Interactive Dialogue with Voters and Candidates held at North Agrabad

Candidates Promised to Solidarity to Ensure Women Human Rights, Social Security and Good Governance of the local Services delivery institutions

 

On the occasion of up coming Chittagong City election 2010 CSDF and ISDE Bangladesh organized interactive dialogue with all the Candidates with one platform. This is the second time initiatives taken by CSDF and ISDE Bangladesh on the occasion of City Corporation election 2010. In 2005 it has arranged similar dialogue which is the first time in Bangladesh. Last 8 June, '10 interactive dialogue with Voters and Candidates was held at North Agrabad Mansurabd Khan Saheb High School Playground. Mr. Salim Meah President 24 North Agrabad Social Enterpriser Council was presided over the dialogue and S M Nazer Hossain Chairperson CSDF and Executive Director ISDE Bangladesh was descried briefly about the aims and objectives of the dialogue. Mr. Kazi Iqbal Bahar Sabery moderated the dialogue while local GCA member Ms Ainunnahar welcomes the participants. Ward councilor candidates Alhaj Sirajul Islam, Advocate Rehena Begume Ranu, Nazmul Hoque Deuk, Enamul Hoque were took part the sharing the plans and views regarding the issues raised by ISDE & CSDF if they win the election what they will do to stop Violence against women, Eve teasing, Early marriage, Promote women participation in local political process, Ensure effectiveness of local services delivery institutions (CSDI), easy access in local CSDIs and establish social security and protection for the voters. Later the candidates were participate question and answer session and the local voters Abdul halim, Rahima akhter, Abu Hanif, Rahima Akhter, Sultan Ahmed, Kamal Uddin, Golam sattar, Md Imran, Nurjahan and Siraj Meah. All the candidates share their plan and programme and promised if they were elected by the voters on next 17th June CCC election they will take steps with the involvement of local community, government mechanism and support of local social and voluntary organization, NGOs to stop Violence against women, eve teasing, early marriage, promote women participation in local political process, ensure effectiveness of local services delivery institutions (CSDI), easy access in local CSDIs and establish social security and protection for the communities. Some of them asked to know about the progress of the 1st dialogues were held at CCC election 2005 to the existing Councilors. This is highly appreciated by the local voters to make conversion with the all candidates with in one platform and hopes it will create a positive impact to the national politics.
