Where did you find that I was blaming the innocent people of
Pakistan? The ordinary people of Pakistan are just like people of any
other country …they are honest and simple minded (and hard
working too). The elites and ruling junta of Pakistan lacks far sight
and they don't understand the foot steps of history. They have mostly
used religion to achieve their own narrow interest.
Julfi Bhutto's personal ambition definitely accelerated the breakup of
Pakistan, but he was definitely not the main culprit behind 1971's
Genocide in Bangladesh.
The main perpetrator behind 1971 Genocide in Bangladesh is
the Pakistan military hierarchy, the successors of Field
Marshal Mohammad Ayub Khan.The Islam-passand ideology of
Pakistan also played a role.
On February 22, 1971 the generals in West Pakistan took a decision
to crush the democratic forces in Bangladesh (then East Pakistan)
and the supporters of Mujib. It was approved by the ruling
elites of Pakistan, from the very beginning, that a campaign of
genocide would be necessary to eradicate the threat to their power:
"Kill three million of them," said President Yahya Khan at the
February conference of the officers, "and the rest will eat out
of our hands." (Robert Payne, Massacre [1972], p. 50.) On March 25
the genocide was launched ........ Anti-people militarism still exist in
Pakistan …
Except for tiny section of progressive intelligentsia, most Pakistanis
don't accept the fact that Pakistan was at fault for the break up and
genocide of 1971. They still think Bangladeshis were Gaddars ....
traitors .... You may be right on your assertion that ordinary "People
were lack of correct information & huge miss-wrong information
around them." ...... this is still continuing .....continuing in every front
.....As I have said before, most things in Pakistan are done by the
way of deception... the real victim is the ordinary masses of Pakistan......
You have mentioned: "Gradually they accept it. But the PPP & late
Benajir Bhutto did not accept it." If the people of Pakistan had
accepted their fault as a nation, they would have apologized to
people of Bangladesh through a resolution in their National parliament.
37 years have passed, we haven't seen any major political party or any
grass-root mass organization has even admitted the crime their nation
had committed. They still think that except for few "pan-Islamist
intellectuals" like yourself, all other Bangladeshis are
"Dalals of India."
I admit, I have many problems: but your statement "Your
problem is you're jealous of Pakistan" is totally wrong and
obnoxious....this has hurt my perception of yourself as a dignified
intellectual with some integrity. That was basically a very cheap
slogan mongering in your part.
In any case, what is so good about Pakistan that you cherish so much?
What is there to be jealous of Pakistan? Rather, I am worried about the
fate of ordinary people of Pakistan, the ordinary masses, the innocent
devout moslems, the Baluchis, the Sindhis, Pakhtuns, the Mohajirs, and
even the rural onion-chapati eating Punjabis ......
The 1971 Bangladesh Liberation war was not a result of ethnic rivalry
as many of us would like to portray. I was it was essentially a fight
against an occupation regime representing an oligarchy, a ruling elite
that wanted to maintain it's hegemony on the political power structure
of Pakistan. The State of Pakistan broke into two pieces, but the
Junta was the winner, it kept grip it's on the remaining Pakistan
even stronger than ever before. As a result, a deep rooted &
opportunistic Military Economy flourished in Pakistan. Dr. Ayesha's
recent book Military Inc. focuses on the economic empire that has
been built up by the arm forces in Pakistan, The Milbus or the military
economy where the profits accrue, without any accountability, to
some individuals in the top echelon of the army, navy and air force.
Finally, I regret to say that you have shown a very creative way
of justifying the atrocities of Pakistan in 1971 through your
innuendeos. The Pakistan by itself is a phenomenon that
necessiates a thorow analysis and understanding: This
was not an accident that 1971 happened ....The top echelon
of Pakistan seems have forgotten the lessons learned during
their "reign" of Bangladesh .... the same ruling class attitude
combined with opportunism & heavy-handedness that broke
Pakistan still exists. That's what makes me concerned about
the ultimate disaster that's waiting to happen. Just as before,
the causes are still internal, stock pile atom-bombs or Gaznavi
Missiles would not save this nation from it's ultimate collaspe.
These are merely tools to deceive their own people. Only thing
that can save Pakistan is to trust its own people, nor heavy
military built up.
I know, that the lovers of the Milbus of Pakistan will not agree
with me, I agree to disagree with them.
By the way, the timing of Launching of Ghaznavi Missile suggets
that it was a show-off to motivate the ordinary voters in PML-Quaid's
favor, but Allah the almighty had some thing else in mind. It didn't seem
to have worked........

for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan. When
America failed to defeat 15 Million strong Afghanistan and 35
Million strong Iraq, how can it defeat 165 Million strong Pakistan
armed with Atomic weapons and Ballistic Missiles. We have a right to
preempt any atomic attack on Pakistan by hitting back at Israel, which
is in our reach and which cannot bear even one Bomb. So better talk
sense, instead of toeing the line of your Hindu and Jew bosses.
