[chottala.com] Stereotyping or thinking outside the box?

Stereotyping or thinking outside the box?

Mr. Mushfiq Prodhan

Are you stereotyping the majority of the writers/intellectuals as promoters of leftist ideology
( Marxist/Leninist)?

I believe, you meant Bangladesh, when you talked about the "majority of the writers/intellectuals
are biasly educated that, they are unable to think outside the box", not about your adopted homeland
USA. In todays' world Marxism has been  obsolete politically, and Leninism lost all it's viability.

No one, even the communists in Bangladesh speaks of Marxism any more .....The Stalinism was
rejected even earlier, probably by Khruschev, immediately after the death of Joseph Stalin almost sixty
years ago. I do not see any lagacy of Marxist-Leninist or even Stalinist thoughts among the liberal
writers/intellectuals of Bangladesh ..... rather it is other way around ...  among the ruling elites
[irrespective of any party] and uttra-opportunist of Bangladesh the stalinist methodology
in very much in vogue. Two examples are:

(1) "Selectively neutralizing" people under custody through staged "crosss-fire" heart- attack etc.

(2) Blaming & charging opponents for destroying the Bangladesh's image abroad for fair critism and
dissents. [Stalin used to charge, even annihilate dissidents for destroying the image of the Motherland]
I think you attributed the term "leftist ideology (Marxist/Leninist)" to majority of the writers/intellectuals
who are either liberal or psuedo-liberals and who do not promote specific variety of nationalist  ideology.
I hear the hear the voice of the American neo-cons when you say "all of them posses leftist ideology
( Marxist/Leninist)".  Please substantiate your views in this regard [I hope you know what Marxism-Leninism
and Stalinism is]

BTW, two of the NoyaDigonto writers [ Mr. Sadek Khan & Mr. Farhad Mazhar] are, to my knowledge, former
Marxists. Are they included in your generalized list of  writers/intellectuals who "posses leftist ideology
( Marxist/Leninist)"?

Again, just two ago one of our fellow blogger advocated Maoist type guerrilla war and frequently uses terms
marxist terms like bourgeois etc ... what do you think of that ?

Dear Amin Bhai

it is extremely unfortunate that, the majority of the writers/intellectuals are so biasly educated that, they are unable to think outside the box.  Almost all of them posses leftist ideology ( Marxist/Leninist), and their attitude totaly resemlbes of the hardcore and radical regime of Stalin. To add insult to injury, these people got an strong influence on Awami Leages through Late Tajuddin.

Till date, they are still capable of influencing Awami Leage's decission making, though it had costed the party its chief and left them out of the driving seat for a long 21 years.

Probably these people's ability to make huge noise in the media, has kept them in party roster. And that is exactly they are doing on behalf of Awami Leage.

As Mr Aminul Islam wanted to know, what they want is pretty simple. To fullfill their ill conceived, radical and destructive agenda through Awami Leage. So they wanna see AL to be in the power by "any means." Thats why they shout, they jump and never hesitate to even LIE.

Whatever anomosity is seen here against pro Bangladesh stand is nothing but the fallout of commie influence on some ordinary people.

osmany jalil acber never rose such demand.
But DR kamal is demanding for trial of "war criminals"who is DR kamal?
He was called Rajaker in in Charampatra of Sadhin Bangla beter kendra.
He signed the packt which bar the trial of crimes in 1971.

Mr Raisuddin's call for unity for the betterment of Bangladesh is the demand of all patriots. However, his rebuttal below, may create doubt in ones mind about the depth of his understanding about our national agendas.

There was only one agenda during our liberation war; i.e Freedom. Since the communist   super power like USSR along with Socialist minded India helped us to fight for our cause, then Govt have adopted the Socialism, Secularism, Democracy, and Nationalism (Bangali) as the four pillars of our constitution.

After the sad demise of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and the rise of Bangladeshi nationalism, three out of four pillar of our Constitution was amended. Since  it got popular among Bangladeshis, even Awami Leage too have adopted similar approach to their own constitution, though it was not inked.

Awami Leage who politically steered our liberation war, clearly have adopted Capitalism over Socialism and Theism over Secularism in their principle. Only a hand full non realistic AL fans seldom echoes to go back to 1972s constitution as a part of non serious political chants.

When Mr Raisuddin accuses Mr Ayubi to stand against the basic code of Bangladesh's liberation war, then one must wonder which century Mr Raisuddin belongs to? Because there is nothing against BD priciples that was disputed by Mr Ayubi. And Mr Raisuddin also didnot mention those violations at all.

Except for democracy, the other three principles of our liberation war have been amended. If Mr Raisuddin is unaware of the change, then it must wonder which world does he lives?

Though Bangladesh Awami Leage along with the name sake leftist parties seldomly echoes the banning of JIB from our political arena, but such call was never serious nor practical. In parliamentary system, two third majority in the house is necessary to pass such resolution.

