[chottala.com] Bangladesh's image has been irreparably harmed by imbecile law adviser Mainul Hosein

Bangladesh's Image Abroad

Dateline: New York, Dec 6, 2007, by special correspondent.

In an emergency plenary meeting of the UN, it was resolved that Bangladesh's image has been irreparably harmed by having an imbecile for a law adviser. In an impromptu press conference, Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, flanked by the Easter Bunny, Bozo and a delegation of village idiots from all over the world, announced that Mr. Mainul Hosein of Bangladesh has just set a new record for gratuitously and unnecessarily invoking the image of Bangladesh.

Secretary General Moon, on behalf of the United Nations and all its member nations confirmed that neither he or his staff, nor other world-leaders, stay up at night worrying about Bangladesh's image every time someone files a lawsuit in Bangladesh.

When a reporter brought up the fact that the police in Bangladesh refused to take the treason case against three Jamaat leaders on the ground that they lacked " necessary government sanction" to accept the case, Mr. Moon pointed out that when police needs instructions from the government to accept or refuse a case, that lowers the image of a country.

When university professors are jailed for participating in a silent procession, that hurts the image of a country.

When the judiciary is allegedly made independent among great fanfare, but police officers can still contact their bosses and disobey a direct order from a magistrate to accept the case, that belittles the country.

When the chief law enforcement officer of a country blatantly misrepresents the law of the land, that belittles the country.

Coddling the killers of brothers and sisters and fathers and mothers belittles the country.
