wrote many nice and big articles on BABA and on Eid Mela-2010 and for giving us a prime ad spot as well. We also thank RadioBanglaDC and Kohokon bhai of Channel-I.

We thank Mr. Sheik Mawla Milon and Ektara Production for their support in many areas in addition to making our TV advertisement :-) We also want to thank Masrur, Jewell, Zakir bhai, Imrul, Tanvir, Sababa, Trisha, Rubayet and other countless volunteers.

Last but not least, we thank from the bottom of our hearts to all the band members, other performers, the clown, the face painter, the balloon guy, mehendi person, Alladin food and many others for making this "Eid Mela-2010"  a truly happy (kids loved it, too) event. Without you, this would not have been possible and BABA will forever be grateful to you!

Special Note: Some members of our community were genuinely worried about doing Eid Mela-2010 on 9/11 and expressed their concerns to us. We truly appreciated and understood their valid concerns. We have successfully demonstrated how to observe Eid festvities by being responsible and respectfull to the victims of 9/11 and still being part of mainstream America . We are very pleased that we did not have to postpone the Eid festivities due to the date. This is why America is so great. May God bless us all and may God bless USA. Thank you all so much again.

Best regards,

Miro Jangi, BABA