As far as the trial of the war crimes collaborator goes, in a civil society such can easily be attained through the judiciary. But such issue has been nourished days after days to gain political leverage, hence we see the emerge of GhaDaNiC, Sector Commander's Forum etc. If the issue was that serious to the concern parties, then they should already knocked the doors of the court, instead of engaging in street side violent agitation and killing of the innocents. ( Remember the Oct of 2006 event?)

These are the things Mr Ayubi have been pointing out time to time, for which Mr Raisuddin have awarded him as the sympathizer of  Rajakar, Al Badr, Al Shams, Urdu loving, even Al Quaida !!!! ( I wonder where does Al Quida comes from in this issue? Seems like someone really need serious learning about contemporary history of the world events)

These tittles have been misused so much, that it doe snot make no impact on general public any more, rather sometimes raises the eyebrows into wonder.

I have bad news for all Bangla loving patriots. Look deep in your own household. Your young ones know Hindi ( the mother of Urdu) better than Bangla, your female members are psychotically obsessed with Hindi entertainment channels and fashion, your dramatists, cinema and music directors often copy Hindi dialogs and songs. So is it ok to criticize one, probably who was born and grew up in a Urdu environment,  for having limited passion for Urdu? ( A huge portion of Dhakaiyas speak Urdu as their mother tongue)

My writeup should not be assumed as an answer on behalf of Mr Ayubi, as he is quite capable of doing it himself. Rather I am trying explore the common grounds among us to be united, as called by many reputed members here, that includes Mr Raisuddin too as well.

In order to be united for greater cause, we must explore bias free sources to educate/rededucate  our knowledge base. So we have a much clearer picture of our history and culture of present and past. Based on our rejuvenated mind, definitely we could adopt a path of meaningfull unification, for the greater cause of Bangladesh. Raising ourselves above political biasness would remove any bar from that noble path.

Please agree that  Bangladesh is much bigger than any political party or figure.

Mr. Ayubi,

With due respect, may I ask you, a similar question to you why you are so obsessed with Urdu, Pakistan, hijakars of Islam, Jamat, Arabists, Rajakars, Albadar, Alshams, AlQuaeda, and all who goes by someway, or by whatever means, go against the Basic Codes of Bangladesh on which this country was founded? Why you and your supporters have despicable stinky mouth through which world's most hated words come out when you are after someone? Why you can not maintain your normal posture in the public arena and express yourself like a gentlemen and an orator rather than showing extreme intolerance and uttering lowest level laudable words? You are a retired person having enough time to do all these and earn something out of it but most of the other people like me have regular work to earn, a lot of family work, and in between trying to contribute something, as much as possible, for the Mo/Fatherland where I was born, grown, educated, and earning by work, and where my all ancestors were born and where all my coming generations will be rooted. This isn't the same as you and us. Anyone like me have no free time to garbages out of the internet plate. So, I would really really request you to focus on the issues, talk about the issues the way you like, contribute rather confuse and laud, and be player and partner, either on side, or oppsite side, or be independent speaker or observer, but please don't drag us into plague. Almost everybody knows what is good and what is bad. Public isn't stupid. So, good deeds will make you better and submerging in evil will only bring loss, pains, and ultimate destruction of people and the country. We have to work together regardless of the difference of opinions. We must disagree to finally agree into better points. Let's have unity for the sake of my Mo/Fatherland instead of bifurcating, trifurcating, or multi-furcating the nation and the country. It's not going to happen unless leaving the detrimental extremism that you and your supporters are showing to the general puiblic of Bangladesh. iIam saying all these becuse I am an extremely neutral person. I was never affiliated with any party, any organization, any group, or anything other than myself. However, I am a keen observer of what is going on in Bangladesh. All I want the stability and progress of Bangladesh. I really have hard time to tolarate anyone who I find are engaged in the subversive activities against Bangladesh whoever he may be. Thanks.

Regards,
K. Raisuddin

MR.ASLAM,
WHY ARE YOU SO OBSESSED WITH JBI AND PAKISTAN, IN TODAYS CONTEXT THEY ARE MUCH SMALLER EVIL THAT OUR BIG NEIGHBOUR WHO ARE OUT TO DESTROY US. WHY NOT THINK OF WAYS TO DEAL WITH THEM. WE CAN DEAL WITH PAKIS AND JIB LATERWARDS  ALSO BUT THIS DANGER IS IMMINENT. THEY ARE NOW GOING TO IMPOSE THEIR STOOGES IN OUR COUNTRY AS OUR RULERS. THEY ARE ACCUSING US OF TRAINING INSURGENTS BUT IT IS THEY WHO PATRONISED THE HILL TRACT INSURGENTS AGAINST BANGLADESH.
FOR OUR VERY SURVIVAL WE MAY HAVE TO TIE UP WITH CHINA AND PAKISTAN. SO WHY BOTHER PAISTGAN NOW. THEY MAY BE OUR USEFUL ALLY AGAINST INDIA. YOU ARE DRAGGING A MINOR AND INSIGNIFICANT PROBLEM IN THE CONTEXT OF TODAY TOO FAR AND IGNORING THE BIGGER MENACE. THE WORLD HAS CHANGED IN LAST FORTY YEARS. YOU HAVE LOT OF CATCHING UP TO DO TO REACH TWENTY FIRST CENTURY.

