Re: [chottala.com] How Stupid Is Sarah Palin?

..however, I am open to learning new things and getting new perspectives. perhaps you can enlighten us all by commenting on some of the questions that I have posed. Not to get too philosophical but the bottom line is we should question how/why something is broken rather than saying it is broken; because when something is broken it is obvious to everyone but everyone may not question as why/how it got broken. In the case of Palin we should question why and how she got to the stage that she has been invited to be in [and make a fool of her self] rather than saying she is a "Stupid with a capital "S"!!!!" If the Republicans agreed to put her there then they are all stupid, if they are all stupid that means the majority of the American people are Stupid-- stupid times two [for the two terms they elected Republicans]. I guess i am missing a major point here ?

I see you are "totally agreeing with" everything I am saying.
If you are totally agreeing with me and if you "don't know much about US politics and politics in general" then I guess you have take my word on it.
Therefore I don't have anything else to add on that matter.

I totally agree with everything you are saying. I have to confess that I don't know much about US politics and politics in general--So just a few questions:

1. What credentials does one need to run for US presidency? Do you need to have a degree in every subject? Or a Resume with 20 years experience ?

2. Does a candidate have to know anything and everything about a huge and complex country ?

3. Perhaps the parties in the US should cultivate one or two persons and train them to be the most knowledgeable on all topics and then nominate them during election time, rather than picking a senator etc from a particular state. This process would provide a very knowledgeable person who can say the right things and make everyone happy.

4. Correct me if I am wrong-- but I think Bill Clinton was the most educated president that the USA has ever had. Regan was a "good" president and he was a celebrity from Hollywood .

5. Do the US presidents really make decisions them selves? Or they have a thousand advisors telling them what to say and do ?

6. Would the US congress pass a "bad" proposal that a president proposed?

7. We all blame Bush for all the bad stuff but it is the people who elected him twice, correct ?

8. Palin has done some good things for the state of Alaska -- does anyone know about that ?

9. How much international relationship experience does Obama bring ? How many countries did he travel to as an executive?

10. How many Born Americans have travelled out of their country once in their lives? So if Palin has not travelled then good for her; she represents the majority of the American population, no ?

11. How many "educated" Americans know about Geography and Economy of the worldsοΏ½ ?
They would only know it if the needed to-- as and when Palin needs to know these things she will be advised on the best course of action-- and she will learn on the job, perhaps?

12. ... and a lot more basic questions we should ask, instead of beating up Palin, she was chosen by the party she didn't force herself on!

Cheers

We have made two consecutive mistakes in the past elections as a nation. We have elected a clueless governor of Texas as President who claimed that trade with Mexico was one of his great achievements dealing with a foreign country. Look where he has taken us! Now we are considering electing a vice president who claims that her trades with Russia, a country she can see from her home with her naked eye, as one of her notable accomplishments dealing with foreign neighbor! And are we falling for her because we are so gullible?
I have a claim to make. My claim is Sarah Palin is plain old Stupid with a capital "S"!!!! No wonder why John Mccain is trying to shield her from the media! Is this one of the reasons why he is trying to focus his attention to Wall Street even though there are only few days left before the election for the Main Street!
If you guys want to know how STUPID the "Palin" lady is then you would feel sorry for the "maverick" John Mccain for picking this airhead. I think even the thought of voting for Palin as the vice president is an insult to intelligence after witnessing her embarrassing episodes with the media. You have to watch the interview with Katie Couric to get a feel for the incompetence of Sarah Palin. Here is an excerpt from the interview:

Couric: You've said, quote, "John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business." Other than supporting stricter regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago, can you give us any more example of his leading the charge for more oversight?

Palin: I think that the example that you just cited, with his warnings two years ago about Fannie and Freddie - that, that's paramount. That's more than a heck of a lot of other senators and representatives did for us.

Couric: But he's been in Congress for 26 years. He's been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.

Palin: He's also known as the maverick though, taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he's been talking about - the need to reform government.

Couric: But can you give me any other concrete examples? Because I know you've said Barack Obama is a lot of talk and no action. Can you give me any other examples in his 26 years of John McCain truly taking a stand on this?

Palin: I can give you examples of things that John McCain has done, that has shown his foresight, his pragmatism, and his leadership abilities. And that is what America needs today.

Couric: I'm just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.

Palin: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you.
