Well said but could have been a little harsher with BNP.

FYI, BNP regime never had any BAKSHALI dictatorial rule.....or abduction of democracy (only for 3 months in order to make constitutional changes acceptable by then AL).
Not that BNP's regime was any ideal democracy....but it never became a facist govt systematically killing & denying opposition's democratic rights and people's votes.

AL's last 6 months will be the worst rule in Bangladesh's history after the BAKSAL's rule with respect to killings/misrule/dictatotship/vote robbing/corruption/sovereignty etc.  Ershad's era dictatorship now seems like a golden era, given only 3-10 people were killed for restoring democracy. For this AL's govt more than 250 already got killed by RAB/Police in last 5 months.

So, even though BNP's rule was anything but perfect, it was not an utter dictatorship or a police state, like it is for AL's current regime.

Absolutely not. Where did you get the impression that I implied  Khaleda--Nijami regime was any better? In both instances, democratically elected government  turned into regimes of kleptocracy --
differing only in degree, that is to say  that at the present time Hasina regime's mischief is leading to ad nauseam.

The report in the link below gives us some glimpses of the reactions of political courtiers of insignificant parties which are baited with some position and power to form the 14 party grand alliance under Bangladesh Awami League (BAL) leadership. In a country with no rule of law a democratically elected government become a kleptocracy with all its branches: executive, legislative and judiciary get enmeshed in corruption and crimes. There are concerns if Sheikh Hasina is willing (or even has the capacity)  to serve the country's interest ahead of her party's hooliganism.