Repentence for the past mistakes and asking the victims for forgiveness is the only way to create a better world and unify people not by justifying the crimes and misdeeds or by denials   !

wrt:

Yes, the ordinary people of Pakistan was not responsible for the
atrocities of 1971in Bangladesh by the  ruling Junta of Pakistan  of
which  Jamaate Islami (JIB) was the main local collaborator.

Among many reasons that "keep the Muslims of Bangladesh and
Pakistan divided" is a basic attitude that is reflected in the blog below:
"Paki-Jamaati snakes are undermining our Liberation
War with their venoms and justifying Pak-attrocitie in the
name of Islam...... [Javed Iqbal Kaleem's blog].
Here is the quote justifying the genocide of 1971 in the
name of Islam :
"Anybody or group that raises arms against a Muslim government,
loses his identity of a Muslim and becomes a renegade. He deserves
death penalty for his rebellion... ....If the Jamaat helped and supported
the army. it did it for the cause of Muslim Ummah. When Awami League
tried to break a Muslim country by seeking aid of the worst anti-Muslim
enemy, Jamaat tried to save Pakistan." - Jamaati Javed Iqbal Kaleem in
Do you approve this Paki-Jamaati propaganda,Brother Hannan ?

The people of different countries can join together to
form a better world only through a bottom up approach.
Although very feeble we can see a growth of
voices of conscince in Pakistan which can unify
the mankind: Repentence for the past mistakes
and asking the victims for forgiveness is the only way
to create a better world for the people of the countries
that had been at war with each other, not by justifying the
crimes and misdeeds or denials.

Voice of Conscience from Pakistan
Like charity, religion and moral values begins at home. Islam can benefit by creating
an environments for better families and tolerance towards others, not by preaching own
supremacy, hatered & parochialism in the name of Islam.

Dear members,

Assalamu Alaikum. As regards the correspondence below , as far as I nderstand there are some extremists on both sides who are  making highly sentimental stories to inflame public opinion. The truth, free from propaganda, on the events of 71can be properly evaluated if any one reads the accounts on it by senior writers from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Americans and European journalists. Then only it will be possible to form a balanced view.
Recently my niwce , a journalist went to Pakistan in a journalists delegation .She wrote and also told me that common people of Pakistan  say that they are in no way responsible. It is only the then politicians and  generals who were responsible for all mis-happengs. They feel that some element are out to keep the Muslims of Bangladesh and Pakistan divided so that enemies of these countries and Islam can benefit.

Mr. Saluddin Ayubi

These are clear indications that few Paki-Jamaatis [ Javed, Kaukab et el] are very active
in Bangladeshi forums and trying to justify the crimes of 1971 where Jamaate Islami was
the main accessory and collaborator with it's Al-Badar in the front-line.
Till today, they are actively trying to falsify our history and justify their crimes and atrocities
of 1971 in the name of Islam. JIB and its cohorts  have the same game plan.

I have no problem with the ordinary people of Pakistan, they are as deprived as our
ordinary masses. What has happened in 1971 is a phenomenon. This phenomenon
may repeat unless the new generation know the true history of our Nation's birth
and stay alert against all external enemies, and enemies within. The price for our
independence was paid with the blood of our masses and the izzats of mothers and
sisters.

Do you see that the same Pakistani indoctrination still prevails, I have been called
a Hindu (Mr. Sri Gose) , promoting his Indian agenda,  just because I have a different
vision or different points of view. I read in history books and heard from our elderly that every
democratic movements before independence [1947-71 from Bhasa Andolon to 6-point /11-point
movements] were termed as acts of Hindus promoting Indian agenda. I think, you know
better than me ....

Lo and behold ! All our victories of yesterday
Is embedded in one that we paid the price with blood...
And the honor of our mothers and sisters ...
Stay alert of the traitors and enemies within .....
Lest we forgetâ€"lest we forget!

Thanks for your patience

I fail to understand as to why are you trying to quote from a Pakistani national  and trying to prove that he is Bangladeshi Jamat Activist. Pakistanis may say anything but we can not take that as bench mark for anything because we are no longer Pakistan. We were Pakistan for only 24 years and we are Bangladesh for 37 years. the most active part of our population were all born in bangladesh. Then why cant you forget Pakistan. We have nothing to do with them. they are not our friend , philosopher or guide. So why bother about them. Just believe that Pakistan do not exist.
